"How do you plan to deal with these legends?" Mikaela looked at the legends bound together by Muria's nebula chains. She seemed particularly interested in the white snake, which lay coiled like a mountain of serpents. Muria had defeated this seventh-tier legend, and Mikaela felt she could give it a try herself.
"Kill them all. These are excellent materials. Take their heads and hang them on your castle," Ilvester suggested, aligning with Muria's thoughts.
"Are you really a Seraphim?" Muria looked puzzled at Ilvester. "Why are you always so eager to kill? Is this really appropriate?"
"These are evil beings. Why should I show mercy to evil?" Ilvester retorted. "Showing mercy to evil is a cruelty to my companions. We should use the harshest means against our enemies."
"I agree with that. Treat like-minded people warmly like spring, fight fiercely like summer, sweep away selfishness like autumn winds, and be as cruel as winter to enemies." Muria slightly modified a famous saying to suit the situation and spoke it out loud.
This statement made the Seraphim siblings nod in agreement, while Muria's smart subordinates couldn't help but take mental notes. This was the basic quality a subordinate should possess.
"So, you should kill them."
"No, I promised not to kill them." Muria shook his head. "I have a better way to deal with them."
"What could be better than killing them?"
"Of course, there is!" Muria smiled slightly, looking at an elderly man who walked slowly into the council hall. "Mason."
"Your Highness," the old mage who entered the hall looked around, pausing slightly at the two Seraphim standing by Muria's side before shifting his gaze to the legendary Frost Giants and beasts, showing a hint of surprise. Finally, he bowed slightly to Muria.
Upon being glanced at by this old mage, the Seraphim siblings immediately reacted. Flames ignited on Ilvester's white feathers, and Mikaela's already blazing wings burned even more fiercely.
"This is Archmage Mason, a scholar of great knowledge in Synapse!" Muria introduced him to his fiancée and brother-in-law with an ambiguous tone, holding Mikaela's hand to signal her to calm down.
"What do you need from me?" Perhaps due to the presence of the Seraphim, the old man spoke respectfully to Muria.
"Look at these guys. What do you think?"
"Are these the spoils of your battle?" Mason asked, his demeanor still holding a masterful aura despite his disheveled appearance. Muria, having investigated this old man, had a preliminary understanding of him.
This self-proclaimed Mason was indeed knowledgeable, solving almost any problem presented to him. This only indicated that Synapse's current technology hadn't reached his limits. His omniscient-like knowledge was evident.
However, Muria found it hard to hold this old man in awe, knowing that he regularly visited the cloud island where the Drow Elves lived. His visits were consistent—once a month for three days each time.
Investigations revealed that Archmage Mason was highly popular among the Drow, praised with words like "wild" and "fierce." Muria had no comment on this mutual affair.
"Indeed. Do you have any thoughts?" Muria asked with a smile, seemingly unaware of the old man's other side, appearing very respectful towards him.
Having quirks is quite normal among powerful beings. Among the various quirks, Archmage Mason's preference was relatively normal.
Muria knew that Synapse's bio-energy technology was developed under this mysterious old mage's leadership. The energy extraction array he created was not perfect at first, unable to extract energy from legends. However, Mason's optimized array could do this, forcibly extracting energy from legends.
"Do you intend to seal them and use them as energy sources?" the old mage asked.
"Of course," Muria nodded.
"Sealing them as energy sources? Aren't you afraid that one day the seals might break and these evil beings would escape to take revenge? You might be able to ignore them, but what about your subordinates? Don't you consider them?" Ilvester stepped forward, questioning.
"As long as I'm here, these sealed beings will never escape." Mason smiled. "This project was supported by me. I can guarantee its safety."
"And how can you guarantee that?" Ilvester's eyes gleamed.
"With my own strength, of course," the disheveled archmage said, giving Ilvester a deep look. To Muria, nothing seemed to happen. But for Ilvester, it was different. The ragged old man suddenly appeared as a powerful being radiating seven-colored elemental light, exuding immense pressure that made him take a step back.
"Brother!" Mikaela stepped forward, shielding her brother and drawing her sword.
"Enough, Archmage Mason." Muria tapped the armrest of his throne. "Take these legendary captives and process them. Ensure they provide ample energy for Synapse!"
"As you wish, Your Highness." Mason bowed to Muria, then took the seven legendary captives and disappeared from the council hall.
"How do you feel?" Muria asked Ilvester, his gaze now more solemn. He understood that his brother-in-law was helping him test the mysterious archmage, catching the implied meaning in Muria's words.
"Where did you find such a monster? He's too strong. Facing him feels like confronting the legendary elders," Ilvester sighed. "His strength qualifies him as a Deity Candidate."
A Deity Candidate possesses peak legendary power, eligible for godhood, just a step away from becoming a deity. They are among the strongest below the gods.
"Believe it or not, Archmage Mason sought me out. When I discovered him, he had already been working for me for forty years," Muria sighed.
"Working for forty years before you noticed?" Mikaela was slightly surprised.
"I discovered him after breaking through to legend, or more precisely, he let me find him."
"Is that so?" Ilvester mused. "Judging by his power, he doesn't seem evil, likely a human mage, but that doesn't mean he's not."
"Until now, he has done nothing detrimental to me or Synapse. He has been guiding Synapse to become stronger. I cannot deny his contributions."
"There must be a reason for his forty years of service. Perhaps he has some request."
"Does he seek help from the Titan Epics? Unable to get assistance, he might be using Muria to achieve his goal," Mikaela speculated.
"Possible," Ilvester agreed.
"Hard to say," Muria replied helplessly. "With the strength of a Deity Candidate, he could go directly to Titan Island, no need to find me."
"In any case, he doesn't seem malicious, at least not now."
"We'll have to keep an eye on him. With our combined strength, we might not be able to expel him, unless our elders intervene."
"No need for that yet. Let's just watch," Muria shook his head.
In the following period, under Muria's leadership and with Synapse's assistance, the Frost Giant City began to assimilate the spoils of war without rushing to expand. Muria sent out educated Frost Giants to spread news in the wilderness, describing the superior life in the Frost Giant City.
After this battle, large Frost Giant tribes around the city had lost their resistance. Most of their legendary members were either dead, injured, or captured by Muria. What remained were the old, weak, sick, and disabled, not worth worrying about.
