"Yes, Master," Skye answered, eyes shining with fierce devotion. "All of it is the fruit of your divine will."

I offered no praise. There was no need. Loyalty was expected. Competence was the minimum. Instead, my gaze drifted to the distant horizon, where dark clouds loomed like memories of war.

"The demons retreated not from fear of death," I said softly, "but because they realized the souls and flesh of my chosen were no longer theirs to claim. Their instinct for chaos told them it was a waste. Yet they remain unpredictable. Monitor them closely. Never assume the abyss has no teeth left to bare."

Skye bowed. "As you command."

My eyes narrowed, golden slits glowing like twin suns beneath the storm. "And now
the Crimson Mother slinks into the shadows, her legendary dragons likely scattered and watching from the dark. Reach out to the monster clans still lurking within her former territory. With no throne to serve, and their backers hiding. Bring them here. Convert them. Bind them to my Black Nest."

His expression sharpened. "Understood."

The moment a great power retreats into silence, the loyalty of its dependents begins to waver. The Monster Clans had never been known for their devotion—only survival.

And survival, now, meant choosing the winning side.

For every monster clan we draw in and bathe in Void, another legion is born.

In life, they march beneath my banners.

In death, they become the fuel for my power.

Their blood. Their bones. Their very souls.

All will be mine.

---

Time passed, and a few days passed in the blink of an eye.

As it fermented over the course of several days, the scope of the demon's rampage expanded, causing the current level of chaos on the main continent to be much higher than the original chaos caused by the Crimson Nest.

At the same time, two pieces of news also reached my ears.

One was that I had previously ordered Skye to take advantage of this opportunity to win over the monster clans in the Crimson Nest.

And after a few days (through Any Door, the efficiency is very fast), Skye actually attracted several monster clans.

A large harpy tribe with a population of more than 30,000. This is probably the largest harpy tribe in the Tal plane.

One was the troglodyte tribe, with a population of more than 300,000. Troglodytes have a meager amount of dragon blood in their bodies. They are dragon descendants and are born to be dependents of Chromatic Dragons.

They are a race similar to lizardmen; that is why most humans even prefer to call them simply white lizardmen. They are more focused on assassination. Trogs are much more guerrilla-like, with their advantage in hiding and their poisonous aura. They're good at sneaking up on weaker people and winning unfair fights.

The strength of adult troglodytes is not weaker than that of jackals and lizardmen. In addition, these troglodytes are physically strong because of their dragon blood. Their inherited training profession is also a blood profession, which is very suitable for the power of the void.

It is estimated that before long, a powerful troglodyte army will appear in the Black Wing Lair.

Previously, there were a few thousand troglodytes in Black Wing Lair, but they were all gathered from scattered tribes. They were not strong and had no inherited professions. They were not conspicuous in Black Wing Lair.

Compared to lizardmen who had their own secondary lesion with many lizardmen in the first type of legions.

The last group to seek refuge in Black Wing Lair was a relatively rare race, and at the same time, not weak in strength — the gargoyle clan.

Gargoyles are often grouped with undead creatures by many races, because they are frequently seen mixed with necromancers and the undead.

But in fact, gargoyles are also dark creatures and are not essentially different from races such as gnolls and vampires.

Gargoyles do not need to practice. They naturally possess great strength purely by relying on their own blood. Adult gargoyles are advanced creatures and can be regarded as a quite powerful dark creature race.

There are not many gargoyles who have taken refuge — only a little more than 500. The leader of the gargoyles has reached the 19th order. In addition, there are five gargoyle sub-leaders who have reached the 15th order and above.

The strength of this monster clan is on the upper level, even among the Crimson Nest where many monster races gather.

Therefore, the gargoyle group that had just been won over was still a little arrogant. However, after its leader met the Black Dragon Lord and saw the group of muscular monsters in Black Wing Lair, they became low-key within two days.

In addition to the three major monster clans — harpies, troglodytes, and gargoyles — there are actually other monster clans that have taken refuge in the Black Nest.

But they are all scattered small clans. The total number is quite large — more than one million — but in terms of strength, they are not satisfactory and are at the level of cannon fodder.

However, Black Nest is also happy to accept these cannon fodder because with the strengthening of the power of the void, as time goes by, a group of strong warriors and elites will definitely be born among them.

