Chapter 27 - New day

The room was quiet, the only sound the faint crackle of the fireplace casting a warm glow across the walls. Ahicia's heart raced as Damian closed the distance between them, his movements slow and deliberate. His gaze was intense, pinning her in place as though she were the only thing that mattered in the world.

"Ahicia," he murmured, his voice deep and low, sending a shiver down her spine.

She swallowed, her hands fidgeting at her sides before she found the courage to look up at him. "Yes?"

"Are you afraid of me?" His question was unexpected, his tone soft yet weighted with something she couldn't quite place.

"No," she replied, her voice steady. "I'm not afraid of you, Damian."

He stepped closer, his large frame towering over her, but instead of feeling overwhelmed, she felt safe, cocooned in his presence. His hand reached out, brushing a stray lock of hair from her face, his touch lingering against her cheek.

"I can feel your heart racing," he said, his lips quirking in a faint smile. "Are you sure it's not fear?"

She shook her head, her cheeks flushing. "It's not fear."

His smile deepened, and before she could say another word, he leaned in, capturing her lips in a kiss that stole her breath. It was slow and exploratory at first, his lips moving against hers with a tenderness that belied the strength he usually exuded. But as the seconds passed, the kiss deepened, becoming more fervent, more consuming.

Ahicia's hands found their way to his chest, her fingers curling into the fabric of his shirt as she leaned into him. Damian's arms wrapped around her, pulling her closer until there was no space left between them. His lips moved against hers with a growing urgency, each kiss igniting a fire within her that she hadn't known existed.

When they finally broke apart, both of them were breathing heavily, their foreheads pressed together as they tried to steady themselves.

"Damian," she whispered, her voice trembling but filled with determination.

His eyes searched hers, his hand coming up to cradle her face. "Tell me to stop, and I will."

She shook her head, her fingers gripping his shirt tighter. "Don't stop."

With a low growl of approval, Damian kissed her again, this time with a hunger that left no doubt about his intentions. He lifted her effortlessly, carrying her to the bed as though she weighed nothing.

Ahicia's breath hitched as he laid her down, his hands moving to the buttons of his shirt. Her eyes widened as he shrugged it off, revealing the hard planes of his chest and the scars that told stories she wasn't ready to ask about yet.

"You're staring," he said, a hint of amusement in his tone.

She blushed but didn't look away. "You're hard to ignore."

His lips quirked into a smirk before he leaned over her, his hands bracing on either side of her. "The feeling is mutual."

His hands traced the curve of her waist, his touch both reverent and possessive. Ahicia gasped as his lips found her neck, his teeth grazing the sensitive skin there. A soft growl escaped him, his alpha instincts clearly rising to the surface, but he kept his movements controlled, his focus entirely on her.

The air around them seemed to shift, their pheromones mixing into an intoxicating blend that made her head spin. Ahicia's omega instincts flared in response, her body reacting to his in ways that felt both natural and overwhelming.

"Damian," she murmured, her voice barely audible.

He pulled back just enough to look at her, his expression softer now, though no less intense. "Are you alright?"

She nodded, her hand reaching up to touch his face. "I'm with you. I'm more than alright."

He smiled, his lips brushing against hers in a kiss that was gentler this time, filled with unspoken promises. As the night wore on, they explored the uncharted territory of their bond, their connection growing deeper with every touch, every kiss, and every shared breath.

By the time the first light of dawn crept through the curtains, Damian held Ahicia close, their bodies and hearts entwined. The world outside faded away, leaving only the two of them in their newfound understanding of each other.
