Chapter 83 - The Recap

Hey everyone, not quite a chapter, but I know a lot of this story is going to be really foggy because of how long it has been since the last few chapters. So in order to make the transition easier, I made this recap of every major event.

I considered putting it as an auxiliary chapter, but I don't want it to get lost or for random readers to just hop in it and spoil everything lol. It's only 3k words, so please read it if you have a chance, even if you feel like you remember a reminder never hurts.

Also, I put a lot of effort into making it an enjoyable read, with goofs, and having each volume be slightly different in presentation.

Volume 1: The Speedrun Any%

After being reborn as a slime, our protagonist does the speedrun of the century.

He gobbles Veldora, tames some wolves, and takes over a goblin village. Standard issue slime shenanigans.

After creating the first iteration of the now famous "For Dummies" series, Rimuru heads over to the Ogre village, and using his connection to Veldora, he convinces the Ogre Chief that his village would soon be destroyed.

Through the power of faking it until you make it, the chief sees the potential in Rimuru(and his connection with Veldora) and decides to take the leap of faith and join his village to Rimuru's future by offering his daughter's hand in marriage.

Shuna and Rimuru do the dirty tango, after which, Rimuru assists the Ogre village in moving to the location of the goblin tribe. And after giving orders to the Ogres and the newly evolved Hobgoblins (and Tempest Wolves) to continue preparing the infrastructure for their new city he begins the second stage of his speedrun.

Bhopping his way to Dwargon, Rimuru performs a frame perfect sequence break, allowing him to skip being taken to jail and saving him multiple days of imprisonment. And, with the extra time, he raids Dwargon's library, heads over to the Night Butterfly and gets a fortune telling that shows his fated person was a woman with twin buns.

Weird.

Anyways, Rimuru decides to bullshit his way into rizzing up the Dwarf brothers before returning to his future city with them.

During this time of relative peace, Rimuru proceeds to begin a small naming spree. However, he waits to name some of the more important people, and those with higher potential, until he can do some RNG manipulation to make sure his people gets better skills by first consuming the Conqueror of Flames.

Speaking of said Conqueror of Flames, using the famous paid actor glitch, Rimuru rizzes up Shizue by showing her that there were still things to live for. One of them being said paid actor, a young albino Kijin named Blanchette who will from now on continue to offer fruits and a charming smile to any important arrival into Tempest.

Then, using the body replication glitch, Rimuru consumes Shizue, copies her skills, and then spits her back out in a brand new body. He did it so fast that the Fire Elemental inside her didn't get a chance to blow up, and getting a gold split in his run.

Then, keeping up the pace, he proceeded to hunt down the Orc Disaster to complete the run.

Thankfully, his early displacement of the Ogre village allowed him to do the "Ogre Skip." An intricate move in which you force Gelmud into personally hunting for and feeding the Orc Lord, speeding up his evolution into an Orc Disaster.

Then, delivering the final blow, Rimuru completes the Speedrun.

Volume 2: The Bird is the Word.

Rimuru name drops Veldora, convincing the monster tribes around him to join him. Rimuru finishes naming the Orcs, Ogres, and Lizardmen. And he won't admit it, but his favorite Monster variant to name are the Orcs.

Then, after rizzing up Gazel Dwargo with his long and hard sword… skills, he sets up a small alliance with Dwargon.

Not long after, Rimuru shoves his sweet juices into Milim. And then, he tricks her into signing a contract. Only to then begin to use his lewd skill on her…

*bonk*

Sorry, not sure what happened there.

After deciding that he wasn't satisfied with the probability of the future changing, and deciding to be more prepared for things to be, Rimuru flips a coin between Eurazania and Fulbrosia, leading him to the land of the BBB, also known as the Big Booba Bird.

After meeting with Frey, the ruler of Fulbrosia, Rimuru manages to establish a formal trade agreement with her. However, before they can become true allies, Frey challenges Rimuru to a Skybound trial.

The reason being a strange prophecy given to the first queen of the harpies by a Hero from the past. One that foretold that the union of the Daughter of the Sky and the Son of the Storm would bring about the true queen of the Harpies, and would allow the Harpies to ascend to unseen heights.

