The next day, John Brown drove Melody Yoody and Little Grace to YODC City because Melody had to report to the City Council in the morning. They left City Center around four, and surprisingly, Little Grace was also up early. It was impossible to leave her behind.
There were only three people in the car. Little Grace sat in the back, leaning between the two front seats and grinning, saying, "Brother-in-law, I have something to ask my cousin. You don't mind, do you?"
John Brown knew what she wanted to ask, so he chuckled and said, "Go ahead."
Little Grace saw that John truly had no objections and realized that Melody must be aware of the situation. Still, she asked, "Cousin, do you know Charlotte?"
Melody turned and gave John a look before replying to Little Grace, "How could I not know? Isn't she your friend? You must be aware of her relationship with James."
