When Xi Muchen returned, Xia Wanwan was curled up on the sofa, asleep.
There were still a few men at home, all of whom had once been Xi Muchen's closest bodyguards. He had deliberately left them at home to protect her. They followed her closely, but now that Xi Muchen was back, they naturally retreated.
Xi Muchen bent over to pick up Xia Wanwan, but she quickly woke up.
He lowered his head to kiss her, but she dodged.
"What's wrong?" The man raised an eyebrow and looked at Xia Wanwan's slightly pouting mouth, asking, "Who made my Mrs. Xi unhappy again?"
Wanwan wanted to say 'you', but thinking it over, she swallowed her words. After all, she found herself being a bit petty. Though she had accepted these people following her when she went out, she was really not used to them staying at home every day now.
She pouted and said, "Those bodyguards in the house…"
"They're here to protect you." Xi Muchen carried her upstairs. "Be good. If they aren't here, I can't be at ease."
