Chapter 196 - Chapter 198: Illya: I’m the Older Sister

If it had been a normal theater, no matter how tall Heracles was, he wouldn't have been able to block the projector's light.

Unfortunately, this was just a temporary screening room set up by the crew, and they hadn't taken into account this ridiculously large guy when installing the equipment.

"Heracles, how many times do I have to tell you," Shinji said, rubbing his head helplessly. "Don't walk from the back, you'll block the projector."

"…?"

Heracles didn't seem to understand what was happening. He looked around, confused as to why everyone was staring at him.

"Hey, you muscle-bound weeble! Move aside already!"

Gilgamesh complained impatiently.

He knew that in the next moment after Berserker made his move, the scene would switch to Kotomine Kirei fighting Hassan.

"Damn it, this is the best part! I want to see Kirei make his grand entrance!"

Although in this world, Gilgamesh and Kirei didn't have any sort of master-servant relationship, they got along reasonably well.

Perhaps it was a side effect of acting in Fate/Zero, but Gilgamesh somehow always felt that Kirei had great potential.

"Hey! Muscle-bound weeble! The king commands you to move! Didn't you hear me?!"

Having had a bit too much to drink, Gilgamesh had little patience left. He pulled out Enkidu and was ready to bind Heracles and drag him aside.

At that moment, Heracles moved.

Though he was simple-minded, he took Master Shinji's warnings seriously.

"Listen, Heracles. Unless it's during a shoot, never attack other Servants. Of course, if someone tries to hit you first, that's another matter."

"■■■. (Are you trying to hit me? Then I'll fight back.)"

Compared to Gilgamesh, who was slightly tipsy, Heracles reacted much faster.

Before the golden chains could touch him, Heracles's large, fan-like hand swung out.

Smack!

Normally, getting slapped would only make someone stagger a little; rarely would it result in a KO.

But with Heracles's size, a single slap was enough to send Gilgamesh flying.

By some stroke of luck—or perhaps deliberate timing—Heracles's movement coincided with the exact moment when the projector screen showed a critical scene.

Because of the earlier incident, the screen was now showing Kirei successfully luring Hassan into using his Noble Phantasm. The priest, using his advantage of having no heart, counterattacked and pinned Hassan to a tree.

On the screen, the priest's black robe billowed as he launched himself like a cannonball toward the treetop, aiming for the insect-ridden old man above.

Meanwhile, in reality, Heracles charged toward the flying Gilgamesh.

Almost simultaneously, both the on-screen priest and the real-life hero grabbed their opponents by the head.

"Damn it, Kirei, you—!"

"Damn it, muscle-bound weeble, you—!"

"Shut up, or you'll bite your tongue."

"■■. (Master said, if you start a fight, make sure your opponent can't fight back.)"

There was no holding back.

On-screen, the priest slammed the old magus's body to the ground, breaking his bones completely. He then dragged the old man by the head and began smashing him into the wall repeatedly—physical exorcism!

Meanwhile, in reality, Heracles grabbed the golden king's body and slammed him to the ground, leaving him unable to move. He then dragged Gilgamesh by the head and smashed him into the wall—physical sobering-up!

Next, Kirei dragged the old magus's body across the wall, slowly grinding it down and physically purging the evil spirit from existence.

Outside the screen, Heracles dragged Gilgamesh out of the screening room, seemingly intending to throw the "ragdoll" into the non-burnable trash.

"Such uncanny synchronization," Shinji muttered, twitching at the corners of his mouth.

"Uh… Mr. Gilgamesh isn't seriously hurt, right?"

Akiha, sitting in her chair, trembled as she asked. She didn't understand why everyone around her was so calm.

Shouldn't such a high-level brawl immediately warrant calling an ambulance and the police?!

"He's fine. He'll be back to normal in about an hour. Servants have much better regenerative abilities than you might think," Shirou reassured her. "Strange… Didn't you notice during the shoot?"

"Notice what?"

"Every time you stabbed Rider, didn't she recover quickly afterward?"

"Sta—stabbed?! I actually did that with a spear?!"

"Of course. And to make sure you could pierce through me every time, I even adjusted my body's strength accordingly."

Rider gently pushed up her glasses and said with a soft yet eerie tone, "I bled a lot each time; it hurt quite a bit."

"That blood… that was your real blood, Medusa?! Not fake blood?!"

"Of course. Otherwise, why would it disappear after a while? It's made of ether."

"I… oh no… I can't…"

Thud.

Akiha fainted again. This time, it wasn't from embarrassment but from sheer terror.

"Are you sure this is okay?"

Shirou looked worried and turned to Shinji.

