Chapter 341 - Omake 16, Gacha World, CH.8: Spiked Ceiling Trap.

(Matt's POV )

After finishing our introductions Anis and I were going to continue exploring the dungeon but then I noticed something in the center of the room, a small wooden box similar to my deck holder, I went over to pick it up and Elis flew over my shoulder to explain what I had picked up.

Elis: Oh, you're in luck, you found a treasure chest.

Anis: Uh, that doesn't look like a treasure chest.

Despite Anis's doubts, I trusted Elis's words and opened the strange box, as I lifted the lid a red light came from inside the box and inside was one of the red cards that came out of the personal Gacha, that was useful, but it would have been more impressive if it had come from a classic large chest.

Anís: ...it would have been more impressive if it had been a normal chest.

Matt: ja I was thinking exactly the same thing.

I flipped the card over a couple of times, but I didn't see the description on the card like I did on the cards that came from the gacha.

Yuuki: Is this thing broken or something?

Elis: Cards found in dungeons have to be appreciated by people with a special skill, of course I can do that too.

Elis shed a light on the letter and a description was engraved on it, I quickly started reading and saw that the thing was a strange potion called ogre blood, the thing gave the characteristics of an ogre like superhuman strength, high vitality and regeneration to the one who drink it, that sounded too good and I thought that this was definitely going to hurt but I asked Elis just to be sure.

Matt: Hey if I take this, will it hurt less or more than when I received my adept abilities.

Elis: more, but if you take a third of the potion a day you can avoid the paralyzing pain, although the benefits of the potion will also be assimilated more slowly, you know no pain no gain.

Matt: I'm not in a hurry at the moment.

I opted for the least painful option, and took some of the potion, I only felt something freezing go through my throat, after that we moved to the stairs on the other side of the room and as we walked I took a look at the grenade launcher Anis was carrying.

Matt: It would be a waste to use that against goblins and slimes, you can use this.

I handed the pistol I was using to Anis and she looked at me with a raised eyebrow, then looked at the hunter sword that had been cracked after my battle with the ogre boss.

Anis: Will you be okay with that?

Anis pointed at my sword, and I shrugged, then I put away the nearly broken sword and pulled out my two knives.

Matt: I'll be fine.

With that we finally left the boss room and Elis's map showed that the dungeon was now a series of brick tunnels that connected to larger rooms.

Matt: archers in front.

Anis: eh?

The map showed some enemies on the other side of the tunnel and the sound of arrows crossing the air put me on alert, I created some stone pillars in front of us and the arrows lodged themselves there without harming us.

Anis peeped through the created cover and twisted her expression in disgust at the sight of the little green monsters.

Matt: Do you think you can hit the archers?

Anis: Just watch.

Anís leaned part of her body out of cover and she fired four head shots, eliminating the archers, I followed up on that by running towards the goblins with both of my knives in hand, my body felt lighter than before and I was able to close the distance quickly, being close I saw another goblin using an animal skull as a helmet, that seemed to be another shaman so I aimed at him first, by stabbing a knife under the animal's skull, I finished off the shaman before he could use magic, I kicked another gonbin in the head and he flew against the wall, breaking his head on impact, with my other knife I stabbed another goblin in the side of his head and for the rest I created some stone stakes that fell on their heads.

Anis: wow so this really is a fantasy world.

Anise approached me and saw the monsters convert into money and crystals that were absorbed by Elis, now she was a true believer.

Matt: It almost feels like we're inside a video game.

Anis: Uh, are there video games in the world you're from?

Matt: Of course, why wouldn't they exist?

Anis: I don't know, I thought you came from a fantasy world like this.

Matt: nah the world I came from was a relatively safe one.

Continuing our exploration we easily passed the next two floors which had only goblins and slimes, when we reached the eighth floor it seemed that we were going to find more of the same But when a group of enemies appeared on the map inside a large room, Anis and I watched from the hallway and I recognized a couple of ogres inside the room, of course, these weren't giants like the one I had faced, but they were still intimate.

Anis raised his grenade launcher as if telling me it was time to use it, but I shook my head and took out the sleeping bombs I had stored in my deck, this called for a classic spiked ceiling trap.

I rolled the bombs into the room and with a burst of pink smoke the monsters began to fall asleep, the ogres were more resistant to the effects but they couldn't mount a counterattack, I created the spiked ceiling trap with my Psynergy and drop that at the monsters, the ogres tried to stop the trap with brute force but after dropping some giant rocks on my trap that was more than the ogres could handle and they were all crushed.
