Chapter 35 - Mand'alor vs Jedi Master

Petyr and his group have returned to Mandalore. The journey was relatively short. They put their Mandalorian clothes and armour back on and made their way to Keldabe. As Petyr enters his office, the call he has been expecting arrives. The Jedi Order wants to know the whereabouts of their council member. The hologram of different Jedi appears.

[Greetings, Mand'alor Baelish. Master Yoda of the Jedi Council, this is.]

"Master Yoda, what can I do for you?"

[Lost contact with one of our Masters, we have. Master Windu, you know where he is?]

"Indeed. He tried to infiltrate restricted areas and even used the Jedi Mind Trick to get his way."

[Nonsense! Blatant disrespect to claim such a thing.]

"And who are you?" Petyr asks.

[Jedi Master Ki-Adi-Mundi of the Jedi Council.]

"Well, Cerean, I usually don't discuss with mammals, no matter how humanoid they look, but I shall make an exception. The only thing that's nonsense is that a creature with binary brains can be this stupid. So why don't you shut the trap you spew nonsense out of and let the important people talk?"

[...]

[Calm down, we should. Not out for conflict, we are.]

"I am calm. And I can prove my words," Petyr says.

A moment later, the door opens, and Mace Windu is brought in, accompanied by four Mandalorian guards. These guards were copies Petyr created from True Mandalorians, so they were true warriors and not the guards the New Mandalorians used in canon. One of the guards hands Petyr Windu's lightsaber, and he holds it in his hand.

"How nice of you to join us, Master Snoop-Around. I was just telling your Council how you attempted to break into secure places and even used the Force to employ mind tricks. Care to elaborate on my claims?"

"My name is Mace Windu, and I am not a spy. You pose a serious threat to the stability of the-"

"I don't see you telling your Council the truth. Your reasoning is inconsequential, as is your personal vendetta; you may be on. Do you admit to attempting to break into restricted areas and using the Force to make the guards do what you want?" Petyr repeats.

"I was trying to ensure the rumours of your threat were unfounded. You are an unknown variable and a liar; with access to resources, no one is certain where they come from. That makes you a danger to the Republic and the freedom of Mandalore."

"You are truly as stiff as I have heard, master Nundu. So allow me to present the evidence myself," Petyr says and plays the recording which Silas recorded.

It is seen how Mace Windu approaches two Mandalorian guards and asks them to enter the building while they tell him to leave. He uses the Jedi Mind Trick more than once to confuse them, finally, after they seem to resist the mind trick for a while. The recording stops as several True Mandalorians arrive and 'arrest' Windu. Yoda doesn't seem happy about what happened, and Petyr can feel the anger from Mace Windu himself.

[Apologise for this moment, in the name of the Jedi Council, I do. Never should have happened, this incident. Hope, solve this peacefully, we can.]

"You and your Jedi Order show your colours as the partial political dogs you have become. But I have no interest in keeping this one here. Should he leave without further problems and never return, we'll have no problems," Petyr says.

[Thankful, for that I am.]

The hologram turns off, and Petyr looks at Windu. The Jedi Master did not like what he just heard and is fuming. Mace Windu is known for his grim demeanour. He holds corrupt politicians and rebellious Jedi in low regard, has very little patience for the failures of the Senate, and is disdainful of Jedi who disobey the will of the High Council. Holding the Jedi teachings as sacrosanct, Windu is suspicious of anyone he perceives to be a threat to the traditions of the Order and Petyr Baelish is seen as a threat by Windu.

"I will keep an eye on you, Mandalorian," Windu says and reaches out with the Force, wanting to pull his lightsaber into his hand.

But Petyr closes his hand, stopping the lightsaber from flying away.

"You should be careful what you say, wizard. On Mandalore, everyone can be held accountable for their words and actions. No matter if he belongs to a religious sect or not," Petyr says.

