Clematis and Yuki's conversation was interrupted by Toya who had opened the door loudly. Furious while he stared down at the baby who just blankly stared back at himโin confusion.
Toya stomped towards him, puffing out his cheeks with a red tint on them.
"YouโฆYou!!" Toya screamed.
Yuki didn't understand why the boy was angry but he knew that whatever it wasโhe was fucked.
Yuki turned to look back at the floating woman he was just talking to seconds ago but she disappeared. Leaving him on his own to deal with the problem.
Toya now stood in front of Yuki looking ready to commit murder.
Yuki babbled rapidly to stop the boy from possibly hurting him.
"If Shoto hadn't been born. If mom didn't get married to dad. If dad hadn't brought you over to this house! This all wouldn't have happened! Dad would've let me continue my training!" Toya screamed to the babyโor more like he was throwing a tantrum.
"...Wa?" Yuki stared at him in confusion with a bit of fear. He was hoping to leave a peaceful life, not to be the enemy of a future villain that will genocide hundreds.
Out of Toya's palm, a red fire started to emerge in bigger amounts, and he was inching his hand toward Yuki's face ready to burn him.
In the moment of panic, Yuki couldn't think of anything else besides rapidly looking to his sides and blinking as the boy's hand was already burning the edges of his har. So, Yuki launched himself towards Toya and hugged his leg.
"Whatโ? What are you doing? Get off!" Toya shook his leg and Yuki slipped but he tried again and clung himself to Toya's leg. Looking like a koala who was determined to latch onto the nearest tree without even thinking of letting it go. Toya tried to kick the baby away from him but to no avail, Yuki wouldn't let go.
"Hey! Geโ" Toya shouted, getting ready to blast a ball of fire at the baby before a cute tiny voice started to talk.
"Tola!"
Toya froze.
Yuki looked up at Toya with a cute smile and started to shout out his name while giggling.
"Tola! Tola! Hehehe!" Yuki stood up on his feet, grabbed Toya's shorts as support, and bounced up and down to show his happiness. He was committed to doing anything to survive.
Toya was standing there with confusion on his face not knowing what to do with this little boy. He was left flabbergasted when the babyโwho he was just about to killโwas happily shouting out his name with the biggest smile that was beaming in his eyes.
Yuki knows this wouldn't have had the same impact if he was a normal baby that would laugh at everything around them but because he had a more mature mentality, he wouldn't laugh when the nannies made silly faces at him or cry when he needed his diaper changedโsomething that Yuki hated with his whole being. Yuki had honestly forgotten to try and smile in front of others because all he could think about was food and what he was going to do when he would grow up.
"Toya! Toya. Where are you?!" Both kids could hear Rei screaming in panic for Toya, knowing that if Endeavor found out that Toya had possibly gone to Shoto then he would shout at her.
Toya flinched when he heard his name being called, he looked back at the door in a panic and then looked back down at Yuki who was still clinging to his leg. He pushed the baby away and bolted out of the door before Rei could find him next to poor Yuki.
Yuki stared at the ceiling in shame while he lay down on his back. Not believing what he had just done to survive.
When his nanny came inside the room to find Yuki with part of his hair burnt she was shocked and quickly went to pick him up. Soothing him and trying to calm him downโeven if he wasn't crying but she felt guilty for leaving the baby on his own
While Yuki was contemplating his choices from moments ago and grew more embarrassed when he thought about it.
Yuki thought as he cringed to himself, thinking that this would be the last time he would interact with Toya, but he wouldn't have expected what was coming.
Maybe it was luck or Toya was growing fond of Yuki but a week after the accident, Toya would always come inside his room in secret and teach him about his Quirkโhe just wanted to show off his moves to a baby that wouldn't judge for him for his skills. Yuki didn't mind as he didn't have anything else to do and it was interesting learning about a particular Quirk that was exceptional.
And it was also a month after the accident that Yuki was finally learning to walk with the help of his nanny and Toya. This gave Toya a chance to run around the room and make Yuki follow after him as he tried his best to not stumble on his feetโbut overallโToya seem happier to be around Yuki than he ever did with his own family.
This made Yuki uncomfortable for a reason that he couldn't quite pinpoint though he would always forget about that feeling when Toya would try to crack up jokes or tease him for his chubbiness.
He was an older brother that was playing with his younger brother, a normal relationship under peculiar circumstances.
