My plan in mind was to enjoy by transforming into someone and do some messing around. So, the thing that came to my mind, is X men, but to the second timeline. A portal opened in the side of a road. I already stopped time inside my storage worlds. Gave some message to people inside.
I exited out of portal. My divine sense spread around extending even lightyears beyond solar system. I reduced the divine sense to be within earth.
The laws here are very weak, making me powerful than what I really am. New forms of energy cosmic energy, mana and life force, dimensional energies, psychic forces, solar energies various new energy types were detected. I could see many realities, possibly different outcomes of this timeline when I focused on space time laws. Various powerful beings were detected on earth, but none so ever near my power level. I already added negate tracking, fate and causality within my shield. With my control I could restrain my powers.
"If I punch the ground, it'll probably crack Earth's core," I muttered, restraining my power carefully. Reality, space, time—within a 200-meter range—I could bend them all with just a thought. But outside of that radius, it was trickier due to the subtle differences in the laws of this universe. "Guess I need to learn more about how this place works."
What annoyed me the most? The pollution. Air full of microbes and viruses—what a mess. My cultivation world was clean, with no room for these bacterial or viral beasts to thrive. There, the heavenly energies purify the environment, but here... everything was just crawling.
It is the year 1975.
I set out my vision to the road. Seeing the scene, I was sure there wasn't any vehicles or surveillance nearby. I walked for a while along the side roads. Few moments later..
---
The road was quiet, with only the faint hum of the car beneath the bright afternoon sun. In the backseat, eight-year-old Jean Grey sat, her mind swirling. Suddenly, the radio flickered through stations, reflecting her growing anxiety. Her mother turned to calm her, but Jean's powers surged, causing her to faint. Moments later, a pickup truck veered into their lane. Her father reacted, but the crash was brutal.
Jean blinked, dazed but alive, her mother unmoving and her father seriously injured. Panic welled up—she knew it was her fault. I approached, stepping into the chaos. With a sweep of my domain, I froze time, leaving only Jean and me in motion. I made her reappear in front of me, her wide eyes filled with confusion. Seeing my ever-changing ethereal form, she calmed down.
"..Am I dead? Mom and Dad...don't die.." she wailed. Her telekinetic shield still present.
"No," I replied, "but they will be if nothing is done."
"Are you... God?" she asked, trembling.
"Sure, if that makes you feel better. Look at what you've done, Jean."
I changed the laws to allow light to pass through in the time stopped world. She turned around to see the scene of destruction, her mother unmoving, her father gravely injured.
" Mamma... " She cried.
" Please save my mother, it's my fault..."
"I can," I said. "But you must promise to do something for me."
"Please! I'll do" Her desperation filled the frozen air.
I raised my hand, life divine dao ability coursing through me. "Then, unconditionally, you will follow my request."
With that my, pure life force surged through the people in the car and the truck driver in the opposite lane, when I raised the hand..
Like that, they were healed. From Jean Greys body cells, my divine body began to quietly absorbed knowledge of information of X genes and understand telekinesis and telepathy. Basically, the bodies of mortals cannot actively produce energy needed for these abilities, so the x gene allows them to have the ability to store, use and absorb cosmic energy or dimensional energy passively.
My telepathy could still be activated even if my soul power was restrained, as it relied on a separate energy derived from my mind and will—psychic energy. Despite my high cultivation of soul and body, I realized I had never trained my willpower. I needed to strengthen it, as the power I could exert from my psychic abilities was significantly lower than my other capabilities. Fortunately, the biological advantages of the X gene had already been copied to my abstract body, making it learnable.
I used reality manipulation to make both vehicles retrace its path before the collision.
The car flipped over and so is the truck and slowly began to fix itself, broken glass and vehicle parts connected and formed as a whole as if returning back in time due to my reality altering ability. Even the engine retraced back to its ignition stages.
Jean watched wide-eyed as everything reset, whispering, "Thank you, Jesus."
"I'm not who you think I am," I replied. "But I did help. So, Jean, now that I've helped you avoid disaster, how about I become your adopted brother? "
She blinked, confusion flashing across her face. "Adopted brother? Why would you want that? You're like… a god."
Placing my hand on her head, I smiled. "Because you already agreed to follow my request unconditionally. And I'm here to take a break from the chaos. So, what do you say?"
