Chapter 15 - CHAPTER : 15 : Exercise

WHOOOOP! WHOOOOP! That's the sound of the police

"Why do I hear that shit playing inside my head right now?" William mumbled to himself.

Unicorn introduced herself stutteringly. "H-Hello m-my name is... umm.... HMS Unicorn and.... this is... my... friend U-chan." She said, raising her plush Unicorn as she introduced it.

Enterprise-80 and Bunker Hill greeted her. "Hello there, Unicorn and U-chan."

Denver-856 greeted her. "Hello there, kiddo."

William greeted her with his typical greeting. "Hello there, little miss."

Laffey-200 just waved her hand and said, "Hello."

JS Maya bowed as she greeted her. "It's an honor to meet you, Miss Unicorn."

Lucas lowered himself to Unicorn's height and greeted her. "Hello there, Unicorn. Does your friend U-Chan... bite?"

Unicorn shook her head. "No."

Everyone had a WTF expression plastered on their faces after Lucas asked that. The Modern Kansens could now see some bad hints in Lucas' peculiar movements.

"Can I hold your friend for a while... please? I'll just return her." Lucas asked her to give him the Unicorn plush. Unicorn placed U-Chan in Lucas' hands with care.

"What's wrong, Lucas?" Enterprise-80 asked him, noticing him staring at the plush intently.

"My senses are sensing something odd about this plush, but... maybe it's just a regular plush Unicorn," Lucas stated, holding U-Chan.

Everyone was confused by what he just said and what was going on inside his head.

"What do you mean? It's just a plush Unicorn," Enterprise-6 said.

"Yeah, you're right. It's just a plush; this thing won't move on its own anyway." As Lucas was talking about the plush, the Unicorn plush started shaking and moving in his hands. He then let it go and summoned his M27 IAR.

"Jesus!"

U-Chan ran towards Unicorn with wide-spread hands. She hugged her U-Chan and hid behind Illustrious in a quick pace.

Lafayette yelled, seeing the same chaos happening before. "Oh boy, here we go again!"

"Whoa, whoa – hey! Calm your horses there," Arizona intervened, preventing what could have become a Marine Corps Piñata Popping.

Enterprise-80 rebuked him from shooting the pet Unicorn. "Could you please stop shooting things that are out of place? We are in a weird world for once; please... stop... shooting!"

She held her temple as she tried to cool off from the stress her colleagues were giving her. She knew being a commanding officer was a pain in the ass, but this was too much pain, to say the least.

"Yes, ma'am."

Lucas lowered his M27 IAR and unsummoned it. He then turned his attention to Unicorn and apologized. "Sorry, Unicorn, I kinda have a bad habit of shooting... weird stuff."

Unicorn forgave him for being honest; she knew they were all new to the differences of this world.

"That's quite a weird one, a plush Unicorn came to life like a pet," William uttered, considering the possibilities.

To ease up some of the misunderstanding, Enterprise-80 explained to them their first encounter with the Manjuu and how Lucas almost shot all the Manjuu inside his ship. Everyone just laughed at the story of how the Modern Kansens almost killed their Manjuu; it was hilarious.

Cleveland asked. "Why do you guys always have the habit of shooting weird stuff? Isn't that bad?" Every shipgirl agreed with Cleveland.

Denver-856 responded, as her inner American surfaced. "That's quite un-American—I mean, un-Eagle Union of you, Cleve-bro. We shoot weird stuff because of the Second Amendment—baby."

Arizona teared up while clapping his hands, after hearing the mention of the Second Amendment. "That is beautiful."

"He's kinda weird," BB Arizona said, finding it goofy.

"Well, at least he isn't a pervert," Pennsylvania said.

One of the maids among the Royal Navy fixed her gaze on him with apprehension; she sensed something odd about this person. Beneath the facade of goofiness and stoicism lay a monster.

The Battlecruiser Sisters introduced themselves next. "My name is HMS Renown, and this is my sister HMS Repulse."

The blond-haired woman was Renown, and the brown-haired woman was Repulse.

Repulse greeted them. "Hello."

Essex-12 and JS Maya whispered to each other. "These two are like polar opposites."

"Why?" JS Maya asked.

