May is snuggled up against me, her head resting on my shoulder. She's asleep, her breath warm and even. Her hair is tangled and matted, and she's drooling on my shirt.
I'm not going to be the one to try to move her, though.
It's a few hours later, and she's been napping on and off since she came to sit on my lap.
Roland has been keeping himself busy with his drink. He's had enough for the night, I think. But he's still nursing the same glass from a while ago.
He looks over at me and smiles. "Yer good with kids." He says. "Talia always knew you would be."
"Mm..." I hum, not sure how to respond to that.
"I taught her all I know." Lucas chirps.
"And when was that?"
"Through example~" The man smiles at me far too cheerfully.
"You're picking up Roland's bad drinking habits."
Roland snorts. "The boy's got a long way yet to go to keep up with me."
