They found that Spirit Demons could transform filth pools, so they sought out more and more of them. At first, there weren't many people involved, but more Dao Lords joined over time, some staying in the Origin Ancestral Land for tens of thousands of years. Through repeated experiments, they confirmed that Spirit Demons could indeed transform filth pools, but only for a while constant addition of Spirit Demons was needed for control. All the Dao Lords believed that if Heaven and Earth left a sliver of hope, the Spirit Demons were it.
But they didn't realize they were creating a huge danger. After adding ten thousand Spirit Demons, the filth pool stopped changing, as if it had solidified. It no longer weakened, but now contained both Great Dao Origin Energy and Dao impurities two opposites coexisting.
A Dao Lord dove into the pool to investigate and discovered a new life form, a hybrid of Dao Wild Beast and Spirit Demon strange, yet distinct. After discussion, they decided to observe what would happen, since it was their own creation.
Xuan Zhenzi sighed, "We made a mistake that doomed us all."
They waited ten thousand years. When the creature was finally born, the world shook and all Daos resonated. They thought Heaven and Earth was celebrating, not realizing it was a warning. The creature possessed a special power, spreading along the underground rivers of filth and transforming other filth pools to have the same properties. They were overjoyed, thinking they could transform all the filth pools and cut off the source of Dao Wild Beasts.
But they didn't realize that the closer the creature got to a true filth pool, the weaker it became the pools resisted transformation. Eventually, one filth pool did change, and at that moment, the entire battlefield shifted.
The change triggered the Dao Wild Beasts to go berserk all the Beast Emperors moved out at once. At the time, only two eternal beings were guarding the inner battlefield; they held off four Beast Emperors, but three broke through.
At the same time, the Spirit Demons attacked. No one had realized how many there were or how strong they could be.
Xuan Zhenzi smiled bitterly. "Maybe we captured too many Spirit Demons, or maybe it was our karma. The Beast Emperors led the Dao Wild Beasts, allied with the Spirit Demons, and attacked us with full force."
Lin Moyu couldn't help but ask, "Why didn't you retreat back then?"
