Chapter 12 - Pt.2: 11: Hidden Agenda 1

"Technically, it's a business meeting with potential clients that might run for two or three days, and since you're still upset, I want us to make up and to have alone time. We haven't done pretty much of it lately ever since we got caught up with work." She gave her husband her honest reason, which made Vincencio feel a tug on his chest.

"Can I say no?" With a playful smirk, Vincencio decided to tease her, and Skylar adorably whined, making him crack and laugh. Then he gave up as he stood up from his chair. "Okay, stop being adorable."

"Yay! Thank you, Hubby." With relief, she didn't hesitate to jump and hug her husband tightly, and Vincencio gladly returned it. Both of them miss each other.

"Be grateful that I miss your presence at home and beside me." He kissed her temple dearly, memorizing her scent more.

"Don't worry, I'll be home tonight; I just need to take all-nighters to make up with you," she admitted as she looked at him adoringly before asking. "Am I forgiven now?"

"You know, I can't stay mad at you for long," he admitted as she pecked her lips before wondering. "What do you want to eat for dinner?"

"Anything but no spicy." With a pleased grin, she answered, making him nod.

"Noted. Anything else you prefer? Dessert?" With a soft smile, he wondered as he removed some hair strands from her temple.

"You?" she teasingly answered, catching him off guard and blushing.

"Wifey." He softly growled, making Skylar laugh like it was her first time being happy.

"I miss that. I miss you calling me that." With her sweetest smile, she admitted and kissed Vincencio's lips dearly before pulling away to let him work. "See you later at home."

Despite the sweet reconciliation at their workplace, the couple returned home together, knowing it would raise gossip, but it didn't matter. As soon as they arrived home, Vincencio opened the car door for Skylar and unlocked their front door, amusing Skylar until Joey reminded her of something private.

"Your new toy is waiting." With a mischievous grin, Joey softly whispered.

"When did you sneak out without him noticing it?" With a teasing tone, Skylar wondered despite already knowing how Joey did it.

"When you two were at the office, and besides, I checked the security; they were all good for a year." He playfully rolled his eyes but still answered.

"Okay, update it beforehand." She smiled and waved her hand.

"Noted, and good luck." Joey nodded and left the driveway, making Skylar run to the door where Vincencio waited.

"What did you talk about?" he carefully wondered as he opened the door for them.

"Our house security. He said it would last for a year," she answered as soon as they entered their house.

"So, I bet he could sneak inside the house." He nodded in understanding, but Skylar sensed something in his tone as he knew it too.

"Well, I let him keep the house safe for us," she reasoned, which was the truth.

"Good to know, or else I might think you're cheating on me." He hugged his wife and kissed her temple.

"Oh please, cheating on you is the last thing I would do." She savored the moment before pulling away.

"Good, I hate to smell another scent in our house, our sanctuary." He pecked his wife's lips before heading to the kitchen to prepare something for them.

"Smell?" With puzzlement in her mind, she just watched him do his thing around the kitchen when she recalled what Joey mentioned earlier. "I better check it out."

Skylar immediately went to their bedroom, and within their walk-in closet, there was a secret section that she only had access to. Once she opened it, different types of heavily loaded handguns with silencers and sharp dark knives welcomed her. She was familiar with her firearms until she noticed a note over a silver metal briefcase.

Note: Specially customized for you.

When she checked the briefcase, there was no way of opening it until Skylar's lip curled up with mischief. She was the only one who knew how to open the handbag that was specially made for her, and with a secret button that also served as an undetectable fingerprint scanner, she opened the briefcase. With the high-tech sensor detecting her identity, a holographic image showed up. It was the detail of her next target.

"My Beta cleverness in gathering information and my Omega's crafty inventions never seem to fail in surprising me." With her dangerous grin, Skylar checked her new toys, which were a full set of heavy-loaded midnight blue handguns and a pair of twin daggers that had the same taint. Lastly, her huntress's newly custom-made combat suit, from headgear to her boots. "Wow, they outdid themselves for this one. But I wonder how much it cost to create this set. I felt like I was in a video game or something."

But with her sensitive hearing, Skylar quickly closed the briefcase and removed her clothes while her hidden weaponry section closed automatically. At that exact moment, Vincencio's voice began ringing through the bathroom's closed door.

"Wifey, food is done. Come out when you're done."

"I'll be there in an hour." With calmness, Skylar shouted back and let herself freshen up like she didn't check anything before bathing.

After a few moments of getting ready for their travel, Skylar ensured she didn't forget her new toys to test and new gear to wear at her late-night hunt. Then, when everything was set on her side, Vincencio peeked through the door.

"Wifey, are you ready? " Trying to hide his excitement that he was failing, Vincencio wondered.

"All set." Amused over her husband's excitement, she responded with a giggle and went out of their house while thinking. "I'm definitely set."

