Tears rushed out of Austin's eyes as he
stared at half-headed Alison in a blood pool on the bed. He was shaking and trembling, fidgeting around the room.
He had killed someone!? Not just anyone, Alison!, the only girl he had ever loved, he had killed her. He knelt on the floor in agony, crying bitterly as he stared at his own blood-stained hands, he knelt there for about an hour, his eyes now red with huge purple bags under them
He couldn't look at the Corpse on the bed, so he stood up. No one should meet him like this, and no one was going to meet him here. He stood abruptly, took his hoodie off the floor, and wore it. He looked at Alison again and cried once more before he used his hand to clean the inner part of his hoodie and covered his head.
He opened the door slowly and went out of the room, thank God there was a door that led to the backyard. He opened the door to the backyard and met people either making out or having sex, he walked passed them and headed home leaving his car parked in front of the house. He was going to go home and he was going to hang himself.
He didn't deserve to live, he was going to go home and hang himself and he was going to die painfully, that was the only thing that ran through his mind.
He got home and looked at his neighbor's house, their window was closed, they'd already be asleep and Cynthia would still be at the party. He rushed inside, went into his dad's toolbox, and took the rope in it. He ran to his room, took this stool, and ran outside to their garden. He got on the stool, tied the rope to the tree branch tightly, and tied the end of the rope in a circular form, he heard a
ear approaching, it was his dad's, he quickly
wore the rope around his neck
"Austin what the fuck are you doing?"
"Austin stop!" his dad shouted as he stopped his car abruptly and rushed out but Austin had already kicked the stool he was standing on away. He didn't bother to fight for his life, he just hung under the tree, water rushing out of his eyes, his dad ran to him and carried him up from his leg to reduce the force of the rope
"Austin are you crazy? Why do you want
to do this to us" his dad said, terrified and on the edge of crying
"Dad leave me to die" Austin managed to
say but his dad ignored and looked around
for help.
"Johnson! Johnson!" his dad shouted for their neighbor with all the energy he had
"Johnson!, Johnson!" he continued and
at last, a man opened the window
"What's wrong!" he said but his jaw dropped when he saw the scenario unfolding
"Come here and help, please" Austin's father
Said and the man ran downstairs in his robe
All this while Austin was just jiggling his leg to get away from his father's grip and telling his father to leave him. Suddenly his father remembered he had a small knife in his pocket and he brought it out and started cutting through the thick rope.
Johnson finally got there, he picked up the stool,
climbed it, and removed the rope from Austin's neck. It was then Austin's father who let go of him and dropped him on the ground. Austin's eyes now look like they as about to fall out of his face, the veins in his face are now so visible
Johnson and his dad just stared at him silently as he coughed violently and held his badly bruised neck, their hearts still throbbing against their chest, they were still trying to replay what just happened in their head
"Please don't tell anyone this happened," Austin's dad said to Johnson and Johnson looked up at his wife who was at the window who was still terrified
"We won't tell anyone, I promise. You both should go inside and talk" Johnson said
"Thank you," Austin's dad said, and with
that Johnson left
Austin's dad helped Austin who was now crying up and they both walked slowly inside the house, they got into the house and his dad stood silently for a moment before speaking
"After all we've done for you, is this what you want to use to pay back? Knowing you are the only one we have. Just tell me what else you want from me" his dad said as calmly as he could but Austin just stood there, crying.
"You are not answering, tell me," his father said shaking him by his shoulder
"I don't want to live, I just don't deserve to"
he said and with that, his dad hugged him tightly
Emma sat at the dining table as she enjoyed the bacon and egg prepared by her new mom and the sight of her new cellphone, her new parents are not only kind, but they are also rich she held her phone as the clicked on like she has never operated on a phone before, that's probably because the only phone she has ever held before now was Peter's and he kept it away from everyone else. She turned off the phone and kept it in her pocket, she was going to ask Peter how to use it, he is an expert when it comes to things like that.