*Cough cough cough* Rimuru sent his people to help Fulbrosia grow, making the towers in which the Harpies live become the actual highest points of the world. (Chapter 59, look it up if you don't believe me.) (Actually, I have been informed this is wrong, because Heaven's Tower goes higher. But that one doesn't count!)

*Cough cough* Frey and Rimuru went to space. ("unseen heights")

*Cough* Frey became a True Demon Lord. And then obtained hella OP skills. Once she figures out how to use them she's going to be broken fr fr.

Then together with his newfound fiance, Frey, Rimuru heads over to fight Charybdis. Of course, he utilizes the Magic Schoolbus technique, going inside of the flying shark and eating her from within until getting to her core and yoinking it out of that one guys' body.

Also, he rizzes up Carrion by telling him his whole city is gonna be destroyed.

Volume 3: Conning a Queen.

#savethechildren

After deciding that diplomacy was not his cup of tea, Rimuru decides to excuse himself out of his diplomatic duties by heading over to Englassia with Shizue. During which time, my goat, my queen, my Shayla!, the one and only Shuna Tempest rizzes up the people of dwargon with her girl boss skills.

In the meantime, Rimuru plays Hero by saving people, gaining the title of the Phantom Blade. As Mickey Mouse would say, "This is a surprise tool that will help us later, Huh ha!"

Nah but fr, keep that in the back of your mind. It'll become relevant again soon.

Anyways, Great Sage begins plotting after getting into her head that Heroes and Demon Lords are, in fact, not diametrically opposed beings.

Moving on, they arrive at Englassia, and using his other-worlder rizz, he convinces Yuuki to let them take the kids back to Tempest once a good portion of the construction is over. And then, going to meet with the kids, Rimuru learns that he enjoys teaching and raising kids. Which leads to him making the new goal of becoming a father.

Following the trail to Ramiris' Labyrinth, he takes the kids in, and after using his Degree in Rizzology, he befriends Ramiris, and offers her a "Friendship" contract, which she signs without reading.

It's also during this time that Rimuru "accidentally" eats the Light Spirit, creating a Pseudo light elemental for himself and a Heroes egg. Sadly, the egg doesn't work, because why would it? That would be really broken, since after all, True Demon Lords and Heroes are diametrically opposed beings.

Then, after using a perfect deflect on Chloe's confession since she is a child, he is assaulted by Chronoa, a Spirit that comes out of nowhere. Getting a smooch smooch, and the brand new skill, Clairvoyant, along with a few extra perks.

It's not long after that Ramiris discovers that she is in fact, now married to Rimuru due to some Great Sage shenanigans. And they lived happily ever after!

Volume 4: I'm a Daemon(lord), So What?

Time to summon a Daemon! But, wait, there's more!

Attempting to summon Noir early, Rimuru is surprised by the buy one get one free promotion going on at the moment, and gets Blanc for free!

Originally, she was just along for the ride, curious of what Noir was so obsessed about. But, due to the intervention of the paid actor, Blanchette, who offered her some fruit and a charming smile, she decides to stick around too.

With a little bit of shenanigans, and some tomfoolery too, Rimuru infiltrates Clayman's forces and Falmuth as well, ensuring everything goes as planned. And, after ensuring Falmuth's attack on Tempest, Rimuru does a little bit of murder.

"Ruthlessness" is mercy upon ourselves. Cool song, you should listen to it. Rimuru jammed to it while murdering Falmuth's army. And so did I while writing the chapter.

With the souls of the army, Rimuru begins his Harvest Festival… but wait, there's more! The buy one get one free promotion is still going on! With the extra souls, he also starts Frey's own Harvest Festival.

During the Festival, our silly queen Great Sage evolves into Raphael, and using her newfound powers of shenanigans, she begins to evolve Rimuru's skills. Sadly, she cannot awaken the Hero's egg in Rimuru.

Unless… unless the shenanigans afoot are not enough!

With the power of "Umm, actually" Raphael pulls a fast one on the Voice of the World by combining Frey's Harvest Festival benefits, the Unique Skill Reverser, and some soul technicalities. She is able to turn Rimuru from a Demon Slime into a Paradox Slime. Finally allowing a true Hero's egg to form inside of Rimuru.

