The sun was high in the sky when Delilah arrived at Hunter's mansion. The gates opened slowly, and the car drove in smoothly, tires rolling over the smooth stones.
When the car stopped, Delilah stepped out, smoothing her dress and holding her little purse. She looked at the mansion with its many windows. It was quiet, peaceful, and beautiful.
She smiled when she remembered the times she had been there to see Hunter, first as Blake, and then as Hunter.
The door opened before she could ring the doorbell.
"Good morning, Miss Sterling," the chief housekeeper greeted with a warm smile. "Madam Quinn is waiting for you."
Delilah nodded politely, returning the smile as she followed her inside. The living room smelled like fresh flowers. The curtains danced gently as the wind passed through the half-open windows.