"The older sister is serious, and the younger sister is the cheerful and playful one," Essex-12 said.

A purple-haired girl with a javelin in hand introduced herself. "Hi, my name is HMS Javelin of the J-Class Destroyer."

Denver-856 stared at her spear and asked. "Is that a javelin you're holding, Javelin?"

Lucas and Essex-12 chimed in. "Seems like it."

Javelin responded, lifting it up. "Yes, it is."

Denver-856, Lucas, and Essex-12 glanced at each other and grinned as they planned something stupid.

"Oh boy, here we go again," William mumbled to himself.

Essex-12 summoned an FGM-148 Javelin anti-tank missile. "This baby is our FGM-148 Javelin. This thing is America's answer to every armored problems."

"Whoaaa..." Javelin's eyes glowed with sparkles and amazement at the sight of the FGM-148 Javelin.

"I think that's enough showing off, you two," Enterprise-80 stopped them from showing off any further.

Essex-12 unsummoned her FGM-148 Javelin, then crossed her arms and pouted. "Booo...."

"I apologize for the inappropriate conduct of my subordinates; sometimes they act like a bunch of children, Sir Philips," Bunker Hill apologized. She really took her role as secretary seriously.

"Oh, no need to apologize. I'm used to it," Adm. Philips said, having been surrounded by literal children and teenagers at the base the whole time.

He then motioned for the maids to introduce themselves next to their new allies.

Cruiser Belfast introduced herself first as she represented the head maid. She lifted her skirt at each side and bowed.

"Greetings, my name is HMS Belfast, 2nd of the Town-class cruisers. I'm also the head maid of the Royal Navy."

Frigate Belfast looked amazed at her counterpart for being polite and elegant at the same time. "Not bad."

The men, meanwhile, now had a comparison they could use to identify the others, by physique comparison.

"Head maid?" Enterprise-80 asked.

Belfast-90 answered for her. "Head maid is a senior title given to a house maid. They are tasked with allocating house duties and keeping important things such as house keys. Sometimes overseeing other maids' duties."

"I see..." Enterprise-80 nodded slowly.

Cruiser Belfast smiled and nodded. "Precisely what she said. I'm responsible for allocating house duties to the other maids and keeping important things. But we maids have more important jobs like—."

"Like royal butt wiper," Laffey-200 said bluntly in front of the maids, cutting in.

"Yes. Like royal butt—pardon?!" Cruiser Belfast recalibrated her response in surprise at her bluntness.

The Royal Navy Girls gasped, knowing what it all meant. Dark aura formed around Cruiser Belfast as she didn't quite take that insult lightly. All the maids had also been tasked with wiping Queen Elizabeth's (Battleship) bottom.

"Great, she's pissed," Enterprise-6 said, seeing veins popping on Cruiser Belfast's face.

Eagle Union Shipgirls laughed. The two Admirals tried to hide their laughter, chuckling. Enterprise-80 face-palmed; she had planned the whole meeting to be pleasant, but now everyone was throwing puns and jokes.

Bunker Hill apologized for the bluntness of the death bunny. "I apologize for her misconduct. She's quite a wild card to us."

"Oh, I see.... Now I understand," Cruiser Belfast said, her menacing demeanor vanishing and replaced with her typical aura of professionalism. She then looked at Laffey-200.

"You better keep your manners in check, especially in front of her Majesty. She's quite hardheaded sometimes," she said as a warning.

Laffey-200 had a face of not giving any crap about that, maintaining her 'not give a crap chibi face' at her.

Cruiser Belfast thought, seeing her glowing red eyes, she reminded her of someone. 'Why am I having a feeling that this modern Kansen is more dangerous than Roon? Her stare is startling me.'

She then recomposed herself and let the embarrassment of the situation slide, continuing her introduction of her sisters next.

"This is my sister HMS Edinburgh, 1st of the Town-Class Cruisers."

Edinburgh greeted them with her typical greeting, stuttering and fixing her glasses. "I-It's n-nice to meet-you."

Bunker Hill thought, observing her. 'How could the first of class of ships be so... clumsy?'

Lucas glanced down at her skirt and noticed something sticking out. 'Why are there gold ingots sticking out of her skirt?'

