Eventually, Abaddon became visibly bored of protecting the peace. There was only so much standing around watching enemies rush to their deaths that one man could do.
He yawned as his boredom reached a peak and he decided he'd seen enough.
"Think you all can handle things here without me?" he asked.
Helios turned around to stare at him.
"Just checking." Abaddon laughed as he held up his hands.
Helios grunted as he turned his head back. "You go and sort things out with the child. And... do make sure that you aren't too hard on the child."
A smile threatened to spread across Abaddon's lips.
"Stop looking like that before I take off my belt."
Abaddon stopped smiling.
'Soft old man...' He thought.

Abaddon expected to find Courtney in her room when he got back. Ever since she was a child, whenever she and Abaddon were about to have a talk, she hid under her covers, or sometimes the bed itself.
