Chapter 205 - Trial and Error

Chapter 205 Trial and Error

"You don't need to be so careful. I want all of you to press down as hard as you can." Lucia explained, "The people here might not be able to control their strength with these tools. I need to know if these can withstand pressure without breaking and possibly causing injury to someone's hand if something goes wrong." After her explanation, the group nodded in understanding and began testing the stylus by applying more force. As they grew more comfortable, they pushed the limits of the stylus's strength.

After a few minutes of writing on the magic board, the stylus suddenly broke, accompanied by a surprised yelp. Lucia quickly went over to check the boy's hand. It had some cuts and redness, likely from him gripping the stylus too tightly. There were a few cuts on his palm, and she immediately healed them. The boy was surprised by the healing but let it happen, understanding what she was doing since he had experienced it before.

With concern, Lucia asked, "Are you okay? Is there anything hurting right now?"

After being posed that question, the boy replied, "No, I was just surprised by how it shattered." He looked down at the now completely broken stylus, which had turned to dust with bits of shards poking out, gradually disappearing.

After confirming that the boy was okay, Lucia had much to consider. Before she delved into her thoughts, she checked the boy's magic board. Its surface was completely smooth, though she noticed some scratches and a few indentations scattered across it. From an overhead view, the imperfections were not visible. For now, she approved of the magic board but felt that the mana stylus still needed improvement.

A few minutes later, a second and third stylus had shattered, leaving behind the same dust and shard fragments as before on the table. Lucia approached the two individuals whose styluses had broken and inspected their hands. They both had a few minor cuts, but nothing serious. After healing their injuries, Lucia went through trial and error to redesign the stylus so it would fit and protect their hands. The new design was slimmer and featured beveled edges that shimmered with a glossy film.

When she handed the new styluses to the group, they were initially skeptical about the changed design. However, as they began to use them, they grew more accustomed to the new feel and found them more comfortable than the first iteration.