Also, Clairvoyant evolves into Prophet. And during this time, Noir and Blanc end up falling harder than they ever have for Rimuru after seeing the process of his evolution.

In the meantime, Milim gets "mind controlled." And oops, Eurazania is gone now. BBB and Carrion were, after all, still not strong enough to defeat Milim. Sucks for Carrion, but Frey sees an opportunity, and using her Bird Rizz, she plants the idea of joining Tempest into Carrion.

Walpurgis is called, and Rimuru joins as Ramiris' guest.

During said Walpurgis, Guy Crimson acts a little sussy baka with Rimuru. Bro has a crush fr fr. But one never forgets their first, and Guy can see his bestie inside of Rimuru.

Then, Clayman begins his rizz attack on the demon lords, hoping to turn them against Rimuru. But sadly, Rimuru's innate rizz is so strong that no one really cares about what Clayman has to say. It is then that a fight between Rimuru and Clayman is called so everyone can move on with their lives.

It is during this fight that Clayman gets eaten without being able to put much of a fight. Bro thought he was smart, and now he's dead inside of Rimuru's stomach.

He died, right?

It be weird if he was still alive.

"Huh ha."

Anyways, Tempest conquers Jistav. A certain skeleton develops fanaticism for Shuna and Rimuru. And now the Dark Elves are a part of Tempest too. In addition, Rimuru picks up a new pet fox from Clayman.

Finally, Rimuru joins the ranks of the Demon Lords. Leading Guy Crimson to go home and blush and gossip to his gal pal about his pookie returning.

This strange shift in Guy's mood causes all of the Daemons around him to freak out, and, not wanting to be the reason Guy gets annoyed, they all begin to pull back from their constant attacks on the Human nations.

Volume 5: The Demon Lord Aftermath.

The vampire queen, the goddess Luminous, calls for a meeting with Rimuru. During which meeting, she hands him a note she has kept for countless years.

"The road to Englassia is filled with danger. When the time comes for diplomacy, remember those words."

Weird.

Anyways, Rimuru and Luminous strike a deal and begin their friendship, and Luminous agrees to teach him Holy Magic. Luminous is acting a bit too friendly and familiar, but that's probably just to Rimuru's innate Rizz, and definitely not because her time traveling bestie asked her to play nice.

It's also during this meeting that Rimuru and Luminous come up with a plan. They would fool the world, and with it, they would become the most influential people in the world. They would stage a war between each other, and using the war as cover, they would deepen their roots in the world.

Rimuru would take the Monsters, and Luminous would take the Humans.

But setting up a fake war takes time, so that's an issue for later.

After returning, Rimuru uses the Prophet skill to see a future he would rather avoid, which solidifies his determination to become strong and gain influence over the world. So that he may control and prevent the destruction of Tempest, and the loss of Rapahel.

Tempest, Dwargon, and Sarion strike up a deal to become allies. In the end, it turns out that having a True Dragon, Three Demon Lords, and two Primordial Daemons makes other nations afraid of you, and, in turn, more cooperative.

With the three nation alliance in place, they begin to share their own technologies and develop their future together. Inside of the Labyrinth, Tempest creates a research lab that is far more advanced than thought possible thanks to Ramiris' cooperation.

Golems, Magic, Homunculus, Summoning Vessels, amongst many other things begin their research.

"Don't you know about the bird? Sure, everybody knows that the bird is the word! Oh well, the bird, bird, the bird—" The bird gets lewded. All it took was a little heart to heart between Rimuru and Frey, and after talking and being honest with each other, they finally take the next step in their relationship.

Volume 6: Plot? Nah, I'd worldbuild.

Yuuki and the Clown's begin discussing what to do with Tempest. And, after a long discussion, they decide to take a step back from plotting against it and simply observe. In addition, Yuuki would try to appease Rimuru to get himself off his sights.

To do so, he lets Rimuru take the kids to Tempest. And it is then that we get a better picture as to how the city has been growing.

Shadows are everywhere, and though the main city is expanding rapidly, the main point of interest is the Labyrinth. Instead of turning it into a tourist attraction, the Three Amigos have been hard at work in creating Tempest's main training and research ground.

