Chapter 50.
~Cassie's POV ššššš~
I was so glad to be outside. Even though we were still far from the school, atleast I wasn't still kept hostage.
I don't know but I kept getting a bad energy from Mr Ken and Jake's father.
Like they were up to something else fishy.
Something kept telling me that they didn't allow me go scot free for nothing.
Jake's father was hellbent on convincing me to stay and fight with them a few hours ago, how could he let me leave just like that. Unless they have another thing planned entirely.
"You okay?" Jake asked me and that broke me from my thoughts.
"Yeah. I'm okay now. You guys are really amazing, coming all the way here to rescue me. Thank you. All of you." I said to them all.
"Of course princess. It was all my idea by the way. I had to convince these ones here to join me in my rescue adventure." Damon said to me and wiggled his eyebrows.
"Ha! You wish. Anyways It was actually my idea we go on this rescue mission." Madeline said to me and nudged my shoulder playfully.
"Well thank you Maddie." I said to her.
"Maddie??" She questioned.
"Yeah. Madeline is kinda a mouthful. Maddie is more fun to the mouth." I replied and smiled.
"Aww, thanks Cassie." Maddie said excitedly.
She looked back at Sage who was walking behind us. Keeping her distance.
"Okay, it was actually Sage's idea. This whole rescue thing, she's tots crazy for even thinking that. Oh and Jake planned out most of everything too." Madeline whispered to me.
"Ohh. Really? Her? Hmm I could never have guessed." I whispered back to her and turned to look at Sage briefly.
"Are you both really gossiping about me right now??" Sage questioned meanly.
"Nope." , "Nah. Of course not."
Madeline and I chorused.
We could literally feel the chill of her eye rolls on us.

After we've walked what seemed like miles, I was beginning to get exhausted.
"Are we getting any closer yet?" I asked Madeline.
"I'm positive we are heading the right way. Just not there yet apparently." Madeline said sounding nervous.
"Please don't tell me we're lost after walking forever?" Sage questioned her.
"Yeah better not say that because that would put me on thin ice." Damon commented.
"We're not Lost okay? Geez, you both really are siblings." Madeline said to Sage and Damon.
"Oh and what is it with you and your new cool ice powers? I saw you using ice on one of those crazy minion girls. And how come we don't know about that?" Madeline asked Damon.
"Great. I guess the cat is out of the bag. I have ice powers, which are super cool like you said. Now please I would like for you to keep your mouth shut about that when we get back home, will ya?" Damon said to Madeline.
"Why are you attacking only me! We all saw you use ice powers for the first time? Why aren't you telling them to shut their mouths too?." Madeline felt attacked.
"Hmmmmm." Damon hummed.
"Wait, I mean unless....they.... already knew!" Madeline said and gasped.
"You all know he has ice powers and didn't tell me!? Wow some friends you are. Oh and isn't that like illegal back in school? Having ice powers and all those extra dangerous powers?" Madeline asked.
"Who says they're dangerous? Isn't every element basically dangerous if they actually will it and want to harm someone?" I asked Madeline.
"Hmm yeah. You have point there. I honestly don't get why these other powers are banned in school. Isn't ice just a family of water? I don't know why they have to deem one good, and the other bad. It's not fair." Madeline said.
"Wow, You know this is the first time I've ever heard you say something reasonable. I'm impressed." Sage said to Madeline.
"No. It actually feels like it's the first time I've ever heard her speak." Damon said and smiled at Madeline.
"Wow you both are really unbelievable with your insults." Madeline said to them.
"Can we all just focus on getting back to the school and skip the unnecessary bantering." Jake said.
"What is your problem? And you've been awfully quiet since we left the gate." Damon said to Jake.
"Yeah I've noticed too." Madeline added.
"I'm just worried. For all we know, there's a war coming up soon. Maybe even sooner than we think, and we're going to have to fight, to.....k*ll if we must. And with the monsters these people have in their possession, and now these kids with extra powers, do we even stand a chance?" Jake asked concerned.
"Geez, haven't even thought about it that deep." Damon said.
And with that everyone became extremely quiet as we walked down the path.