"Are those...? Gold ingots?" Arizona had never felt so tripped out.

"And this is HMS Sheffield, 5th of the Southampton-Class Cruiser."

Sheffield greeted them with her typical greeting, stoic and cold personality. "Hello. It's nice to meet you."

"Damn, too cold," Denver-856 commented, shivering along.

Arizona turned sharp as the name of the person who had been giving him a glance for the past minute of the introduction. He didn't know why, but he had a gut feeling that she could see through him, and what lay beneath him.

His appearance was just a shell of a monster that lay at the deepest depths of the ocean, a monster that lay and waited, with devastating powers.

Lucas leaned to his side and whispered to him. "Bro, looks like she's into you."

Arizona replied back. "Nah, more like she's into something." He said in a humorous tone, but his gaze was still fixated on her, as was hers on him.

"Good luck then," Lucas said, noticing the two had a staring contest going on.

Sheffield thought. 'This guy is giving me chills. I must keep an eye on him; his breathing is controlled, his gaze is fixated on me. He knows that I've been looking at him for the past minute; he's dangerous.'

Behind her back was her pistol with three gun turrets; she gripped the handle tightly, and her trigger finger was right next to the trigger, ready to be pulled if the need to take him down arose.

As a Cruiser with ASW, she felt unease and concern about the total silence of the Nuclear Submarine, but what raised her hair was the information he dumped about the Virginia-class. Truly frightening.

"I think that's all of them," Adm. Nimitz said. "Let's go inside the building to continue further discussions and explanations."

As Adm. Nimitz was about to head to the main building, Cleveland called out to get his attention. "Admiral?"

"What is it, Cleveland? Do you need something?" Adm. Nimitz asked.

"Admiral, can we have a naval exercise with the Modern Kansens? We want to know any of their capabilities," Cleveland requested, a grin plastered on her face.

Adm. Nimitz paused and looked at Adm. Philips, then returned his gaze to her. "Sorry, Cleveland. I don't know if the Modern Kansens wanted to--."

Enterprise-80 cut in. "This is great. We really wanted to test our weapons as 'Kansens' in a real-life scenario."

She then looked at Lucas and Lafayette. "Lucas, Lafayette, I want the two of you to participate in this exercise. Ready your ships in 30 minutes."

Lucas and Lafayette complied with a salute. "Yes, ma'am." They then headed to their respective ships to prepare for the naval exercise.

Enterprise-80 then turned her attention back to the admiral. "Sorry about the inconvenience, Admiral. I just really wanted to test our newfound 'Kansen' capability," she said.

Adm. Nimitz and Adm. Philips agreed to her proposed naval exercise; they were also eager to know their capabilities too. And there was no other way to learn the Modern Kansens' capability other than a live-fire naval exercise.

Adm. Nimitz then addressed the whole Azur Lane Base through radio comms placed all over the naval base.

"Ladies, today we will have a fleet naval exercise with the Modern Kansens at the base training grounds. The event is going to start at 1500 hours this afternoon. This is quite an unexpected event... So, I want you all to be prepared."

Azur Lane Shipgirls at the base who heard the announcement cheered, as they were also curious and wanted to see the modern Kansens' capability in a real-life battle scenario.

After his announcement was received, he then looked at Cleveland, who was staring up at him. "Get ready. You and your sisters are going to participate in surface combat."

Cleveland acknowledged and went to her sisters to inform them about their participation in the naval exercise.

3:00 PM Azur Lane Base

Enterprise-80, Frigate Belfast, and Bunker Hill were preparing the Projector where they were all going to watch the whole exercise live-fed from one of the drones loitering above the naval exercise.

Everyone looked at the projector and stared at the projected image in the live feed; they were all amazed at how clear and colorful the image being projected was compared to the black and white projectors they had been accustomed to watching.

"So, it's live?" Adm. Philips asked, never having seen a video being projected recorded live.

Bunker Hill answered. "Yes, we are currently watching the exercise live through the drone video feed."

Unicorn asked in concern. "Do you think Big Brother Lucas and Lafayette can win?"

Denver-856 was the one who answered, reassuring her concerns. "Don't worry, little one. You're about to see a big blast."

