*Audra's POV*
By the time the rush of the delivery had passed and the adrenaline finally wore off, I think we were all running on fumes. Kay had fallen asleep not long after feeding Finn for the first time, her body completely spent, but her heart obviously full. Mitch stayed close to her, barely blinking, his arm draped across the edge of her hospital bed as if he could guard her from exhaustion with touch alone.
Chris and I didn't stay long after that. We'd been in the hospital for hours, and as much as I wanted to soak up every second of that chaotic, beautiful day, Kay needed rest, and so did we.
Before we left, Mitch handed me a short list on a folded napkin of items they'd left behind in the rush: a fresh change of clothes for Kay, her charger, their toothbrushes, and the comically large snack bag she'd been assembling for weeks. Chris and I made the stop at their apartment later that afternoon.