Besides Toya, Yuki wasn't interacting with the other family members at allโbesides Shoto when they would bathe together or when Rei wanted them to play together.
Toya was the only one who bonded with Yuki more than anyone else.
It would seem that this would call Endeavor's attention to pull away Toya from Yuki but the father didn't seem to care enough about him and thus left him to play with Yuki, and this continued for the next four years.

Yuki was reading the Heroes and Crime book while occasionally glancing at Shoto who was being roughly trained by his father.
"Blast it towards me, Shoto!" Endeavor instructed the 5-year-old Todoriki who was exhaustedโhaving sweat dripping from his forehead and frantically gasping for air.
Shoto blasted his quirk toward his father but he was able to dodge with ease and even if Shoto did succeed in attacking him, it would be barely a scratch to Endeavor. Shoto stared at his father defeatedly when he saw him launching towards him. With one blast, Shoto fell to the ground.
Yuki was used to seeing this sort of scene. After Shoto's Quirk "Half-Cold Half-Hot" appeared, Endeavor was filled with happiness and started to train the young boy. This kid was the thing that the hero wanted the most and now that he has gotten itโhe won't let it go to waste.
Endeavor sighed.
"You need to train more, Shoto. I'm not expecting you to get a hit on me but I do hope to see some more progress than last week!" Endeavor went to the side of the practice room to take a break from the 3-hour trainingโnot that he was exhausted.
"Yuki!" Endeavor called out to Yuki who was in the corner of the room reading a book.
Yuki looked up from his book.
โ"Yes?"
"What did Shoto do wrong? Explain it to him." Endeavor pointed towards the Shoto who was trying to breathe properly, obviously tired from all the training and holding his chest as he winced in pain.
Yuki went back to reading his book while explaining to Todoroki.
"He left too many spots open, especially above him. He might think that nobody will try to attack him from above but people with either short or long-range Quirks will try to get close to him from all angles. The other thing is that he takes too long to attack next, he should be able to think quickly about his next move and not dwell on what happened before. Also, he allows his enemies to attack him due to his short stamina." Yuki finished explaining at the same time he finished reading the last paragraph on the page, flipping to the next one.
"He's right." Endeavor proudly nodded.
Yuki earned a glare from Shoto as he clutched his fist in anger.
After finding out about Shoto's Quirk, Endeavor also took this chance to have Yuki study heroes, math, crimes, and all other subjects that are thought to be useful for all heroes. This is why Yuki was in the training room even though he wasn't fighting or training himselfโthis was not only because Yuki's Quirk hadn't manifested but because Endeavor didn't think it was "necessary" for Yuki to train. Not surprising as he thought that only Shoto was deserving of such a future.
"Well, you kids seem exhausted. I have a meeting to go to tonight so go eat lunch and come back later. If you don't want to come back you don't have to Yuki." Endeavor got out of the room and Yuki followed after, just so he wouldn't stay in the same room as Shoto. It was awkward being alone with him after he glared at Yuki.
Instead of going to the dining room, he went back to his bedroom to take notes about today's training; drawing out some of the moves, and trying to describe them in great detail and simple enough for a kid to understand. After that, he was ready to go out with Toya.
"Mom, I'm going to play with Toya!" Yuki screamed out to Rei. He didn't hear a response though, knowing that Rei wasn't in the best state he didn't think of it as unusual. So he got out of the house and right in front of the door, his older brother waited for him.
"What took you so long?" Toya asked Yuki.
"Dad was holding me up a little longer." Yuki gave Toya a smile. He had come to learn that Toya was weak to his smile; though he didn't enjoy the feeling, he came to naturally smile whenever Toya was around.
"What does father have to do with you anyways? He only likes teaching ๐ฉ๐ช๐ฎ." Toya rolled his eyes in annoyance but anyone could tell that Toya was yearning for his father's love. He would always badmouth Endeavor and Shoto but he looked sad in doing so.
Yuki didn't understand him.
"Ah! I remember you promised to take me to the bookstore! Take me before we go to the mountains!" Yuki's mood suddenly skyrocketed when he remember the promise that Toya gave him last week. If he took more notes about the training than before then he was going to take Yuki to the bookstoreโand buy him a book himself.
"...I don't reโ"
"Don't say you don't remember! Let's go!" Yuki grabbed Toya's hand and started running down the street.
It would only take about 10 minutes for them to arrive at the nearest bookstore. It was old and tiny but they had all the necessary books that everyone in the neighborhood needed.