I just said that there are two pieces of news. One is the surrender of the monster clan, and the other is that a large number of demons are gathering in the south of the Dark Forest and are attacking the cities of the frost elves and grassland elves.

A few years ago, the Frost Elf Queen arrived at Black Nest. After communicating, they settled on a thousand-foot snow mountain in the south of the Dark Forest.

Not long ago, the prairie elves also settled near the Frost Elf tribe.

But as the gate of the abyss opened, the demon army invaded the mainland. The grassland elves, who had just settled down and had not yet established defensive measures, had no choice but to abandon their newly built home and gather with the frost elves to resist the invasion of the demon army.

"The war began just yesterday?"

"Yes, Master," Skye confirmed with a nod. "We received a message from the Frost Elf Queen. She humbly requests that our Black Nest dispatch forces to support their defense. Naturally, she's prepared to pay—offering gold, spell-scroll knowledge, and refined magic crystals as tribute."

I let the silence linger for a heartbeat, then answered with a voice as cold as the void itself. "Send some legions there."

There was no need for further contemplation. The logic was simple—and absolute.

First, in the face of the demonic tide, they are allies by necessity. If the frost elves and the grassland tribes are left to be devoured, then the gaze of the Abyss will shift squarely onto us. The Black Wing Lair would become too prominent, too alone—and in war, isolation is death. We will have to withstand greater pressure from the demons.

Second—and more importantly—we require war.

War is the crucible in which true strength is forged.

Through endless battle, the power of the Void courses through flesh and soul—sharpened by agony, tempered by blood. Warriors ascend or fall. The fallen return their might to me, fueling the Lair's eternal hunger.

The survivors rise. They consume the enemy, feast upon demon flesh, and deliver their corpses back to the Nest—where the fodder of today becomes the fangs of tomorrow. As the weak consume demons here, they grow stronger and are ready to march on the same battlefield.

Thus, the wheel turns. The weak perish, their strength reclaimed. The strong devour their foes and ascend. And those who wait their turn grow stronger upon the bodies of the dead.

"Let the battlefield be our forge, and the fallen be our offering."

This is not mere survival. This is design.

A living engine of endless war—fueled by ambition, sustained by death, perfected by the Void.

"Glory is not inherited. It is carved into flesh and etched into history through endless war."

So let the Frost Queen beg.

Let the demons charge.

And let the cycle of blood and fire begin anew.

Additionally I'm still a little anxious to improve my strength now.

The strength of the legendary second-level peak is still very dangerous in today's chaotic continent.

Since the Dark Frost Giant Lord is a high-ranking legend, it is impossible for him not to have powerful fourth- and fifth-level legends under his command.

If I encountered a strong man of this level, I might be able to survive if I ran away immediately — but if I delayed even slightly, I probably wouldn't be able to escape.

"At least have the ability to escape from the hands of a legendary fifth-level powerhouse." I next set a goal for myself.

Now my strength is still a bit uncertain. After all, the gap between each level is vast, and each legendary powerhouse comprehends a different Legendary Truth. What if I encounter someone who has grasped a particularly terrifying truth — like Thought Beyond Time, Motion Supremacy, Eternal Moment, Dominion of the Folded Realms, Absolute Null There are even more obscure ones like Law Devourer, Shadow Crown, or Fate Carver. In the face of such powers, a single misstep could mean death.

Faced with such a strong man and the legendary truth, I had no confidence in escaping.

Whether it is instant teleportation, any door, otherworldly teleportation, or time space movement, it will take some 'activation' time.

But in front of a peak powerhouse, this moment — which may be less than 0.00000001 seconds — is a huge flaw.

"Yes." Skye nodded and followed the order.

Subsequently, the Roaring Legion, forged from savage bugbears, and the Warg Knight Legion, made up of ferocious jackal-riders, took their place. Among them stood one of the eight core legions — the Warrior Legion, evolved from goblins and greater goblin brutes, now clad in blackened armor and wielding weapons with bodies forged in void. Alongside them, the Violent Legion emerged, a rampaging tide of trolls drenched in bloodlust. The Black Claw Lizard Legion, assembled from various lizardman tribes, marched with cold-blooded precision. Three secondary legions and two elite core legions — the Black Wing Lair's sword and shield.