After a moment's hesitation, "...Yes." She nodded eagerly, a mix of excitement and confusion. It's not every day a godlike stranger asks to be your brother.
I just placed a seal on her mind which would prevent from remembering what to express, whenever she tried to say it to a third party or write it out, or even if some wants to target that memory by any means.
'well there it is. I have successfully fooled, no used a child to gain an identity. I don't have any better and convenient idea for now.'
"So, Jean no one will know of any of this, you won't have to worry anything as I am by your side from now on. So this is our little secret okay.."
I transformed resembling a 9-year-old child. The skin took on a fair, pale complexion, almost mirroring Jean Grey's, but their eyes were an unusual, mesmerizing shade of violet—radiant and sharp, as if hiding ancient knowledge. Long, straight hair, velvet red hue, similar in texture to Jean's auburn locks but with an otherworldly shine.
My armor shifted too, turning into a simple, casual outfit befitting a young American boy—jeans and a loose, light-blue t-shirt that wouldn't draw attention. Yet, despite the ordinary clothing, powerful presence, a hidden strength far beyond what their youthful appearance suggested.
In this form, they looked almost like Jean's younger brother, a shadow of her with that uncanny touch of the unknown lurking behind those purple eyes. While my physical form is based on Jean Grey's genetics, it still possesses the extraordinary strength as before to even destroy planets with a punch. Instead, I possess the strength and capabilities of a peak human. However, I can revert to my original form at any time. Additionally, my mind, though mature, brain is still that of a 9-year-old, and hormonal factors can influence my behavior. I made it intentionally just to test it out.
"So how about it ? Don't I look great?"
She came over and gave me a hug. 'Guess the kid form makes me approachable.'
Returning the hug, and separating from her, I went to the back seat of car and slide into inside. She followed behind.
I first implanted memories of me into her parents, carefully erasing any trace of the crash. Time resumed, and the car moved forward as though nothing had happened, except for Jean's mom shouting, "Nathan, don't just sleep—comfort your sister!"
"On it," I replied, giving Jean a wink. "Jean, hold my hand. Everything's fine now."
"Ah... okay, br..brotherr," she responded hesitantly, still processing everything.
Suddenly, the other driver screeched to a halt—I'd forgotten to erase his memories. Still, he'd likely chalk it up to fatigue or a strange daydream, since the vehicles showed no sign of the collision.
Jean's cheeks flushed, a mix of confusion and awe settling on her face as she tried to comprehend the powerful, mysterious figure now recognized as her brother.
'Honestly, I'm curious about what being her brother feels like in a mutant world.'
Journey went smoothly except for Jean being too tense. Later, we reached home. As days passed by, I altered my adoptive parents', neighbors', and relatives' memories to believe my adoption, when I was 3 years old. I forged an abandonment report and court orders, while manipulating the Grey family's finance records to cover adoption costs to even taxes, making them believe they saw me as their first unborn child.
I then secured a Social Security number, official ID cards, and altered government records to show I was born that year. Within a month, my new identity was complete—though it was hectic work. Charles Xavier wouldn't notice Jean's telekinetic outbursts—I made sure of that. I shielded her abilities, so no pesky telepaths would come snooping.
I despise those reality-altering mutants who can effortlessly change their identities with a simple wish. Unlike them, I must be fully conscious of any changes I make and understand the consequences. However, this also grants me absolute control over my abilities. I have a deep understanding of the universe's workings and its limitations.
Unlike those mutants who rely on universe rules themselves which will bend to their will to grant them reality altering, I am intrinsically powerful, capable of manipulating fundamental laws like space, time, and the mind by myself. This makes me virtually invulnerable to their attempts to alter reality. I have also learned about the world's singularities, the limitations of laws, and the powerful beings by simulating the worlds birth using great expanse divine dao.
I added my own rooms in the house and adjusted memories and records for those involved. It's summer vacation now. John Grey and his wife, Elaine Grey already noticed the uniqueness of their children—one displaying uncontrolled telekinesis linked to emotions, and the other showing unusual intelligence and strange behavior for his age. After a month together, Jean started treating me like her real brother, and I spent my days lounging in front of the TV, occasionally venturing into the community, enjoying this strange new life.
'Let's see how long I can keep this charade going.'