Yuki let go of his brother's hand and started looking at the row of shelves. He already knew what book he wanted to get, he just needed to find it.
"Which book are you looking for?" Toya said as he took out the money from his pocket to make sure that he had enough to buy the book.
"I'm looking for Heroes and Crime Volume 2โฆ" Yuki muttered as he looked at every spine of the book.
"...I'm not buying you that." Toya put his money back inside with a serious face.
"WhaโWhy? You promised you would buy it for me." Yuki's eyebrows furrowed in confusion. The Heroes and Crime book was the only series that Yuki was interested inโhe liked reading the books that Endeavor gave him but this was the only book where the author made the topic interesting.
"I promised to buy you a book, but not that book. I don't even know why you're in this sectionโฆcome over here." Toya dragged Yuki away from the Justice and Law section and pulled him to the kid's section, making Yuki frown in confusion.
"Why these booksโฆ" Yuki sighedโpouting as he crossed his arms in annoyance.
Toya ignored him and looked at all of the children's books to pick one for Yuki. He showed one to Yuki about a worm and Yuki just looked at him like a weirdo. So, he picked another but Yuki showed his dislike by judging the name of the author.
"Okay, then just pick one. I'm not buying you weird books." Toya said with frustration.
"They're not weird, they are about the civilโ" Yuki was trying to explain the content of his favorite book but wouldn't let him finish when he covered his mouth.
"Right, right, just go pick a book. From here." Toya waited for Yuki to stop pouting before he crouched to the ground and grumpily looked at the only options in front of him.
Yuki saw all the book covers and could only wince his eyes when all they had was bears, kids with their parents, flowers, and most animals on the covers. There was not a single book that looked interesting to him but when his eyes went to the edge of the tiny bookshelfโa book caught his eye.
"...then that one." Yuki pointed to a book on the corner.
"Which one?... ๐ ๐๐ญ๐ข๐ค๐ฆ ๐ธ๐ช๐ต๐ฉ ๐ฏ๐ฐ ๐๐ฐ๐ฎ๐ฆ? Are you sure?...what a weird name." Toya stared at the book with a dark cover. The book was definitely for children because of the art but he thought that it was a weird title; he didn't think much of it when Yuki brought it to the register and left with the book.
Then they went on their way to the mountains where Toya would go to practice secretly.
Nobody knew that he was training his Quirk or that his flames were now turning a bluish color but what they didn't know or even suspected was that Yuki would take notes of Shoto's training so that Toya would look at them and train with them.
Arriving at the secret spot, Toya started to read his notes. Carefully analyzing and trying to interpret everything.
While Yuki took out his new book from the paper bag to see what the story was aboutโstopping when notice the scars that Toya had.
"...Mom will start to notice the scars." Yuki pointed out.
"Who caresโฆand if they do get worse you can just put some cream there, right?" Toya smiled teasingly and went back to reading the notes.
Yuki would put ointment cream on Toya's scars when he noticed that they would get bigger or they were becoming more noticeable. It was all thanks to Yuki that Toya was able to heal some of his scars in places that he can't reach.
Toya started to do all the same moves that Endeavor had been teaching Shoto that day, executing them almost perfectly but clumsily. Seeing this cycle every day, Yuki would always grow bored of looking at Toya so he would walk around the area but today he had a book that he could read before remembering that he hadn't talked to Clematis the whole day.

Yuki rolled his eyes.

Their connection was cut short and Yuki was back to looking at the book when out of the corner of his eye he saw that Toya was doing a move wrong.
"You're doing that step wrong." Yuki got up from the floor and walked toward Toya.
Toya stopped for a moment as he waited for Yuki to explain.
"What do you mean?" Toya asked in a perplexed tone. He thought that he was doing the moves correctly and would never have thought that Yuki would correct himโthis was the first time that Yuki called him out for doing a move wrong.
"You're reacting way too fast. When you are supposed to blast and dodge, you blast and dodge at the same time. That will throw off your aim, so try to blast and then dodge as quickly as possible. But, of course, there are going to be times when you'll have to do them at the same time but is better to learn them as it is for now." Yuki explained.
Yuki knew that Toya was good at picking up things fast and that he wouldn't have any problems correcting his moves and that was something that Yuki would always applaud. Toya tried out the move again and waited for Yuki to give him an "Okay" before he continued.
