Mary Scott was stubborn yet soft-hearted; after all, she lifted the thin blanket from David Locke's leg and was dumbstruck to see one of his legs in a full cast. She quickly looked up in shock.
David Locke seemed unfazed, lazily casting her a glance as if to say, "Do you really think I would lie to you?"
Just then, a doctor walked in, and Mary quickly asked, "Doctor, what's going on with his leg?"
"Oh, it's a comminuted fracture," the doctor replied plainly.
The doctor's tone inexplicably angered Mary, "Why didn't you mention this earlier?"
The doctor was bewildered by her aggression, "He survived a car accident and only has a fracture. Are you a family member? Don't worry too much; at most, he'll be bedridden for half a year. With a good recovery, he'll walk normally later."
The doctor scribbled something on David's chart and then turned and left the room.
