Mary Scott stared at David Locke and noticed that his cheeks were growing redder by the second, with even his ears tinged with an unusual flush. A thought suddenly popped into her head, and she pointed toward the bathroom. "Want to go?"
David Locke nodded in embarrassment.
Mary had never imagined she would one day witness such an endearing side of him. She fought hard to suppress her laughter, pressing her lips together. "I'll help you."
"No need." David could easily see the amusement in Mary's eyes—so thick it was practically suffocating. Feeling somewhat irritated and mortified, he declined.
"Oh? You think you can manage by yourself?" Mary raised her eyes and arched a brow at him.
David, clearly annoyed, retorted, "Don't ask a man if he can or can't."
