It was not an illusion; she quickly got up and ran towards the riverbank.
As she ran, she called out, "Wyatt, Wyatt, is that you? Have you come to take me home?"
Claudia Ross ran out of breath to the riverbank and indeed saw lights flickering on the opposite shore.

Seeing Wyatt Perry wanted to swim across the river to her, Claudia Ross quickly stopped him: "Go that way, there's a suspension bridge. Cross from there."
"Be careful, the mud is slippery. Don't fall," Claudia Ross guided him towards the suspension bridge.
