Drey's pov;
I'm together in the lab with Jade. He had been on the system since morning. Infact, it's been two weeks already since I gave him the sample and he has being analysing it. He's almost done now.
" Let's go take lunch after the analysis, I want to eat first before getting any news, good or bad". I said to him and he nodded.
' actually, I don't expect much from it'.
About 30mins later,he was done with the analysis. Now we have a credible fingerprint ready for comparison.
I wished upon wish that Diamond's fingerprint had been registered with the government. I hoped so much that it'd be successful.
We ordered our food online and it was delivered very soon.
" You like the food?". I asked him.
" Obviously. Look,I know you're nervous but try to calm down. We'll find your sis,ok?". He said munching on his food.
I sighed." I do hope so".
" I have a good feeling about this, trust me when I say that".
The rest of the lunch was silent. With each of us lost in their individual thoughts.
He finished his food first and went back to the system.
"Well, I'm sorry but there's network issue and we'll have to continue tomorrow". He said standing.
" Damn the network". I shouted madly, punching the table in rage.
" Calm down, I'm sure we'll get it tomorrow".
" Damn you too. But you f**king said you had a good feeling.
What good feeling, your stupid feeling f**king wrecked the network". I ranted.
But I know deep in my mind that it's not his his fault. I just wanted an outlet for my rage.
" Yeah, I do have a good feeling about it and I trust my instinct, it's never failed me".
" F**k your instinct. It just did. It f**king failed". I cussed punching the table again to keep my feelings in check. And it creaked.
" Calm down,will you?". He spoke in a soothing voice and I kinda calmed down a bit.
" Let's hangout". He added dragging me out of the lab.
He drove us to a club, when we were walking into the club, I bumped into someone.
" I'm so sorry". I said looking up. It's a lady.
I couldn't help but let my eyes linger on her until her I heard her voice.
" Next time, better look where you are going. You're lucky I'm in a good mood right now". She hissed, walking away.
I stared at her till she entered her car.
' she's beautiful, really beautiful and curvy and her backside...'.
" Ouch, that's painful". I retorted as Jude slapped my head.
" You are drooling".
" I'm not, really I'm not. Can't you see that girl is very rude?".
" No, I don't see that. I only see saliva trying to fall from your mouth,gross". He said wrinkling his nose.
" Whatever ".
We got a VIP room and ordered some drinks.
I put my headphones on and closed my eyes, enjoying my music until I felt a slap on my face.
" What the heck. Now,what was that?". I yelped rubbing my cheeks.
" For goodness sake. I've been calling you for so long. Were you dreaming?". He said laughing in jest.
" F**k you Jude. I hate you".
' I love you too,bro". I scoffed.
I was just about taking my second bottle when he said we should leave.
" Why? I haven't even drank my fill yet". I complained.
" I don't want you to get drunk. Why don't we go to a cinema instead".
" You are so annoying. How the hell did I get stuck with you? You are the most annoying person I've had to deal with". I hissed and entered the car.
" I think I should leave now. I wouldn't want anyone to suspect you". He said as pulled me down the car.
" Ok, just f**k off". I said nonchalantly.
" You always say the opposite of what you mean. Bye, don't miss me too much". He smirked before taking off.
Well, only him could see through me.
I took a taxi and went home on my own. I couldn't sleep all night, I kept thinking about Diamond.
' will we really have a good result this time. I'm not so sure. I miss her a lot".
It was almost morning before I could catch any sleep at all.
The next day,we met at the lab and thankfully, the network didn't give us issue.
I was sitting down on the cushions with my headphones on and eyes closed while Jade typed away on the computer.
I was carried away with the music when Jude's shout statued me back.
" Je l'ai trouvé". He shouted in French.
" What,why did you shout like that? What did you find?". I rushed taking off my headphones.
" Drey come and see. I found a matching fingerprint. I'm loading the image".
"What the hell". He shouted again.
I got there and checked for myself but what I saw shocked the living daylight out of me. I got light headed and fainted.
