Chapter 290 - Chapter 290: Battle on the Ferry

[After hanging up the phone, Spider-Man shouted to the crowd, "I'll take that!" and shot a web line, snatching the key from Herman's hand.]

[He landed right in front of them with a confident stance. "Hey, guys! The illegal arms deal was scheduled for the 10:30 ferry—you're late!"]

[Herman immediately began retreating upon seeing Spider-Man, while Mac Gargan and his crew pulled out their guns, aiming at him.]

[Before they could fire, Spider-Man quickly shot out webs, yanking two of Gargan's men off their feet and tossing them backward. Then, with a swift double-kick, he sent Gargan flying.]

[Just as Gargan was about to tumble off the edge into the water, Spider-Man shot out another web, latching onto him and pulling him back.]

[Behind him, Herman lifted his coat, revealing his mechanical gauntlet. Activating it, he lunged at Spider-Man from behind.]

[Spider-Man's instincts kicked in—he ducked just in time to avoid the punch. Herman's metal fist struck the webbing-covered railing instead, sending sparks flying.]

[Seizing the opening, Spider-Man quickly wrapped him in more webbing. Meanwhile, inside the ferry's cabin, Vulture heard Mason's urgent message over the comms: "Spider-Man is here!"]

[At the mention of that name, Toomes immediately stood up, his expression darkening with resentment. He turned toward the back of the ferry.]

[Meanwhile, the two thugs who had been knocked down earlier struggled to get up, scrambling for their guns. Spider-Man sensed the danger and reacted instantly.]

["NONONO!" he shouted, turning and shooting a web toward a nearby motorcycle. He yanked it over, sending it crashing into the two men and knocking them flat again.]

[Spider-Man looked at them sprawled out on the deck, wincing slightly. "Uh… you guys okay? Sorry! Maybe I hit you a little too hard?"]

[Then, turning to Herman, who was still struggling in the webbing, Spider-Man sighed. "Gotta say, man… you were way smoother last time."]

[He quickly reloaded his web shooters, and his drone returned to his chest. "To be honest, I'm kinda surprised."]

[Sensing movement behind him, Spider-Man instinctively shot a web grenade over his shoulder without looking back.]

[The grenade detonated mid-air, splattering webbing onto the approaching figure, pinning them against the wall before they could react. A lone thug, watching from a distance, gulped as he witnessed everything unfold.]

[Suddenly, Vulture appeared from behind, grabbing Spider-Man's head and slamming it into the side of a pickup truck. The impact dazed him momentarily.]

"As expected of Spider-Man—his Spider-Sense is really something. He didn't even have to look to react."

George Stacy couldn't help but be impressed. Despite Skycurtain mentioning that Peter's Spider-Sense was inconsistent, at least this time, it worked flawlessly.

"To be honest, I really envy his tech," 2nd Gen Peter muttered, watching closely. Every time he saw the high-tech functions built into Spider-Man's suit, he felt a pang of jealousy.

"Yeah!" Gwen agreed. She and 2nd Gen Spider-Man had been working on developing their own web formulas recently. They'd made progress, but they were still nowhere near the 576 different types that Spider-Man's suit had.

Not to mention the additional gadgets—parachutes, drones, heaters—just thinking about it made 2nd Gen Peter's head hurt.

Fortunately, with Gwen's help and Osborn Industries finally stabilizing, Harry had been able to lend some support. Though for now, he could only provide materials, it was still a step forward in upgrading the suit.

[Hearing the commotion, Spider-Man turned to lock eyes with Toomes. In that moment, he knew—this was the mastermind behind everything. He had to take him down.]

[But before he could make a move, a squad of men suddenly burst onto the scene, guns drawn. "Freeze! FBI! Don't move!"]

[Another group stormed in from the side entrance. "Drop your weapons! FBI! Get down!"]

[Spider-Man hesitated for a split second, utterly confused. "Wait… FBI? What the heck is going on?"]

[Karen, ever helpful, assumed he didn't understand. "FBI stands for the Federal Bureau of Investigation!"]

[Spider-Man groaned. "I know what the FBI is, Karen! I just don't get why they're here!"]

[Before he could make sense of it, a loud crash echoed through the ship as a steel wing slammed into the ferry's van cabin.]

[Everyone turned in shock. "What was that?!"]

[Then, with a mechanical roar, Vulture emerged from the van, fully suited up and armed. In his grip, an energy weapon hummed ominously.]

[One of the FBI agents immediately opened fire, but Vulture's armor deflected the bullets with ease. Spider-Man yelled from behind them, "Get out of the way! MOVE!"]

["Go, go, go! Get back!" Spider-Man's anxiety spiked. The FBI agents were not prepared to deal with someone like Vulture.]

[Suddenly, Vulture fired a particle beam. Spider-Man dodged just in time as Vulture hooked a car with his talons and hurled it straight at the agents.]

["LOOK OUT! MOVE, MOVE!" Spider-Man lunged forward, yanking one of the FBI agents aside just as the car smashed into the deck. However, the impact sent him sprawling.]

[Meanwhile, Mac Gargan, still dazed, got caught in the chaos. The flying car struck him, sending him tumbling overboard into the water below.]

[Above them, Vulture soared into the sky, glancing back at the scene below. He quickly fired a burst shot at the webbing holding Herman captive, breaking him free. "Top deck! We're leaving!"]

[Herman didn't hesitate. He bolted toward the cabin exit. Spider-Man, recovering from his fall, quickly fired a web to stop him, but Vulture intercepted it with another energy blast, disintegrating the webbing mid-air.]

[Vulture had no interest in prolonged combat. He immediately started ascending, planning his escape. But Spider-Man wasn't about to let him go.]

[With a swift flick, he fired a web that latched onto Vulture's leg, anchoring him in place.]

[Spider-Man gritted his teeth, pulling with all his might, preventing Vulture from taking off. Meanwhile, the remaining FBI agents opened fire again. Bullets sparked against Vulture's armor, but none penetrated.]

[Vulture curled his wings around himself for protection. The moment the agents paused their assault, he retaliated—firing two consecutive particle blasts, forcing them to take cover.]

[One of the shots shattered a cabin window, sending glass flying toward the passengers inside.]

[Reacting instantly, Spider-Man shot a web to a nearby car, securing it before flipping backward to dodge an incoming attack.]

[Vulture tried to pull away, but Spider-Man's web remained firmly attached to his foot—and to the car below. The more he struggled, the more the vehicle wedged itself against a metal pillar, keeping him tethered to the ferry.]
