The advancing creature froze, its triumphant charge halting abruptly. It slowly raised its left arm, and for the first time, a look of pure terror dawned on its stoic face.
Because its raised arm no longer had a hand.
It had been utterly erased!
On the stump where its hand had been, a purple flame lingered—not burning, but silently eating away at its very existence. As the violet blaze spread, the beast watched its own arm slowly dissolve. The sight was so horrifying that even its emotionless face twisted into a mask of terror.
Throughout this process, the creature had neither heard a sound nor felt an aura. In fact, it had felt nothing. There wasn't even a sign of scorching. Not a single visible speck of ash.
