Chapter 1 - Prologue

Forty years ago, Earth and its inhabitants were transported to another world, acquainted themselves with a game-like system. This disaster altered people's lives; the poor became wealthy, the wealthy became powerful, the powerful came to be tyrants, tyrants turned into monsters. People fought for resources, they established communities with laws, but some did the polar opposite; they stole, kill, and pillage everything for themselves.

This mysterious world was not short on terror and chaos without laws to abide by them. It was heaven for the wicked and hell for the innocent, but for the two people in this story, these two are indeed unique. These two were betrayed and stolen of every possession they had by their friends that they trusted with their lives. Abandoned in a rank SS dungeon raid, they struggle to survive with only a little gear and supplies they have.

"Hey, how much HP and Mana do you have?" He asked; he was tall and sturdy, his hair black yet almost grey, his brown eyes lost colour, this showed his fatigue. He wore holy white armour covering his head to toe, "462/1000 HP, 200/400 MP." She said as she pants heavily from exhaustion. Her grey robes were worn and torn. You could barely see her face in darkness due to her hood. She holds her half-broken staff in hand, clenching it furiously. "You?" She added as she stared at the man. "500/1000 HP, 100/250 MP." He said. He reached into his pouch and grabbed a high tier health potion. "Here, you'll need it more than I do anyway." He said with a smile. "You should-"

"Don't talk back to me! Please. Do it for me, your brother." He yelled at her. His voice echoed through the dark cavern tunnels. His eyes were begging onto his sister. She was startled when he yelled at her, and she didn't speak back. She swallowed her pride and took the potion, then drank it in silence. They continued walking down the long tunnel in hopes of an exit. They couldn't go back to the entrance because it was blocked due to the explosive spell by their dear friends.

The earth rumbled like an army marching down on them. It suddenly stopped; it was quiet, it made them uneasy. They could only hear their shoes hitting the dirt accompanied by a single light source in the deep darkness inside a den of monsters. As they continued to keep going, he stepped onto something hard like a rock, he looked down, and it was the face and antenna of a man-eating ant. Seeing it up close can make anyone's skin crawl. He grabbed tightly onto her hand and sprinted away, they could hear their marches again, but this time it was louder and closer.

They ran and ran, the earth shook and rumbled as they were getting chased by ferocious ants, and to their despair, they finally hit a dead end. "This is impossible! We are not dying here!" he punched the wall with his fist, then turned to unsheathed his sword, his sister went behind him. "Be ready to fight. Sis, what are you-" he looked back to his sister. She was placing her hand on the dirt wall. "Brother, give me some time to cast an earth spell. I'm breaking this wall down!" She yelled.

"Very well then." He nodded, the monster ants are very sensitive to light, but they are cunning and sharp. They are fully aware of what they are capable of; the beast and animals in this world are different. "You better hurry sis, they'll jump on us anytime now!" He yelled as he waved around the torch to keep away the pest. "Almost there.." She was concentrating, and in a matter of seconds, she would destroy the wall and escape.

"Earth blast!" She yelled out her spell, she blasted a hole onto the hard dirt wall, but instead of salvation on the other side, it was death. The wall she broke down was an entrance to the Queen's chambers. The ants in the room looked at their next dinner, and the ants were surrounding the two on both sides. There was no escaping their fate. She slowly pulled her hood off; her complexion turned pale, her lengthy hair turned white. She fell on the ground in disbelief and looked back at her brother with her teary sharp blue eyes. When he saw her like this, he too lost hope.

He threw his torch down and hugged his sister, "It'll be over; It will all soon be over." He said those comforting words as he pats her crying sister's head. The torch on the ground, its lights are slowly diminishing then it was pure darkness.

The ants charge at them, but their march shakes the earth so much that the ground where the two were standing had collapsed. They fell into the unknown abyss alongside the ants that were about to eat them; they were falling while in each other's arms, never letting go until the very end, until death did them apart.