"I'm going to my room," she said as she ran upstairs
"Okay darling," her parents said
She got to her room and jumped on the soft bed, this was the seventh time she'd come to the room today, it just felt unreal, the room was too beautiful to be hers. She opened her wardrobe and smiled at the new clothes her parents just got for her. Why hasn't she thought of this earlier instead of living in the forest, taking lessons from Max instead of being in a normal school, school? She'll discuss it with her parents later. She brought out her phone and checked what the time was, it was 8:20pm, she was probably late, she packed up her hair, took a jacket from her wardrobe and wore it as she ran downstairs
"Mum, Dad, I'll be back soon," she said as the
walked down the stairs
"Where are you going, it's dark," her mum said
"I promise mum, I'll be safe," she said and with that, her mum kept quiet as she left the house
"Don't be late" the hard her dad said
She stormed outside and ran with the speed
of light, she stood and froze a little looking
back and forth, hoping no one had seen her and thankfully no one did, she needed to learn how to keep her powers, so she ran, this time with normal speed, the speed a human would run with until she got to her destination. Mia and Stephen sat on the bench while Luther and Peter leaned on the wall, she was surprised she met them all, she had thought she would be the first to get there
"We thought you'd never come," Peter said as he folded his arm, he was always the first to complain, he doesn't act like a hundred-year-old
"Come on, I doubt I took that long?" Emma said as she settled down on the bench with Stephen and Mia. Stephen gave her a warm look while Mia wrapped her hands around Emma's waist
"Well she's here now," Mia said "So y'all have somewhere where to stay now?" she asked
"I have parents, rich parents, and I live as the only child in a huge house" Emma answered with a huge smile and Peter rolled his eyes
"We both have a similar case except I live with this lone woman, and I pity her. Her husband left and since then she's been alone and she drinks a lot, I'm considering compelling her to stop drinking but I think it'll do me some advantage" Mia said and Luther rolled his eyes
"What are you to her?" Peter asked
"Her niece," Mia said simply
"She has a sister?"
"I don't know Pete, I'm the child of her dead sister and that's it," Mia said, there was a bit of anger and disgust in her tone, she brought out a phone
"She got me a phone"
"Me too," Emma said happily
as she brought out her phone, they both cheered happily like the others weren't there and soon they stopped to look at the others. Peter cleared his throat and spoke
"I got a job as a waiter"
Mia and Emma's place dropped into disappointment while Luther and Stephen had a wicked grin on their face
"You know you could be the president of this country without a campaign but decided to be a waiter," Emma said
"It would be temporary," Peter said annoyed at everyone's disappointment
"What about you Stephen?" Emma spoke
with a smile
"I'll be living with an isolated farmer, Stephen spoke calmly in a way that made Mia's heart skip a beat, even Emma admires him sometimes
"So we don't judge him that decided to live with a farmer?" Peter asked annoyingly
"He's not a waiter and he gets plenty to eat" Mia replied, disgust written all over her face
And they all finally looked at Luther who had been leaning on the wall like he didn't exist
"I have a girlfriend and I'm living with her, long story," he said plainly
"We can listen to the story later but now I want Peter to teach me how to properly use this phone and the next thing is for Luther and Stephen to get
"We got one already," they both said in unison
"That's great. I need Peter's help on my phone" Mia said
"What if I don't want to help you" he said as he collected the phone
"Stop being a baby, I wasn't the one that got you a waiter job, where will you even sleep, the kitchen?" Mia asked curiously and Emma laughed a bit
"There's a room in the -"
"We don't want to hear," Mia said teasingly and
Luther laughed
"You should even be happy we asked for help, this is the only thing you're good at," Emma said as she stood beside him, and he gave her a death glare which only made her chuckle
"Leave the old man alone," Luther said as he settled down on the bench
"Don't call me that" Peter protested
At the end of the day, they all departed
Emma was happy she now had a phone to call her friends, she opened the door to meet her parents in the sitting room
"We are glad you're back," her mum said as she went to so between her newfound parents.
