Shimizu seemed to transform into an arrow forged from lightning, the sound like the cry of a thousand birds and the sharp whoosh of a speeding arrow as he launched toward his target with terrifying momentum.
Zzt! Zzt! Zzt! Zzt!
Four Kumogakure shinobi were struck before they could even react, pierced through by Chidori. Their flesh and blood were torn apart, splattering in all directions like a rain of gore, falling onto nearby ninja.
Shimizu adjusted his angle and shot forward again in a straight-line thrust!
Zzt! Zzt! Zzt! Zzt!
Blood sprayed like rain, an endless torrent.
Each high-speed strike collided with devastating force—any shinobi hit was like being crushed by a speeding train, their bodies obliterated beyond recognition.
Very few jutsu were this gory. Even Fire Release merely scorched, Wind Release typically decapitated, and Water Release pierced the body.
Now, shattered pieces of flesh rained down upon the earth.
Everyone involuntarily thought of one word—
Terrifying.
"Woof! Woof! Woof!"
A yellow ninken barked loudly.
Inuzuka Gaku patted its head and told it not to eat the flesh on the ground.
"Woof..."
The ninken whimpered in frustration, pointing at Shimizu.
"Hmph, I feel the same way," Gaku said.
Even his ninken shared his shock toward that jutsu.
The copying ability of the Three Tomoe Sharingan was truly envy-inducing—perhaps even jealousy-inducing.
Hatake Kakashi had only just used the technique, and Shimizu had already mastered it.
Gaku looked at Shimizu's handsome face and began to have thoughts.
His second brother had a daughter named Inuzuka Claw—she was about the same age as Shimizu. Maybe he could introduce them.
If Shimizu found Claw too wild, then there was also his third brother's daughter, Inuzuka Akizuki—a gentle and graceful girl, the perfect wife material.
After all, the Uchiha didn't forbid marriage outside the clan. If Shimizu married into the Inuzuka, maybe the clan could even gain access to some of the Sharingan's power.
"What kind of jutsu is that?!"
Some of the weaker Kumo shinobi were feeling immense pressure.
They didn't have the massive chakra reserves of the Tailed Beasts, nor the strong physiques of the Yotsuki clan.
They had reached this point purely through their own efforts.
Now they were experiencing Shimizu's oppressive aura firsthand—like a merciless god of death harvesting life after life.
Inside Killer Bee's body, the Eight-Tails was sensing the chakra fluctuations on the battlefield.
Unlike others, it wasn't afraid of Shimizu's jutsu—it was afraid of his eyes.
Having lived since the time of the Sage of Six Paths, the Eight-Tails knew many hidden truths of history.
It also knew the Sharingan was far more than it appeared. The Uchiha were descendants of the Sage of Six Paths' bloodline.
But this ocular power—it was different from any Uchiha the Eight-Tails had ever seen.
Ominous. Sinister. Like the source of all evil, a collection of malevolent will.
The Sharingan was the manifestation of one's spirit. The stronger the host's will, the greater the power they could wield.
"Bee, that Uchiha kid up ahead—he's not normal. You'd better be careful with him."
"You saying that brat's stronger than me, the great Killer Bee?"
"No... that's not what I mean."
In their shared mind space, the Eight-Tails shook its head, explaining its feelings.
"The Sharingan's power might have some suppressive effect on us Tailed Beasts. I felt danger from him. Understand—normally, a single Tailed Beast Ball from me could wipe out a kid like that."
"That so."
Killer Bee's usual carefree expression faded. His face grew solemn.
The Eight-Tails wouldn't speak without reason. If it said this much, then he really did need to be wary of this Uchiha.
"Why'd you stop fighting?"
Shimizu came to a halt, the chakra in his hand dissipating.
Blood had inevitably stained his body, and on his handsome face it lent a hazy, almost demonic allure.
The Kumogakure shinobi looked at each other uneasily.
They were a strike force, not a suicide squad.
One man stealing the spotlight more than even the Legendary Sannin—how were they supposed to keep fighting?
The Sannin hadn't even gone all out yet.
The Kumo shinobi knew well—Jiraiya could enter a special mode, his face marked by red patterns, his ninjutsu becoming overwhelmingly powerful.
This wasn't a secret. That intel had been known since the Second Great Ninja War.
Now the newly risen "Yellow Flash" had also made a name for himself.
But he'd only just appeared—not much intel was available.
As for this Uchiha in front of them, there was even less known.
It was like he'd just popped out of a rock—so strong, yet never seen on the front lines before. Would the Konoha higher-ups really hold someone like him back?
"If you leave now, we won't pursue you further."
Minato Namikaze spoke up.
He also glanced at Shimizu.
Only now did he realize—this subordinate of his seemed far too bloodthirsty.
People like this were easily led astray. They had to be corrected quickly.
Lord Third, I won't let you down, Minato thought silently.
"What about Samui?"
Some of the Kumo shinobi looked toward the captured Samui, unsure what to do. Abandoning a comrade—that wasn't their way.
"What do you think? Of course she's coming back to Konoha with us," Shimizu said.
The spark of this war had been the Kazekage's death, which threw Sunagakure into chaos.
Kumogakure took advantage of the situation and declared war on the other great villages, firing the first shot of the conflict.
The First Great Ninja War? Also started by these war-hungry fanatics.
Of the total four ninja world wars, Kumogakure had instigated two.
Their village was dominated by warmongers, drowning out the voice of the peace faction.
To Shimizu, sending Samui back would only be harming her.
She had to stay here, and shine with purpose—contribute to a better future.
"Hmph, don't push your luck!"
Yugito Nii exploded at those words and charged at Shimizu.
Her body was suddenly enveloped in a cloak of Tailed Beast chakra. Minato immediately moved to intercept her.
Boom!
Chakra surged wildly from Yugito, forming the outer shape of the Tailed Beast to stabilize itself.
A spectral blue feline head hovered in the air, maw wide open. Deep purple and blue chakra intertwined, forming a growing sphere.
Minato felt alarmed and prepared to pull Shimizu away.
Even if he marked Yugito now with Flying Thunder God, the seal would only stick to her Tailed Beast Cloak. Once the chakra dispersed, the seal would vanish too.
"A Tailed Beast Ball, huh?"
Shimizu immediately turned toward Minato and saw him crouch down, ready to use the Flying Thunder God: Guiding Thunder technique to redirect the Tailed Beast Ball.
He felt slightly reassured. Even if something went wrong, Minato was there to back him up.
Flying Thunder God really was convenient.
Shimizu's desire to learn the technique grew even stronger. Once he mastered it, he could move freely across the entire ninja world.
"You want her to die with you?"
Shimizu dashed to Rin Nohara's side, yanking Samui in front of him, pressing a kunai to her neck.
