After walking out of Evan Palmer's office, Adam Willow couldn't help but catch up to Emily Parker.
"Emily, about the Sterling Research Institute, it wasn't me who pushed you out of the project team.
It was Little Sophie; she went to the chairman to complain on her own."
He lowered his voice,
"That was a chance to work with Dr. Sterling, I know how important it is for you."
Emily Parker gave him a meaningful look and smiled.
"Important?"
She let out a light laugh,
"Assistant Willow, such an opportunity is very precious to you, but not to me.
Even though we've known each other for many years, it seems you never really understood me, not even as much as Carlos, who I've only known for a short while."
The Sterling Research Institute collaboration project, for her, had long been concluded. The institute and Eastern Hospital would collaborate directly; someone would naturally oversee it then.
As for the Carter Clan, they are merely a money bag.
