Chapter 5 - LMLY #04

I tried my best to focus on everything that was being discussed by our teacher, but the fact that Jay and Ishanna were around, that was already enough to distract me.

I really thought Ishanna could give me the shot, but looking how comfortable they were towards each other, I cannot say anything about them.

"Hey, let's eat?" Mark asked as we're all dismissed to have our lunch already. "You seemed to be out of yourself."

I just gave him a nod, "Buy yourself a meal,"

I shifted my glance at Ishanna who is now busy typing on her phone as Yoshi came inside, having her lunch with him.

Jay, on the other hand, gave me a smile, but I avoided it.

"Hmm, lunch?" Mark offered, and this time, I cannot say no because I would really want to get the hell out of here.

We went outside the school and luckily, there's a fast food restaurant having its first opening here in the university where we were right now.

"I want to try it." I looked at him as I held the hem of his polo. "Can we?"

He nodded silently before he held my hand and assisted me inside the fast food.

"You could pick a table for us. I'll just order," he stated before falling in line.

I don't know where to find more seats below, but I noticed that they have upper seats, so I grab that chance to see what's on the second floor.

To: Adie

I'm on the second floor. Near the play place.

After sending that message, I waited for him to see me while he's holding a tray with our food. I even waved my hand at him and that's the moment he gestured to the crew behind him to put his orders on our table.

"Thank you, sir." I smiled at the crew before fixing the food in front of me. They're all my faves!

"Thank you, Adie!" I chuckled. "I did not know you knew about these."

He shrugged. "They look appetizing."

I did not bother to talk to him anymore as I started eating the food in front of us.

"So…" he cleared his throat. "Ishanna and that Jay guy were exes?"

Since he opened that topic, I have nothing to hide from him, I guess?

I shook my head. "They just shared the same—uhh, let's just say mutual feelings towards each other. I liked Jay before and Ishanna knows it, but she still continued to date him." I sighed before looking at him and the moment I saw how furrowed his brows were, I knew that I needed to explain everything for him to know the answers on his unsaid questions.

"I let them because I thought it was okay since we're friends, you know. And that Jay doesn't like me at all. But then, I realized it wasn't fine at all." I sighed. "When he moved out, with all of my stories, poems, songs, Ishanna and I got back closer together."

He just nodded at me before looking at the kids in the play place, having red cheeks while laughing at each other.

I saw a smile forming into his lips.

"Wanna play?" I asked, but he shook his head. "Why?"

"I'm not a kid anymore." He sighed before looking at me. I tried my best to show him that I am sad about his decision, and the moment I heard him sigh, I knew that I just won without doing anything.

We played with the kids while waiting for the time that our next class would start.

;

We were both laughing as soon as we entered our room, not minding if anyone would look at us.

"Your face was redder than mine!" He said, laughing out loud.

"No, Mark. We asked the kids outside. They said it was yours." I was laughing non-stop as his face turned more red than it was earlier.

"Fine, fine. It's on me." He let out a chuckle before following me into our respective seats.

I suddenly remembered the toy one of the kids outside gave us. "Do you have the toy?" I looked at him.

He started searching it in his pockets and finally got the toy we got outside.

"Can this be mine, please?" I really want to keep what those kids gave us. It's not just a toy—it's also a keychain.

He nodded and handed me the keychain, but when I was about to grab it, he moved it away from me.

"I'll put it on your bag," he said before turning sideways, facing me, the reason for me to fully see his face angles.

In a little span of time, I got to memorize all of his features, which is a bad idea.

"It's done." I looked at the keychain that is now put in my bag before smiling. "It's beautiful, right?"

I looked at him and that's the moment I knew, he wasn't looking at the keychain.

It made my face turn red, but I ignored what I feel.

;

"Miss Taliyah, please bring me the details of your classmates later, so I could finish them later and could be sent to the office, hmm?" Our adviser suddenly asked and I just gave her a nod.

"What specific details, Ma'am?" I asked before getting my yellow pad paper on my bag and listed everything down.

I went in front to tell the class to form a line and they obeyed and just as fast as that, I got the details our adviser wanted.

"Taliyah, I'll go with you," I looked at Mark and just gave him a nod before we went out and searched for our adviser inside the faculty office.

"You're the transferred student?" She asked the one behind me and he nodded.

"Yes, Ma'am." He gave her a smile and nodded at him.

"Good thing you two are getting along with each other?" She asked and I just gave her a shy smile.

"He's a good company, Ma'am. And he's the first one to approach us," I chuckled. "It's the other way around whenever we have transferry students, isn't it?"

Our adviser agreed and had some chitchats with us before letting us go into our classroom and have the entire time listening to our subject teachers.

;

"Do we have the same schedule as your friend last time?" Mark asked while we're arranging our things so we could go home already.

I shook my head and gave him my smile. "No. We just have the same schedule every Monday, Wednesday and Friday."

I saw him nod before looking outside and saw Yoshi and Ishanna talking like something pissed Yoshi.

"No, Ishanna. What's wrong with you? You do know what happened to her before then you'll tell her that? What kind of friend are you?" His voice is not in its usual tone because it sounded a bit tense and high? I don't know, either. Maybe it just rose up?

"You won't join them?" I asked Mark and he just shook his head.

"Jay's waiting for you outside. I won't let him accompany you." He whispered, but enough for me to hear.

My brows furrowed. "Why?"

He sighed and looked directly at me.

"I just want to accompany you. He looks like he's not good for you." He shook his head and held my hand. "Let's go?"

I was dumbfounded and didn't have the chance to react to the way he acts, but I did not mind going to the line with him.

He's really a great company even if he's just new to me.

To: Mama

I'm already waiting outside the university. There's no jeepney.

From Mama:

👍🏽

And with that, I didn't bother replying anymore and turned to Mark to have some chit chats with him.

"Mark, don't leave me, hmm? Especially when they're around." I interfered while he's talking, because I am now currently looking at Jay, Ishanna, and the grumpy Yoshi walking to be in line as well.

He put his arm around my waist and made me lean on him.

"I will."