"It's fine," Shinji said casually. "She'll get used to it. Kids need to be toughened up."

"So that's why you're always playing pranks on your sister, huh?"

Shirou suddenly felt a little regretful that Sakura wasn't here today; otherwise, he could have witnessed an epic live-action battle.

◇◆◇◆◇◆◇◆◇◆◇◆◇◆◇◆◇◆◇◆◇◆◇◆

"Kirei, you're nothing but a born defect!"

"You're just someone who can't fit into the world and will always remain an outsider! Hahaha…"

The laughter on the TV gradually faded away.

After being dragged across half the wall by Kirei, Zouken Matou's body was finally ground down completely.

"Tsk, tsk. What a brutal way to die."

Shibamatsu commented with a grin.

"Is that old worm finally dead?"

Fujita joined in. In his mind, the sooner the old man commanding the skeleton-masked Servant he feared left the scene, the better.

Alice reminded him, "You should refer to him as Mr. Zouken Matou or Grandpa. He's much older than you and should be respected as an elder."

"You mean that 500-year-old monster?"

"I'm talking about the real Zouken Matou," Alice replied with a puzzled look. "Surely no one would confuse reality with fiction, right?"

Fujita wanted to argue that Alice was the real expert when it came to blending fiction and reality, but knowing her 'talk with your fists' approach, he chose to remain silent.

"That old worm should be dead," another magus speculated. "The words Kirei chanted earlier were part of a holy exorcism rite, the most powerful spirit-purging magecraft in the Church's system."

"You actually know about this stuff?"

The nearby group was surprised, as they rarely heard anything about the Church's magecraft.

"My family has some connections with the Church, so I know a little."

"Hopefully that's the case. That worm was way too disgusting."

Afraid that Alice might hear him, Fujita muttered softly.

No one paid much attention to his grumbling, though, as the screen had now entered the most thrilling battle scene of the episode.

"Illya—!"

With a desperate shout, Shirou Emiya was once again sent flying over ten meters.

The projected knight sword in his hand shattered once more.

"No—this weapon just isn't enough…"

The disparity in weapon power made it clear to Shirou that ordinary weapons couldn't possibly match this monster.

Therefore—

"Trace—on!"

An enormous sword identical to the one in the giant's hand appeared in Shirou's grasp. The two giant swords clashed against each other.

For the first time, Shirou managed to block the giant's axe-sword.

Crack.

However, before he could feel relieved, the projected sword began to crack.

"■■■—!!"

Berserker's attacks came in waves. Just as Shirou barely managed to block the first strike, the second one came immediately.

The projected weapon shattered completely, and Shirou was thrown to the ground like discarded trash.

This defeat wasn't solely due to Berserker's overwhelming strength but also because of the effect of Shirou's left arm.

The arm, originally belonging to Archer, granted Shirou power but continuously eroded his mind and soul.

Especially after using projection magecraft, Shirou felt an intense rejection between his soul and body.

"Ugh…"

"Shirou!"

Illya rushed over, anxiously checking on Shirou's condition.

"That's enough, Shirou. You know very well what will happen if you keep using Archer's magecraft."

Tears welled up in Illya's eyes as she pleaded, "It's already enough. Just run away by yourself."

But Shirou didn't back down. He stood up once again.

"Ah, really… even at a time like this, stop whining, Illya."

"Wha—?! What are you saying, Shirou?! I said that's enough! It's not too late; you can still run away by yourself!"

"Quiet! How could I do that? That would make everything pointless!"

Shirou tightly hugged Illya.

"Why—"

Illya's eyes were filled with confusion.

Shirou answered firmly, "Of course there's a reason! I decided on my own to protect you, Illya! Listen, as an older brother, I must protect my little sister!"

"Wha—?! Idiot, I'm not your little sister!"

Illya immediately retorted.

Shirou laughed. "Fool. Once you call me brother, you're my sister! Even without blood relations, you'll always be my little sister!"

"■■■—!!"

The black giant charged toward them once again.

"Here it comes!"

With a warm smile, Shirou rushed forward once more.

"You're the real fool, Shirou."

Standing behind him, Illya murmured as she watched the boy shield her.

"You could never be my brother."

"Because… in truth, I'm the older sister."

"That's how it should be, right?"

At that moment, tears fell from the girl's eyes.

"Hey, Shirou…"

Outside the screen, Illya poked Shirou's cheek playfully and teased, "Come on, call me big sister~"

"Hey," Shirou retaliated, "if everyone knew those tears were from onions, wouldn't they be disappointed?"

"Onii-chan!"

Illya huffed angrily and kicked Shirou's calf.