Mace Windu's jaw clenches, and his eyes narrow. He uses more power to pull his lightsaber. But it proves to be unnecessary as Petyr opens his hand. His lightsaber shoots through the sky and hits his outstretched palm. The True Mandalorians point their weapons at the Jedi, thinking that the Jedi have taken up arms against them. Mace Windu was devoted to the Jedi Order ever since his formative years as a Padawan learner. However, in his youth, he struggled to temper the frustrations he harboured over the things that offended the ideals of the Jedi, which Windu held sacred. And now, he is at a point again where he is struggling to keep his temper in check.

"You should be careful, Mandalorian."

"I don't fear the Republic's dogs."

*VROOOOM*

Mace Windu activates his purple lightsaber and looks at Petyr.

"I am surprised that your ego fits into your head. But very well, I shall gladly teach you why you should fear us."

Arla walks over to a table where a series of weapons are placed. She passes over the sword and takes the Staff of Wisdom, which Petyr took from Oogway after completing his training.

[Picture]

She hands the staff to Petyr, who takes it. The Mandalorians make space for the two fighters, who eye one another.

...

*BAMMM*

Mace Windu charges forward and strikes at Petyr, who blocks the attack with his staff. The staff is a special one and fully capable of blocking lightsaber strikes; he has ensured it. But the initial strike, as much power as the Jedi packed into it, doesn't manage to make Petyr buckle at all. He stands there, steadfast like a mountain and refuses to budge a millimetre. Mace pulls his lightsaber back and slashes it through the air, striking at Petyr again. However, Petyr repositions the staff and blocks the attack, not bothering to move around as much as Mace Windu does.

The speed of Windu's strikes increases, and his lightsaber turns into a blur for the other Mandalorians, except Arla, who can still keep up, thanks to her training. His fighting style is fast, furious and unpredictable, moving so fast that the purple lightsaber blurs further, becoming one singular line in the air. The attacks continue to be blocked by Petyr's staff, though, and the Mand'alor refuses to move more than necessary. But Petyr can't help but be impressed by the skill and power Mace Windu unleashes here. It is obvious that he is truly strong, and he can feel the thrill of the fight, which Windu uses to fuel his own strength.

Their weapons clash with one another, and Petyr starts to feel the strength Windu can unleash. However, Petyr is a skilled fighter, and while he learned the hard way from Oogway, he now uses the fastest approach to win. Usually, that is. This is not your usual situation, as Petyr wants to make a point and pull the Jedi off his high horse.

Petyr blocks another attack and deflects the weight behind the attack, turning his staff around and smashing it into the Jedi's face.

*BANG*

"URGH!"

Mace Windu flies through the air and performs a backflip, landing on his feet again. He felt the threat from the attack, thanks to precognition, but he couldn't react to it in time. That's the problem with having precognition. It is only as useful as the person wielding it. If your body can't keep up, or the precognition isn't powerful enough to warn someone long in the future, it isn't that useful. And despite what Mace Windu feels about Petyr, he is swift.

The Jedi looks at Petyr for a second and then charges again, taking an offensive position. His lightsaber follows his own Lightsaber Form, Form VII, Vaapad.

Vaapad is portrayed as more than just a fighting style; it's a mindset that navigates the murky waters of the dark side, demanding the user to enjoy the fight and relish the thrill of victory. The practitioner of Vaapad accepts their opponent's fury, transforming themselves into one half of a superconducting loop, with the other half being the opponent's innate dark power. The Jedi caution that using Vaapad can dangerously draw the user closer to the dark side due to its emphasis on physical combat. Vaapad requires a steady, significant flow of Force energy from the user, with a barely contained burst of Force power essential to all variations of Form VII.

Windu dashes around Petyr and makes a quick strike from the right, aiming to catch him off guard. But Petyr is ready and jumps into the air, swinging his staff down, aiming to hit the Jedi on the head. But Mace Windu is ready and blocks the attack, using the force of the blow and swinging his lightsaber around again. His attacks turn more ferocious, and he uses more of the Force to support himself and augment his speed and strength.