Unicorn was confused about what she was referring to as a big blast and just nodded.

Arizona, arms crossed, spoke. "I hope those idiots don't do anything stupid that goes out of proportion."

William chimed in. "They better off not to," he said, lighting his cigar.

"Let's just watch what shit they might bring to the table," Essex-12 said, as she and the others anticipated some American explosion.

Everyone was also anticipating the same naval battle and tactics they knew, but their opponent was Modern Vessels born in the era of warfare where seconds mattered, and reaction time was crucial.

Lucas and Lafayette in their riggings formed and floated on their feet like walking on water. Five kilometers away from their position, the Clevelands stood in their rigging, waiting for the signal to start.

Lucas' right rigging was his Mk45 naval gun and 32 VLS cells, his left rigging was his 64 VLS cells and RIM-116, and his rear rigging was the Aegis radar (SPY-6) and tripod mast

Lucas' right rigging was his Mk45 naval gun and 32 VLS cells, his left rigging was his 64 VLS cells and RIM-116, and his rear rigging was the Aegis radar (SPY-6) and tripod mast

Lafayette's right rigging was his Bofors 57mm naval automatic gun L/70 and RIM-116, his left rigging was 32 VLS cells and 16 naval strike missile box launchers, and his rear rigging was the Enterprise Air Surveillance Radar and a tripod mast. He resembled Lucas but smaller.

"The girls at the base said you girls are good at naval gunnery. Is it true?" Lucas asked over the open comms.

"Yes, do you really want to find out?" Cleveland responded over the comms with full confidence.

"Let's see about that," Lucas said in a cocky tone.

"Um... is this how you exercise in naval gunnery? Because it's too close for us," Lafayette asked.

London then announced over the radio tower about the start of the naval exercise. "Okay. To the participants, the exercise will start now!" then a resounding horn blew at the radio tower, indicating the start of the naval exercise.

After the sound of the horn, Cleveland ordered the commencement, "FIRE!"

Columbia, Montpelier, and Denver followed the orders and raised their MK-16 naval guns and fired. A salvo of 6-inch shells flew out of the barrel of the 6-inch gun-cannon of the Clevelands.

Lucas' onboard Aegis Combat System activated and tracked the salvo of 6-inch shells fired by the Clevelands. "Kid, did you receive my data link?" He radioed.

"Yes, I got the link," Lafayette replied over the radio.

"Good. Now follow my lead." The AI onboard created a digital map where the 6-inch shells would impact and predicted the ballistic trajectory of each shell being fired.

"Roger that." The two then made a hard turn to avoid the raining 6-inch shells that fell several meters away from them.

The Destroyer and Frigate navigated through the ocean's surface, avoiding raining 6-inch shells. The 6-inch shells being fired at them were all practice rounds, but the rising plumes of water and the realism of the exercise got the two pumped up.

"Whoa, this is better than RIMPAC," Lucas exclaimed, navigating through the raining shells.

"Yeah. It really is better," Lafayette added.

The Clevelands, meanwhile, continued blasting barrage after barrage with their Mk-16 naval guns, but to no avail. All of their shots missed and were completely avoided by the two. They didn't expect them to avoid the barrage of shells they had been throwing at them; they also didn't return fire.

The two Modern Kansens avoided all the shots that had been thrown at them by the Cleveland Sisters. The Aegis Combat System detected and calculated the ballistic trajectory of each 6-inch shells and created an artificial map where the two Kansens could sail away from the shell's impacted point.

"Whoa, they avoided all our attacks!" Denver yelled in reaction to them predicting their shells' impact point.

"Why aren't they firing? Are they trying to get closer?" Montpelier exclaimed, annoyed at the two for avoiding their fire and not returning it.

"How did they avoid all of our attacks?!" Columbia asked in surprise.

"I don't know how they can do that!" Cleveland shouted.

'How could they avoid our barrage? According to my radar and fire control, my aim should be hitting one of them by now, but how? How did they avoid it?' Her mind raced to find an answer to why they couldn't hit them.

Cleveland then ordered her sisters. "Okay, girls, let's do our famous firing technique formation."

