Chapter 35 - Life Within One's Heart

Star traveled to vast planets in hopes of understanding his powers more peacefully, rather than them being ignited by a fight.

Star: He landed on a planet with ecosystems similar to Earth and looked down at a flower he had accidentally landed on. "Oh shoot..." He knelt and touched it, and suddenly, a random flash of white energy shot from his hand into the flower. In an instant, the flower regrew, becoming bigger and stronger than before.

He surprised himself; he didn't intentionally output any power from his body, but it appeared his essence had purity and life within it. He looked at his hand, opening and closing it a few times, watching that same energy spark between his fingertips. He wondered where the source of this portion of power came from; his punches came from his mind. Where did this come from?

"Augh!" He gripped his chest, feeling his heart pulse with energy, his spirit was connecting to the life around him, strange mystical animals began entering the environment, and he felt a sense of comfort in his presence. He clawed at his armor piece, feeling energy pulse out from his body again and again. "What is this!"

Confusion overwhelmed his body, why did his soul hurt so much? What was his body rejecting around him? He collapsed to his hands and knees, panting as he felt his body burning up. He looked down at his hand as it touched the grass, then it hit him, and he turned his hand over, watching the grass slowly envelope his hand.

"One person's existence is never entirely their own, for the one who wields the power to bring forth life carries the weight of the world upon their shoulders, living not just for themselves but for the dreams, hopes, and struggles of everyone around them."

He sat on his knees, staring down at the grass shifting itself around Star's hand. "Thinking about the risks of my own life brings me great pain, because it isn't the truth. I think of all life, everyone around me, all those whom I care for. Life was trying to tell me that, life was trying to show me that...I wasn't seeing everything the wrong way, life is precious, life is all of me and all of them."

"I was given so much potential, created with so much life, but I don't understand it. Anybody could do a better job than me, so why was I given these gifts...Why was I so easily given a destiny through a whisper in my ear, yet it felt so wrong to follow it completely?" He balled his hand up, but a colorful deer-like creature walked up to him, and he rubbed its head. He sighed, "What do you think, little one?" The deer looked blankly at him, eating some of the grass. Star looked up at the sky, watching clouds pass by. "Maybe this curiosity is why I was given these gifts, someone has to wonder to create. Love to live."