As time passed by, the training went as usual for 30 minutes. Yuki had completely forgotten about the book and was now taking notes on what Toya needed to improveโnot that there was much for anyways.
He got bored after the first 10 minutes and tried to walk around the forest but Toya scolded him and told him to not wander around because it was getting dark, so Yuki just sat down on the floor taking notes. Flipping through the pages, he patiently waited for Toya to finish.
Yuki was minding his own business as he took down notes, glancing at Toya a few times in between his notesโwhen there was a strange cold pain in his chest.
He took a breath and the sharp pain grew bigger, the more he breathed in the air the more difficult he found it to breathe. He held up his hands and blew on them when he felt them going cold but at this point he was wheezing loudly and collapsed on his side, gaining the attention of Toya.
"Yuki!" Toya turned around when he heard a thud and rushed beside Yuki, seeing him shivering and trying to breathe but he appeared to be hyperventilating instead.
Yuki couldn't respond, so he started to cry more because his chest hurt so much and it felt like his body was freezingโwhich worsen his breathing and his face was going pale, way too pale. It felt like he was freezing to death.
Toya started to cry out of panic as he didn't know what to do when he saw his brother breathing heavily but he regained himself and quickly picked up Yuki on his back, running down the hill as fast as he could, forgetting all the things that they brought on the mountain. Toya stumbled a few times on the ground when his legs grew tired of carrying Yuki but even when his legs were shakingโhe ran faster.
When they finally made it back home, Toya was crying and Yuki's eyes were slowly closingโbut his breathing was still as fast as before.
"Mom! Dad!" Toya shouted and cried out to his parents, running down the hallways and trying to find them but not finding them anywhere.
Fuyumi was the first one to find them in the hallway. She stared at them in confusion but grew worried when she saw Yuki on Toya's back.
"Why are you screaming? And what's wrong with Yuki?!" Fuyumi started to panic when she saw that Yuki's skin was turning bluish-purple. She could also see that Toya wasn't in his right mind by the way he stuttered to explain the situation.
Hearing all the chaos, Shoto and Rei came out of their room.
"Mom! Y-Yuki is not breathing!" the moment Toya saw his mother coming out of the room, he ran to her and show her Yuki with a limped neck.
Rei froze on the spot with eyes wide open. She was shocked at Yuki's state but she was also worried when she saw Toya crying after a long time. Everyone was trying to look at Yuki and were screaming over each other before Endeavor came out.
"What's with the screaming?" Endeavor was confused at the loud noises that he wouldn't typically hear in this household but when he saw the half-dead Yuki in Toya's back, he rushed over.
He took Yuki from Toya's back and was already calling his driver to go to the hospital. Taking a quick exanimation at Yuki's conditionโhe put his hand on Yuki's forehead and checked the pulse on his wrist.
"...He's cold." Endeavor seemed to be saying this to everyone but in reality, he was just talking to himself.
"Bring me a blanket." He didn't direct this to anyone but Fuyumi went to a room and found a thick blanket that would warm up Yuki. He quickly wrapped Yuki in the blanket and put him against his chest to give him more warmth. It seemed to work because Yuki's breathing slow down but Toya was still worried that needed to see Yuki's face close up.
At this point, Rei had collapsed onto the ground and seemed to be praying. Natsuo was crying, Fuyumi was trying her best to get a grip on the situation and calm down Natsuo, Shoto stared at Yuki's face with a pale expression, and Toya didn't know what to do.
Endeavor got out of the house and hurriedly got into the car, the hero was about to instruct the driver to start the car but was stopped when Toya tried to get in the car.
"Toyaโฆstay with your mom and siblings. We can't take any more risks." Endeavor said with a serious tone. He didn't glare at Toya but he needed the boy to move away before they started speeding down to the hospital.
"B-butโ"
"Toya! Come back inside." Rei shouted at Toya to come back with tears in her eyes.
Yoya glanced between his mom and Yuki before hesitating to back off from the car and seeing them drive away from the house.
With tears in their eyes, they walked back inside the house with scared expressions. They all knew that Yuki was going to be hospitalizedโas the condition he was in looked very serious. They prayed that it wasn't a deathly situation and were hoping to have their father and Yuki come back in a week or a month. While Toya was hoping that Yuki would come back and play with him after being discharged as soon as possibleโwanting to see him healthy.
Endeavor came back the next day, and Yuki came back in 2 years.