"Roger that."

The Clevelands formed a single line for a full broadside. They then started firing all of their guns, ranging from 6-inch to 5-inch guns. But even if they increased the volley fire, they easily dodged it, and some got intercepted mid-air.

That mid-air interception surprised them. They didn't expect them to intercept a 6-inch projectiles mid-air. After a relentless minute of bombardment, they heard music playing on their radio.

*America.... America.... *

"What! They are broadcasting a song right here, right now!" Montpelier exclaimed, totally annoyed.

"Let's just listen. Nothing stupid will happen, right?" Columbia said, curious about the song being broadcasted.

They all listened to the music being broadcasted.

AMERICA, FUCK YEAH! Comin' again to save the motherfucking day, Yeah!

Before the four Cleveland sisters could fully react to the song, they were hit by 5-inch practice rounds coming from Lucas' MK-45 naval gun with 100% accuracy. Denver was the first to be hit, followed by Montpelier and Columbia.

"Everyone, evade!" The last one to be hit was Cleveland, after she gave the order.

The battle was over after Lucas fired his MK 45 Naval Gun with the help of his onboard Aegis Combat System and advanced fire control. The Aegis Combat System tracked and monitored the next movement of the Cleveland Sisters and made a calculation with the rounds being fired.

"Thank God it's all dummy rounds. I don't know what would happen if those were real rounds," Lucas muttered to himself after seeing all rounds hit the four targets simultaneously.

Before the start of the exercise, Enterprise ordered the two to use only dummy rounds or practice rounds provided by the naval base for this naval exercise.

Azur Lane Naval Base

"Go! Clevelands! Go...!"

San Diego cheered for the Cleveland Sisters to win the match. The whole exercise was in full swing, as the Cleveland Sisters fired barrage after barrage of 6-inch shells. The whole action was being projected on the projector.

"I miss the days when Cruisers still had some Big Guns," Bunker Hill said, watching the video feed. Everyone heard what she said and listened carefully.

"What do you mean, Miss Bunker Hill?" Cruiser Belfast asked curiously.

"Cruisers and any types of Warships, in general, are all missile-based and not gun-based anymore," Bunker Hill explained.

"Why would they do that?" Wales asked, finding it odd for a Warship not to be gun-based anymore.

"Because we fight at very long ranges that guns could not reach, making the big guns obsolete. Modern Missiles have more range than guns, so all warships have been Missile-Based since the 50s."

"That's quite a drastic change," Adm. Nimitz commented.

"Yes. It's quite a drastic change that shaped the cruiser's shape and role in general."

They then heard music blasted on the comms, where they could hear the broadcasting. Everyone shut their mouths and listened to the music.

*America.... America.... *

Bunker Hill's expression darkened; only the lens of her reading glasses was visible. Her expression was a sign that something went wrong. The naval officers and shipgirls noticed the drastic change in her expression.

"Is something wrong, Miss Bunker Hill?" Hood asked, her expression quite foreboding.

"Oh, dear...." William uttered, knowing what was coming next.

Enterprise-80 covered Unicorn's ears, as the context of the song was not for innocent kids to hear. Unicorn looked at her confused; Enterprise-80 just smiled at her.

"Is this a song about your country?" Adm. Nimitz asked.

"That's quite patriotic," Hood remarked, sipping her tea.

JS Maya looked down and muttered under her breath, "Oh no."

Denver-856 just grinned, waiting for their reaction. She then placed a camera in front to record their reaction to this song.

Laffey-200 just stood up, raised her two hands in the air, rock 'n' roll. Everyone looked at her confused. She then yelled, "AMERICA, FUCK YEAH!"

AMERICA, FUCK YEAH!

Comin' again to save the motherfucking day, Yeah!

AMERICA, FUCK YEAH! Freedom is the only way. Yeah!

Terrorists your game is through, 'cause now you have to answer to....

AMERICA, FUCK YEAH!

The Royal Navy Shipgirls spat their tea, and the Eagle Union just jaw-dropped, but Pennsylvania and Hornet were singing along to the catchy song.

After the music stopped, they also saw that the Cleveland Sisters were all hit and out of the fight. They were all shocked to see the Cleveland sisters hit by a single round each with 100% accuracy.

