Chapter 28 - Chapter 28

After venting his anger on the Chitauri soldiers who had attacked him while he was distracted by the loss of his clothes,

Peter continued looking for new enemies—at least temporarily—to test his other new abilities and upgrades that he had recently acquired.

After swinging between the destroyed buildings of New York, the result not only of the intense battles fought by the Avengers but also of the Chitauri soldiers' rampant destruction—

who were destroying and killing everything in their path, causing as much devastation as they possibly could to their surroundings—

Peter soon found his new target.

Though not exactly "new," his next target was another Leviathan flying through the city, causing as much destruction as it could.

Buildings, water towers, communication towers, massive advertising panels—nothing in its path escaped being crushed by its gigantic body.

This was a perfect target for Peter to test his new organic webbing.

Earlier, despite his small accident caused by a lack of attention, he had at least managed to test a few of his new upgrades.

His durability, strength, and reflexes had all been pushed to a new level—one he hadn't been able to reach before, even when trying his hardest.

Even if those small tests didn't allow him to show the full extent of his new body's capabilities,

they at least proved that his sleepless nights and the pain of his transformation hadn't been in vain.

Now, the only thing left to test—at least for now—was the strength, resistance, and elasticity of his webbing.

Just as the Leviathan descended to destroy another helpless building—

Thwip.

Thwip-thwip-thwip.

Several webs shot from Peter's wrists one after another without pause.

Each of them targeted the creature's massive body—something like a cross between a whale and an insect.

Every single shot landed with precision. One end latched onto the beast, while the other anchored to surrounding structures.

As the creature moved, more and more webs latched onto its body.

Thwip.

Thwip-thwip-thwip.

Like a spider trapping its prey, Peter kept firing webs while circling around the beast, adding more and more until—

Roar!

The massive creature, which had been gliding through the skies destroying everything in its path, let out a mighty roar.

But that was all it could do. Its giant body, which once moved freely through the air—was now completely immobilized.

Suspended between multiple buildings, it hung still like a helpless insect caught in a spider's web.

But in this case, it wasn't an accident—it was a deliberately orchestrated action by Peter—

Well, maybe not that orchestrated… He really just wanted to test his webs.

Wherever your eyes looked, a web connected the Leviathan's body to a building.

No matter how much the beast struggled, it couldn't break free from the webs holding it in place.

Watching this from a nearby building was Peter.

Standing on the rooftop, admiring his modern art piece titled "Fat Flying Worm Suspended" he couldn't help but think—

"Maybe I should stop trying so hard to get strong and actually become an artist… share my work with the world," he thought, placing a hand on his chin and tilting his head as he studied his masterpiece below.

"Alright, alright, jokes aside—these webs are really strong!" he said out loud.

He then jumped off the building and approached one of the many webs attached to the Leviathan.

Thum! Thum!

He plucked it like a guitar string. Despite being stretched tight like one, it showed no signs of damage or tearing.

"This is seriously amazing! Sure, I used a lot of webbing to trap it, but the resistance is just insane!" he exclaimed, a touch of excitement in his voice.

Normally, even though a spider's web is incredibly thin, it's remarkably strong—

In some cases, it's even stronger than steel in terms of tensile strength.

That means it can handle more stress before breaking than a steel wire of the same thickness.

A spider's silk, created by such a tiny creature, is truly incredible!

It can stretch up to four times its length, is extremely light, and still stronger than steel when matched in thickness.

It's a material that borders on perfection!

And that's just from a normal spider.

Now imagine what kind of web could be produced by a genetically modified one!

Peter didn't have to imagine—what stood before him was proof enough.

His new organic webs had far exceeded his expectations.

Even as the giant beast thrashed with all its might, shaking its body violently, not a single web had snapped!

Sure, some were torn away—but only because the surrounding structures couldn't withstand the strain.

He didn't determine this by guesswork—he saw the webs dangling from the Leviathan's body with chunks of building material still attached.

Seeing all this, Peter thought again to himself—

"These webs are beyond top-tier! Not only can I use them in combat to restrain enemies…"

"I could even make a new suit out of them!" Seeing the webs holding up a massive Leviathan, new possibilities flooded his mind.

After waiting a few more minutes and seeing that the beast's struggle was going nowhere, Peter decided to finally put it out of its misery.

He jumped on the Leviathan's giant head.

Tore the armour that was protecting the beast head, and with a powefull and precise punch he dug a hole through its head.

The beast giant body that was struggling, trying to escape the webs which he was traped, trembled for a brief moment before it completely stopped moving.

Seeying that the struggle movements of the Leviathan stoped.

Peter shot a web from one of his wrists at a distant building and jumped from ittnow dead body.

With all tests done all that was left for him to do was to loot the battlefield.

Now that he knew what his body was now capable off, he needed to gather some spoils for later research and transform the chitauri technology into his own.

Even though they couldn't stand against one of his punches, their technology was still years ahed of Earth's technology.
