However, the genjutsu Yoruha had just released wasn't activated through his eyes, but rather through chakra.
It wasn't the chakra consumed during the release of the genjutsu, but rather the chakra used as a medium from the surroundings.
In other words, as long as it was within the area Yoruha could sense, he could cast genjutsu.
He could release single-target genjutsu or group genjutsu. This was naturally the result of Yoruha's improvements to the technique.
In a certain sense, Yoruha's method of casting genjutsu was terrifying.
This is because the ninja world is filled with chakra everywhere. As long as he wanted to, anyone he could sense could be subjected to his genjutsu. It was even more frightening than the Sharingan.
However, Yoruha didn't particularly like using genjutsu because, although his range and speed were impressive, the strength of his genjutsu wasn't very high.
It was only on par with Kurenai Yuhi's level of genjutsu, not as formidable as the genjutsu used by a ninja like Uchiha Itachi, who possessed the Mangekyo Sharingan.
So if he were to face Uchiha Itachi, Yoruha wouldn't dare to compete in genjutsu.
Otherwise, he'd be the one lying down. But Yoruha had only recently mastered genjutsu, and there was still plenty of room for improvement in the future.
Of course, if others knew Yoruha had such an ability, many would be unable to sit still.
It's known that Kurenai Yuhi's genjutsu abilities aren't as strong as Uchiha Itachi's, but there aren't many in the ninja world whose genjutsu can compare to Itachi's.
Kurenai Yuhi is a genjutsu-type Jonin, and if her opponent doesn't have a Sharingan, it's very difficult to break free from her genjutsu without help.
Moreover, Yoruha's genjutsu had reached a level where he could release it with just a thought.
No hand seals were needed, nor any prior preparation. It was an instant, seal-less genjutsu. Unfortunately, Yoruha didn't like using genjutsu; he didn't see himself as a genjutsu-type ninja.
If others knew he had such an absurd level of genjutsu skill and still thought that way, they'd probably be infuriated.
Genjutsu is inherently difficult to learn, yet Yoruha could cast it instantly, without hand seals, and use it anytime, anywhere.
On the vast ocean, a massive sailing ship cruised across the water.
Inside the cabin, Koyuki Kazahana, lying on the ship, slowly opened her eyes. The scene of Yoruha using genjutsu on her still lingered in her mind. As soon as she opened her eyes, she sat up immediately.
"My head hurts... was it genjutsu?" Koyuki murmured to herself. When she noticed her surroundings, it seemed she realized something.
With wide eyes, Koyuki ran towards the door. With a dull "thud," she pushed open the cabin door. What greeted her was the endless ocean, the setting sun, and the sea breeze blowing.
Koyuki Kazahana knew she hadn't escaped; she was already on the ship. "Damn it, that bastard." Koyuki was furious.
She didn't want to go to the Land of Snow, but now that she was on the ship, there was no turning back.
Stepping out of the cabin, Koyuki angrily made her way to the deck. Seeing Yoruha leaning against the deck, enjoying the sea breeze, Koyuki approached him.
"You bastard, why did you bring me on the ship without asking for my consent?"
"You have to come too." "I just don't want to waste time." Yoruha's words were true, but Koyuki was still very angry.
"You have no idea how dangerous the Land of Snow is, how terrifying that person is. Do you think you can defeat him? Don't be so full of yourself."
Perhaps it was Yoruha's presumptuous actions that angered Koyuki, making her very upset and thus quite rude to Yoruha. However, Yoruha wasn't angry.
Koyuki had a shadow over her heart because of Kazahana Doto, and it was perfectly normal for her to be afraid to go.
After all, she had been hiding for ten years, and Yoruha bringing her back to the Land of Snow was like making all those years of hiding in vain. Anyone would be angry. Yoruha understood, so he wasn't upset.
"Who exactly is this person you're talking about? The one who wants to kill you?" Koyuki hesitated.
She wanted to tell Yoruha about Kazahana Doto, but saying it would inevitably reveal her true identity.
So, Koyuki could only glare at Yoruha, snort coldly, and turn back to the cabin. Yoruha chuckled, "Quite the temper, truly worthy of a big star." He didn't take it to heart.
Turning to look at the sea, he thought to himself, "I really do feel a bit like a pirate king now, hahaha!"
On the vast sea, even the largest sailing ship was but a drop in the ocean. After a while, Asama came to Yoruha's side.
Standing next to Yoruha, Asama thought for a moment and finally decided to tell Yoruha the truth about the Land of Snow and reveal Koyuki's true identity.
"The reason Miss Koyuki is so wary of the Land of Snow is because she is the daughter of the former daimyo of the Land of Snow, the princess, and the heir to the Land of Snow." Yoruha's expression remained calm, as if he wasn't surprised at all.
Asama thought Yoruha had already guessed the connection between Koyuki and the Land of Snow, so he wasn't surprised.
In fact, Yoruha simply had memories of this part. Asama continued, "Back then, the leader of the Snow Ninja Village, Kazahana Doto, launched a rebellion..."
Asama told Yoruha everything that had happened in the Land of Snow back then, including his identity and Koyuki's true identity.
After finishing, Asama looked at Yoruha with some apprehension. He was worried that Yoruha would abandon the mission after hearing everything.
After all, when he commissioned Konoha, he had concealed these matters and only offered the reward for a B-rank mission.
It wasn't that Asama couldn't afford to pay for a higher-ranked mission; he just needed to hide his and Koyuki Kazahana's identities. Originally, he thought Konoha would at least send a jonin with a few chunin to carry out this mission.
Who knew the Third Hokage would only send Yoruha for this task? If it weren't for Yoruha's earlier display of skill, Asama wouldn't have dared to trust him. After listening to Asama's account, Yoruha's expression remained calm.
After a long while, he said lightly, "This already far exceeds the difficulty of a B-rank mission." "Mr. Asama, I have the right to terminate this mission at any time." Hearing this, Asama panicked.
"I can pay a higher-level reward. The reason I only reported it as a B-rank mission was to avoid exposing Princess Koyuki's identity. Please continue to protect Princess Koyuki, I beg you."
Yoruha looked at Asama for a moment before slowly saying, "This is a war commission, at least an S-rank mission."
Asama's face lit up with joy; as long as they could negotiate, it was fine. "I am willing to pay you the reward for an S-rank mission."
Yoruha smiled, "I know you can afford it. After all, Koyuki, or rather, Princess Koyuki, is a big star. What are a few million ryo to her?"
Although Koyuki Kazahana was the princess of the Land of Snow, she had been living in the Land of Fire all these years and was one of the top stars there, with a very considerable income.
Top entertainment stars, no matter the world or era, are high-income earners. Their status may vary, but their high income is undeniable.
Even the income of the ninja who completes the most missions can't compare to that of the top stars. Asama looked earnestly at Yoruha, worried that he might abandon the mission.
After a moment of silence, Yoruha smiled and said, "Since we're already here, going back isn't realistic. I will continue to complete this mission."