"Ha, ha, ha. You did it, you son of a bitch, you finally did it!" Essex shouted.

Arizona couldn't hold it off and laughed. The "America, Fuck Yeah" song and the Royal Navy's reaction made him break character. "Ha, ha, ha, ha. That's quite an epic proportion."

London announced over the radio tower, her voice shaking in pure shock. "L-Looks like... t-the victor is... Lucas and Lafayette."

"H-How? How did they lose?" San Diego murmured, kneeling on the floor, looking down in defeat.

"That was the most accurate naval gunnery I've ever seen. Besides from that song!" Hood commented after cleaning herself from spitting her tea.

"Yes. It is indeed, Lady Hood," Wales added.

"Can you please elaborate on what Lucas did, Miss Enterprise?" Adm. Nimitz asked, examining every shot and drawing a conclusion.

Enterprise-80 explained the Aegis combat system onboard Lucas, how it all worked and functioned.

"So... you're telling me the whole exercise was a one-sided battle the whole time?!" Adm. Philips asked in disbelief about the power of Aegis-equipped ships.

"Yes. I just wanted to know how the boys would react to their newfound capabilities as Kansens. And they performed exceptionally well, more than I ever expected. I don't want the boys to be sloppy in their new Kansen capabilities," Enterprise-80 revealed her true intention.

Enterprise-6 interjected. "If he's capable of defeating four cruisers at once, how would their 'flagship' perform?" She then gazed at her.

"Are you challenging me?" Enterprise-80 asked, staring directly at her.

"Yes," Enterprise-6 replied confidently.

Laffey-200 and Laffey-459 cheered. "Fight, fight, fight, fight!"

Javelin yelled. "Laffey, no...!"

The two admirals tried to stop the two carriers from fighting, but to no avail. They were determined to prove themselves.

"Sister, you can't fight her. You're too injured from the last battle with the Sakura Empire," Hornet said in concern.

"I'm fine. Just don't tell Yorktown, okay..." Enterprise-6 said.

"Guns only?" Enterprise-80 said.

"Fine. Guns only." The two Enterprises agreed on guns only, but nobody said how many guns could be brought into the fight.

Essex, Denver-856, and Arizona muttered under their breath. "R.I.P. CV-6"

Hornet leaned to her side and whispered to Denver-856. "Do you think my sister would stand a chance?"

Denver-856 whispered back. "If she closed her eyes maybe—oops, I forgot the radar. Yeah... nope." She said straightforwardly.

"Alright. If one of you dies, don't call me. I'm not a fucking necromancer." William then left the room and headed to his ship.

Training Area

Both Lucas and Lafayette sailed towards the Cleveland sisters' location to see if they were alright after the naval exercise. The Cleveland sisters were just standing there, totally shocked by the result of the one-sided naval exercise.

"Hey, are you guys alright?" Lucas asked, somewhat afraid of their response.

"H-How? How can you hit like that so accurately! That was awesome," Cleveland shouted, with sparkling stars in her eyes.

This wasn't what he was expecting from them, but that was okay. He really hated to see them upset about the result.

"You guys aren't angry?" Lucas asked again.

The Cleveland Sisters shook their heads and asked him more and more questions about his advanced fire control and how accurate they were.

"That's enough questions, girls. I'm only one man here," Lucas said, as he escaped the mountain of questions the Cleveland sisters were giving him. "Hey, kid, help me."

"Great. I'm just here for insurance purposes, huh," Lafayette murmured to himself.

The Cleveland Sisters then heard a faint jet engine noise getting closer and closer to their location. Lucas and Lafayette detected the aircraft and checked the IFF identification of the aircraft.

"Umm... guys, you should look at this," Columbia said, pointing in the direction of three jet aircraft chasing eight F4F Wildcats.

"Is that a Siren plane?" Denver asked.

"No. I don't think it's a Siren plane. What could it be?" Cleveland said, somewhat confused about the identification while looking at the three aircraft.

"Are those... Super Hornets?" Lafayette asked.

"Yup. Seems like it," Lucas replied.

"WHAT!" The Cleveland Sisters shouted in unison after learning the name of the jet aircraft chasing the eight F4F Wildcats.