Veldora begins the Tempest sect, and unwillingly becomes a father after Rimuru uses Charybdis' core to create a new Monster. A monster named Irys, who Veldora takes under his wing to teach on the ways of how to be a proper Young Mistress. In addition to Irys, Veldora takes in two Elementals under him, Ignis and Sol.

During a routine checkup on Falmuth, Rimuru and Testarossa have a heart to heart moment, in which Testarossa shares with Rimuru her story, and the reason she is so attached to Blanchette. This interactions draws the two of them closer.

It is during this time that they visit the Empire, and Testarossa's former kingdom, which has been now left to be consumed by nature.

Then, returning to Tempest, Rimuru declares himself ruler of the Forest of Jura, and calls for all the monsters to come to him to receive their names and be formally introduced as a part of Tempest.

In this massive influx of travellers through Tempest, Tear sneaks in and joins Tempest. And, after some time of rebuilding, Carrion, king of Eurazania, appears to challenge Rimuru to a fight. A fight he promptly loses, after which, he officially joins Tempest.

In addition, Hinata Sakaguchi arrives as well, hoping to meet Rimuru to discuss their future "war." A war that Luminous dumped on her to deal with and manage. It is during her visit that the paid actor Blanchette strikes again, and, Shizue strikes directly during her opening. Visiting restaurants, hot springs, and everything Tempest has to offer, they are able to convince Hinata that Tempest is a place worth partnering with.

Meanwhile, someone in the distance is plotting against Tempest. Mariabell Rosso, granddaughter to Granbell Rosso, a former Hero and one of the most influential people in the world.

She sees the growth of Tempest and is both impressed and intimidated by it, and seeing the threat that Tempest poses, she begins to plan on a way to take them down. To paint them as the enemy, and eventually, use her control over the markets and influence to weaken Tempest. It was then that she would strike, bringing Tempest and all of it's products under her control.

However, her grandfather Granbell, warns her not to be too hasty. After all, Rimuru and his actions feel strangely familiar. Something that bothers him, since he can't explain why.

During this time, Rimuru and Luminous also have their first lesson on Holy Magic. After which, she asks for a hug from Rimuru as payment. A hug she enjoys maybe a little too much, courtesy of Asmodeus.

Finally, we get a glimpse as to the spy network that Tempest has built. Amongst which, were the few trips into the Eastern Empire. A place that was so well protected that it was hard to get any real information about. All thanks to the efforts of one man, Kondou. A man who carried a powerful pistol with him at all times.

It was due to this lack of progress in the Empire that Tempest decided to pull back momentarily to focus on the upcoming war with Luminous. However, while still keeping some superficial monitoring on the empire.

Volume 7: Gotta Catch 'Em All.

After Hiiro, a well respected Oni from the Ogre Village, appeared asking for help, Rimuru and Shuna depart to Raja to help the queen. However, before they depart, they assign Shizue and Testarossa as envoys to El Dorado to meet with Leon.

In addition, Diablo does some silly little goofs and visits Violet, asking her to join Tempest only to be denied. However, this does spark some interest in her, and she begins to take a look at Rimuru.

Jaune, the yellow primordial, also visits Violet around this time, and after some taunts from Violet, storms off to who knows where.

And you know the rest, or at least I hope you do lol.

Rimuru convinces Towa to join Tempest, and in doing so starts a fight with Violet.

The end.

Side Notes:

The Blanchette "paid actor" running joke has been something I kept hidden for a while, but I thought I might as well reveal it here since it is going over everything.

Veldora commissioned a couple of weapons. A hammer and a sword, which, will actually be relevant somewhat soon.

Rimuru is the king of Spirits.

Shizue is no longer a human, she is a Majin now.

There is a colosseum being built in Eurazania.

Your Side Notes:

If I forgot anything else you think is important, please drop a paragraph comment with it!

See y'all soon!

No chapter this week since I didn't get a chance to write. Was working 12 hour days at work with hard physical labour (I do construction lol) and when I got home I was too tired to do anything. Even worked Saturday, so today was my only day off this week.
