"No, I've specifically come to see you, Ms. Yotsuya."
His direct gaze made Touko blush slightly. Mafuyu and the others all exchanged peculiar glances.
"This time, I mainly wanted to share some good news."
Rei Ao smiled lightly. "From now on, you don't have to worry about evil spirits—they've completely disappeared from this world."
"Really?"
Touko was visibly taken aback. Ever since she'd gotten Rei Ao's charms, she and Miko were no longer in direct danger of evil spirits, though she might still get startled by bumping into them while shopping. Now, suddenly hearing they were gone for good was wonderful but also puzzling.

"It's true," Rei Ao reaffirmed calmly. "And I came here also to tell you honestly that I'm not some onmyoji, nor am I originally from this world. My companions and I, including Mafuyu here, come from another world."

Fumino and Rizu were stunned at Rei Ao's boldness. Having an arm around each girl while confessing to their parent—was that really okay?

She didn't feel she had the right to meddle too deeply. But she did love Miko like her own child. If Miko left… she didn't know what she'd do.
"I'm not going to take Miko away, nor do I intend to separate you and your family. You can relax."
Reading her tension and fear, Rei Ao dispelled the mystery at once. Hearing his words, Touko visibly relaxed, her gaze softening.
"I understand, Rei Ao-kun. I won't oppose you. I only hope you'll take good care of Miko and Hana."
"Mom…"
Miko lifted her head, eyes brimming with emotional tears.
Rei Ao spoke seriously: "I'll look after them for life, and I'll look after you as well, Ms. Yotsuya."
"Huh? Me?"
Touko's heart gave a little jolt. She never expected Rei Ao would suddenly mention her.
"You're Miko's mother. I should take care of you—and have you remain with Miko and me forever. So I intend to grant you all divine rank, allowing you eternal life."