In total: 80,000 hardened Black Wing warriors formed the vanguard.

They stood as the core, surrounded by 300,000 monsters — beastly aberrations newly infused with the power of the Void, howling and twitching with unnatural might. 400,000 strong, they descended through the Any Gate like a flood of darkness, crashing down upon the demons attacking the two major elven tribes' lands where the abyssal front raged.

And then — the slaughter began.

War screamed across the battlefield as demon and monster clashed under skies darkened with smoke and ash. Heads rolled. Limbs tore. Souls screamed. Blood soaked the earth until the soil could drink no more.

A month passed — in blood, fire, and death.

It had been a month and a half since the Abyss Gate was torn open, and the Abyssal Horde poured into the world like an endless infection. The number of demons and dark creatures spreading across the main continent had swollen into a nightmare — an uncountable plague that defied reason.

Entire regions were purged — cities reduced to bone piles, civilizations erased. Wherever the faithless fell, their souls were devoured, leaving nothing behind but echoes of agony.

Across the land, vast zones of seething negative energy began to emerge — scars burned into the plane itself by the endless bloodshed and corruption. Demon blood. Resistance blood. All spilled without distinction. All fuel for the Abyss.

The deeper the abyssal corruption infiltrated, the more powerful the demons became in the Tal Plane. And worse — the restrictions suppressing high-level Legendary beings will began to loosen.

If the Abyss spreads beyond half the plane, then the final seal will shatter. And when it does, the Tal Plane will begin its descent...

...into damnation.

Dragon Pond.

I once again woke up from the feast strengthening, but this time, the aura exuding from my dragon body was slightly different.

I subconsciously opened the panel to check. That was the clearest thing to do.

"20?" I was slightly stunned, a little confused, but also a little surprised.

What was confusing was that I had not understood the true meaning of "legend." How did I advance to the 20th order of legend?

And the most important thing was that I did not feel that my strength had greatly improved.

I focused deeply and explored the information on the panel. Finally, the panel unexpectedly gave me feedback:

<[Biological Order: 20th Primary]

Having been transformed again and again by high-latitude power, forces beyond the veil of comprehension. No longer bound by conventional laws, your flesh has transcended mortality and become a vessel of pure, sovereign biology. Your body has finally undergone special irreversible changes. You have now embarked on a purely physical path. The laws, mysteries and metaphysical truths of lesser realms are now alien to you—ungraspable, yet devourable. You no longer seek to comprehend the cosmos; Of course, you can devour it.]>

I was stunned for a long time before I came back to my senses. The expression on the dragon's face didn't seem to know whether I should feel happy or sad.

The good news was that I was no longer bound by the so-called rules and the truth of inheritance. After all, I could no longer understand them.

What was worrying was that this would lead only to death in one way. There was no way to use the power of the void to improve my strength while still trying to understand the true meaning of legend, the rules of the world, and master all kinds of mysteries.

In a state of mixed joy and sorrow, I didn't even pay much attention to the change in the Eye of the Dark Demon—from the third level (pseudo) to the third level.

This kind of thing seemed like nothing more than a trivial matter amidst today's sudden changes.

"Now that this change has occurred, I have directly broken through to the 20th order, but my strength hasn't improved much," I pondered.

For conventional lifeforms, after breaking through to legend, the improvement in strength is divided into three parts:

1. Understanding the true meaning of legend. This is also the greatest contributor to strength improvement.

2. Transformation of energy level. This forms the second part of power enhancement.

3. The body transforms into one with energy characteristics. This is the smallest contributor to strength improvement, but it gradually weakens the vulnerabilities of legendary lifeforms as flesh and blood creatures—eventually even eliminating them—because energy lifeforms no longer have weaknesses such as a head or heart.

"I have not experienced any of these three transformations, yet I have been promoted to legend?" I was speechless.

According to the information received from the panel, my dragon body has been transformed and infiltrated by the power of the void. It has undergone irreversible changes, embarking on the path of pure flesh.

This wants me to use my body to blow up everything, I thought silently.

While thinking about it, my slight depression quickly dissipated.

After all, my core is Void Feast.

"And can this also be understood to mean that the essence of the power of the void is strong enough to reject the rules of the star worlds?" I thought from a different angle.