He strikes from the side and immediately pulls the lightsaber back to stab forward and move into Petyr's guard. He pushes his left hand forward. In his eyes, he sees something in front of him. He sees a shatterpoint and senses a series of key moments in the fight. He also senses the weak points of Petyr's body... and that makes his eyes widen.

...because he doesn't find any in Petyr.

He blocks the strike of Petyr's staff and presses forward, refusing to move back again. He senses the attack coming before it does, but it is still hard for the Jedi to react to it. He moves back slightly, placing his right foot back and slashing his lightsaber to the right and then to the left, blocking both ends of Petyr's staff.

Petyr, meanwhile, has seen enough. He used this fight as both a way to make a statement and to learn from the powerful Jedi and train himself. It has been a while since Petyr trained with Oogway, and ever since then, he has been the one to dictate fights and not outright participate in them. So, this is a change of pace for him. He understands that when facing a Jedi or someone who can use the Force to fight, having a plan is counterproductive, as it helps the Force user and gives them a clear edge, which is why Petyr is a natural counter to precognition. He has mastered the art of emptying his mind after achieving inner peace. In Dragon Ball, they would call it Ultra Instinct.

He moves his body back, dodging a strike rather than blocking it and swings the Staff of Wisdom through the air. The staff smashes against Windu's lightsaber. Before the Jedi can attack again, Petyr is the one to attack and takes the initiative for the first time in this fight. He moves forward, augmenting his body with his growing Chi. He uses more and more, making sure it's not visible. Through this, his attacks grow faster and stronger; he uses what he has just learned from Mace Windu and uses his own technique against him.

Vaapad utilises the user's own inner darkness and that of the opponent, transforming it into strength. But Petyr has mastered inner peace, not giving Windu a chance to do that, forcing him to fight with only his own inner darkness. But Petyr suddenly uses Vaapad as well, translated into a staff form and turns Windu's darkness against him.

Mace Windu's eyes widen again. This should be impossible, is what he thinks as the staff smashes into the side of his face and knocks him back.

*BAAM*

But Petyr doesn't grant him a moment of peace; there is no respite of any kind, and he uses the same ferociousness he knows from learning all the different styles of kung fu when he studied under Oogway. He deflects the lightsaber to the side and punches Windu in the face. He uses his staff to 'catch' the man's wrist and pulls him towards him, meeting him with a high knee and a roundhouse kick in quick succession.

Mace Windu is confused as he feels the punches and impacts of the staff rain down on him. He saw the shatterpoint, and he knew what to do... so how is it that he failed?

Petyr finally uses the Force on top of his Chi to augment his body even further and finishes the fight. His attacks aren't being blocked anymore, and Mace Windu looks like a bloody pulp rather than a Jedi Master and member of the High Council.

"So much arrogance. Granted, you are the second strongest I have ever fought, and it is a very close second as well. But still, you are mortal at the end of the day. Let this be a lesson. Everyone is to be held accountable on Mandalore. A king or a farmer, both respectively."

Mace Windu tries to attack one final time, using the Force, but Petyr is faster. The world slows down for him as he moves his fastest yet. He uses his Chi and taps Windu gently three times on his body, causing him to fall unconscious right away.

Arla walks forward, her expression hidden behind her helmet, but there is a lot of satisfaction and wonder that oozes off of her, which Petyr can feel. And another emotion, which he will not name.

"Nerve attack. I have never seen you do it. When will I learn this?" she asks.

"Whenever you like."

"Than after dinner. Or rather, tomorrow, we won't have any energy after what I have planned."

"I agree."

I hope this will be accepted from those who might not like the outcome. Whether or not, you think Oogway would win against Yoda, is not important. In my opinion, Yoda is stronger than Windu and this Petyr is stronger than Oogway. And remember Petyr has copied the abilities/skills of Jedi Master Dooku.
