In the Underworld, there were many gods.
At the forefront were Aether, Ceres, Kall, and Moirae, the four God-Kings. Now, Eris had ascended to God-King status as well.
Moreover, there were gods like Sparta and Mephisto, all of whom could potentially become God-Kings.
However, among all the gods of the Underworld, who holds the most unique and important position?
Hypnos and Thanatos, the twin gods, occupy a special status in the Underworld. They are of such importance to Hades that it's no exaggeration to say they are his right and left hands.
Even though it's often the God-Kings who lead in battles outside the Underworld, anyone who dares to underestimate the twin gods' importance would be nothing short of a fool.
Now, in the hearts of Persephone and Hestia, Eris showed the potential to rival the twin gods.
Indeed, this is a very high evaluation of Eris.
If Eris could truly reach that level, it would mean her status and evaluation would be exceptionally high.
Hades looked at the two goddesses and calmly said, "Since that's the case, Persephone, from today onwards, Eris will work under you. The task of exploring the unknown realms of the mythical world will be your responsibility."
Hades's tone was calm.
The Crystal Wall Gate.
The exploration of another mythical world, centered around the Crystal Wall Gate, had always been part of the Underworld's future plans.
Although the Underworld's activities had temporarily halted for various reasons, this was only a short pause.
In time, when the second Holy War concludes, along with the end of the Protagonist Wars, the exploration of other mythical worlds would become crucial.
At that point, many unpredictable things could happen.
However, it was clear that Persephone wouldn't wait until then. She knew she had to begin the next steps soon; this was an extremely important task for her.
Persephone thought for a moment, then turned to Hestia with a playful smile, "Sister, would you like to help me with this?"
"Huh?"
"Me?"
"Huh?"
Hestia blinked in confusion, clearly not expecting to be involved in this task.
At that moment, she scratched her head awkwardly and said, "I don't mind, but… well…"
"No problem," Persephone interrupted before Hestia could make excuses. "Sister, you don't need to worry. With you and me working together, there won't be any problems!"
Hestia, seeing that her sister-in-law wouldn't take no for an answer, blinked a few times and eventually nodded, saying, "Alright! No problem, but are we really going to do this with just the two of us?"
Persephone simply smiled without saying anything.
Hestia had a sinking feeling she had boarded a pirate ship, but she knew that failure was inevitable unless her brother (Hades) could take another step forward and truly ascend to the level of the Ancient Gods.
Even then, stability wasn't guaranteed, even after reaching the level of the Ancient Gods.
Thus, finding success in failure became crucial. If the failure could bring significant gains, it was worth pursuing. This principle was fundamental to the core strategies of all factions.
Soon after, Hestia rubbed her chin and remarked, "Eris is definitely suited to participate in this. After all, she now possesses God-King level power, and given her abilities…"
Hestia continued to analyze the situation, and Persephone nodded with a smile, secretly winking at Hades.
Hades maintained a calm expression, but a faint smile appeared at the corner of his mouth.
Indeed! This was pure trickery.
However, Eris's breakthrough, while a significant event in the Underworld, was also just another day in a place where breakthroughs were common.
Though it was initially shocking, everyone eventually became accustomed to it.
After all, this was the power of the Underworld. The constant rise of gods seemed like a natural occurrence, one that no longer surprised anyone.
…
In the Heavenly Realm, Bolos slowly opened his eyes. A million years had passed, and while he still held the position of God-King, he was preparing to relinquish his power with the onset of the next Holy War.
However, at this moment, Bolos smiled gently as he gazed at the gathered gods, including Hera, Ares, and others.
With a calm tone, Bolos said, "Metis, Prometheus, and Artemis have all departed."
"So…"
"For those of you who remain, do you not wish to leave as well?"
Bolos's voice was gentle, and this gentleness only made the resolve of the gods present even stronger.
The current Bolos was very different from Zeus of the past.
The gods understood that they needed to seize this opportunity. They had absolute confidence that Bolos would not repeat the mistakes of Zeus, and thus, their choice to stay was the right one.
This was the shared belief of the gods.
Bolos nodded with a smile and said, "Since you all have chosen to stay, then you must once again offer up your divine hearts."
The gods, without hesitation, raised their hands, and one by one, their divine hearts fell into Bolos's grasp.
Bolos smiled, gathering the divine hearts, and after a moment's thought, he said peacefully, "Before we proceed, let us return Hades's gift to him. I must say, I find it quite baffling that such a gift was once considered a treasure!"
