Archer scanned the Ashguard mansion only to realize it was empty apart from a handful of maids lingering around in the halls. With a thought, he teleported to his old bedroom, which brought back memories, but he chose to ignore them.
'Damn place is the same as I left it,' he mused, looking around.
His father hadn't cleared out his belongings, leaving him to shrug and step outside, where darkness enveloped him. Fortunately, his Dragon Eyes pierced the gloom, catching a faint light glimmering in the distance.
Archer followed the faint light, arriving at a foyer where several guards loitered. Spotting him, they panicked. One charged forward, but he chuckled, waving his hand and sending the man crashing back with a burst of mana.
''I am not here to harm any of you,'' he revealed. ''Where is Duke Ashguard?''