"Don't blink, ladies. You don't want to miss out the best airshow in history," Lucas remarked, as they watched the airshow being conducted above.

Skies above Azur Lane

"Hey! I thought we were just using guns only, but what the hell was that?!" Enterprise-6 exclaimed, as she was chased by three Super Hornets.

She was standing on one of the lead Wildcats, as she usually did in every battle, while seven Wildcats protected her tail from the chasing Super Hornets.

"Sorry. You weren't specific about the rules. You only agreed to guns only, but you didn't specify how many guns I had to bring," Enterprise-80 said, as she chased the eight Wildcats. She was also standing on one of the lead Super Hornets, as she chased the lead Wildcat where Enterprise-6 was.

The Super Hornets that Enterprise-80 was using were equipped with three gun pods, one on each wing pylon and one under its belly, for a total of three gun pods and one nose-mounted M61 Vulcan Cannon.

"Damn it! I launched an entire squadron, and it was gunned down by her three aircraft," Enterprise-6 cursed under her breath, seeing an entire squadron of Wildcats reduced to eight.

She then ordered her remaining eight Wildcats to hit their maximum speed of 512km/h to outrun their pursuers. The two Wildcats on her side broke formation to distract the two chasing Super Hornets.

Enterprise-80 noticed this trick and immediately ordered her two Super Hornets to hit their afterburners and start cutting down the four Wildcats with their M61 Vulcan cannons and gun pods.

The four Wildcats turned into Swiss cheese for a second before bursting into fireballs and falling from the sky, hitting the ocean's surface with huge splashes and plumes of smoke rising from the downed wrecks.

Enterprise-6's lead Wildcat and its three last remaining Wildcats were the only ones left combat-capable in the sky. 'Damn, that was quick,' she thought, as she tried to outrun them, but to no avail.

"I'm sorry, Gran-gran. This is the end," Enterprise-80 stated, as she then ordered the two Super Hornets to shoot down the lead Wildcat and its three remaining escorts.

The Super Hornets hit their afterburners to maximize their speed while chasing the fleeing Wildcats. The four remaining Wildcats in the air simultaneously exploded as a hail of lead from the Super Hornets cut them down mercilessly.

Inside the Azur Lane Base, everyone gasped at what they just saw in the video feed of Enterprise-6's Wildcats being shot down effortlessly in aerial combat.

Enterprise-6's Wildcat was hit and started to descend, smoke coming out of the 20mm bullet holes in the tail of the Aircraft. The whole scene went into slow motion as she fell along with her three Wildcats.

'So I was defeated by my counterpart's successor, huh? I guess this is my limit?' she then closed her eyes. 'This feeling? Yeah, this is the same feeling when I first met that "woman."'

Enterprise-6 remembered the time when she met Code-G and how she acquired another unique skill that was far superior to her Skill: Lucky E.

Enterprise-80 saw her fall and ordered her lead Super Hornet, where she stood, to speed up and dive down toward her. In the blink of an eye, she was able to catch her in a princess carry style before she hit the ocean's surface.

"Sorry about that. I kinda got carried away, Gran-gran," Enterprise-80 said, as she carried her.

"Could you please not call me that! I'm still too young, by the way... I'm sorry for underestimating you for lacking any combat experience," Enterprise-6 apologized to her.

"It's alright... Can you promise me that you will be there when she is commissioned?" Enterprise-80 remarked.

"Who?" Enterprise-6 asked in confusion, but then it clicked in her mind who she was referring to. "Yes. I will be there for her."

"Is that a promise?" Enterprise-80 asked again, to confirm.

"Yes. It's a promise," Enterprise-6 replied.

"Okay then... Let's return to the base. Everyone must be worried."

"Yeah..."

The three Super Hornets flew toward the Azur Lane Base, with the setting sun in the background creating the most iconic scene in every aircraft video and photograph.

After they landed on the carrier flight deck, a very angry Yorktown was waiting for them on the deck, arms crossed, feet tapping excessively, and eyebrows furrowed.

Without missing any opportunity to scold them, Yorktown pinched both Enterprises' ears for their crazy stunt.