Guys I think we're getting closer, I remember here from before when we fought those monsters.
"You guys fought monsters on your way to me?? Wow that's sick." I say impressed with them.
"Yeah you missed out on that." Sage said to me.
"This is good. That means we're almost home. Can't wait." Damon said.
"Come on guys, let's increase our strides. Madeline continue doing what you're doing." Jake said.
"How are you doing it though?" I asked Madeline.
"Doing what?" She asked.
"Knowing where and where to go. I didn't know you could do that." I said to her.
"Oh yeah. I don't even know how I'm doing it. I guess I'm just following my instincts with nature. I'm letting the trees and the ground we are walking on, guide me. I guess." She explained.
"It's really cool. Plus the way you fought that other earth guy back there, very impressive. Have you been taking extra combat lessons without me?" I playfully asked her.
"Thanks Cassie. I guess it was the adrenaline or something." She said to me.
"Yeah you were awesome." I said to her.
"Are you okay though? You must have been scared off your pants with everything." She asked me.
"I'm okay now. I learned some weird thing about my parents." I said to to her and instantly regretted.
"Your parents? What did you learn?" She asked enthusiastically.
"Nothing much though. Just some nonsense and my dad being the good guy and my mom the villain. I doubt if that's true though. If anything I'd say it was the opposite." I said to her.
"Sorry you didn't learn more about them." She sympathized.
"Yeah. Me too." I said awkwardly.
I kept to myself the rest of the journey.
I kept trying to check if my mind reading powers were still active.
{I can't believe my father's alive. I hate him so much. He wasn't even remorseful for abandoning me, He's gone totally mad. If it's war he wants, I'll give him war.}
I seeped into Jake's mind in a frenzy and got back out.
He's worried about his father. Which I completely understand.
{Damon has ice powers! Damon has ice powers! Damon has ice powers! Does his mother, the principal know about this? Isn't she the one that takes the lead in casting people with extra powers away? Is she going to cast his own son away too? I need to tell my mother about this.}
I seeped into Madeline's mind and it was so loud that I quickly seeped out.
Oh no. She's going to tell her Mom about Damon anyway.
I Shaked my head.
I decided to seep into Damon's mind this time around.
{I can't die in this war. I can't. Going to war is the last thing I want to do because I'm afraid of dying. Going to war means I'd have to use ice powers in front of everyone I know, I can't even imagine the embarrassment I'd feel then.}
I left Damon's mind.
He's afraid.
Didn't think Damon of all people was capable of fear of anything.
Lastly I decided to check sage's thoughts.
{I'll train harder than I've ever trained in my entire life. But I'm afraid my combat skills won't be enough for this war, I need to use my water powers again but I'm afraid I'll lose control and switch to the other side of my powers, the side I'm most afraid of. The side that made me afraid to use my powers entirely. The side I've been trying to keep at bay.}
I seeped out of her.
What side of Sage's powers could make her this afraid to use her own powers?
Could it be she has extra powers just like her brother does?
I let out a heavy breath after going through their thoughts individually.
Reading minds is exhausting. Mind control is so much more better to harness.
"Do you guys feel that?" Madeline suddenly said.
"Feel what?" Damon responded.
"That vibration, or energy or something I don't know. Don't you feel anything?" Madeline asked again.
"We don't feel anything Madeline." Jake responded to her.
"Hmm. That's strange. I guess it's nothing." Madeline said and shrugged it off.

It wasn't long after Madeline's suspicious, we heard some group of large crowd coming our way.
"Guys, please do not tell me you can't hear that too?" Madeline asked everyone.
"Yep. Can definitely hear this one." Damon replied her and conjured up his water sword.
Jake's ball of fire suddenly transformed into a blazing fire sword.
Cool.
Sage conjured her bow and arrow.
Madeline conjured up her sword.
While I stood there like a scared chicken.
I hate that I didn't go far in any conjuring classes.
We waited for the crowd to show themselves to us.
After some seconds, we saw the security people from school, also Phoebe, the air girl, alot of people from school, and finally the principal herself.
"Oh. It's just you guys." Damon said sounding relieved.
"You lot are in a lot of trouble." The principal, Sage and Damon's mother said to us.
Sage let out a sharp breath,"well what's new?" She said and rolled her eyes.
"Cassidy Fairchild! Follow me at once. You too Jake." She said to Jake and I, we both exchanged looks before following her closely.