On their arrival at the small but three-star relaxing beach resort, they were accommodated warmly, and their room suite was private enough for them to lounge. Vincencio checked around their room, perfectly breathing in how spacious it was, from a small but decent living space opened to a small one-wall kitchen and had direct access to the beach with a private pool and Jacuzzi.

"Like the room so far?" Skylar wondered as she amusingly watched her husband roam around their small but breathable couple's suite.

"Yes, is this for everyone?" Vincencio wondered as he sat beside his wife on the couch.

"No, it's their package for married couples like us," she answered as she snuggled into Vincencio's arms.

"You mean?" He wondered, and she nodded.

"I told them I'm with my husband, and after hearing my name, they quickly reserved this suite." She shrugged her shoulders as she answered before she pulled away and went to their luggage.

"Your name holds something." He amusingly watched his wife get her laptop from her bag before placing it on the small center table.

"Well, I did have a connection with the Park-Kim couple, so, yeah, it's a privilege that I'm willing to take advantage of for us to have quality time together." With a wink, she proudly shared as she accessed her laptop to check her work for the day.

"Let me guess, you asked for this?" he guessed as he arranged a few things on the built-in drawers and cabinets in one space next to their queen-sized bed and master bathroom.

"I didn't, but she did tell me about this place, and when I checked it out, it was good to take a vacation with you, and since my clients were somewhere around here, I told them about this place too." She responded as she checked her emails.

"I see that's why we're having a business meeting and vacation in the same spot." He concluded, making Skylar nod.

"Exactly." She chuckled, but there was something sinister in her smirk when she thought about her hunt as well. "As well for my night hunt."

"What time is your meeting?" Vincencio asked as he removed his top, revealing his semi-fit body beneath his muscle tee.

"I've got a dinner meeting at the resort's restaurant. Then tomorrow morning at early lunch at the restaurant across the resort." She responded while not looking at him.

"Then in-between time, you are free?" he guessed, making Skylar nod.

"Perhaps, since I'm not sure if they will move the meeting earlier or later than the settled time. Or maybe the meeting could be extended." But with a little unsure tone, she replied but quickly added, "But I'm sure having our alone time together."

"Okay, should I come with you or wait?" he wondered as he sat on the couch while his wife focused on the laptop.

"Tonight you'll come, and who knows, you might be able to help me close deals with them early on." She replied before stopping her work and grinning at him.

"Damn you, Wifey. You should have told me so I could charm them before the meeting." He winked playfully.

"And for what? To let them steal you from me? No way, you're my hubby and always will be." She chuckled and went close to him.

"I love the way you sound possessive," he sweetly said as he pulled her into his lap.

"Sexy?" There was something in Skylar's eyes that flickered as she asked.

"Oh, much better, Wifey. You're daringly hot and captivatingly sexy." He leaned to kiss his wife's neck as he whispered his response.

"So, shall we try it out then?" Skylar felt the rush building inside as she softly whispered where she felt Vincencio's body shiver.

"Ahm, maybe in one day…" With a slight growl, Vincencio smirked at the desire his wife was showing.

"Did he just throaty growl at me?" Skylar thought when she caught a deep, throaty growl from Vincencio before responding. "Then I better prepare. You sounded like you won't let me sleep when we do it."

"Well, it could happen." He pecked his lips before putting his wife on the couch gently and going to the kitchen. "Go and prepare for your meeting; I'll get us something to eat."

"That would be lovely." She chuckled and returned to being the CEO as she settled before her laptop.

***

On schedule, their meeting immediately started as Skylar quickly introduced Vincencio as her husband. But Vincencio was worried about his wife's temper, which was already boiling out, as Skylar noticed the woman beside her potential client checking him out.

"Can you stop being charmed with my husband, or will this meeting be meaningless?" With patience running thin, Skylar tried her best to be civil when she bluntly asked the woman beside her potential client.

"Should I care? Your husband is a catch." The woman teased, but Skylar was not the kind of wife or CEO to be played with.

"Then that's it." Hearing that response, Skylar didn't hesitate to stand up and quickly ended the meeting before it could go further. "Mr. Lington, I'm sorry, but I decline having a business with you."

"What? Why? Is it because of what my partner said? She's just joking." Mr. Lington got worried when Skylar suddenly declined to help him with his business.

"Do I look like I'm joking when I introduce my husband as mine? Do I look like an easy CEO for you? Mr. Lington, remember you're seeking my help, and I'm here to hear them, but I choose who I'll be working with." Despite her cold tone, Skylar still managed to be kind and gave him a chance for another meeting without the woman beside him. "But if you still want my help, I suggest never bringing a kind of woman who'll bring you down in times of need. Excuse my bluntness; I don't want to work with those untrustworthy people like the woman beside you."

"You're just being threatened." The woman scoffed as if she were the one who was doing business with Skylar.

"Maybe, but you're being the rude one. Instead of supporting Mr. Lington on the side, your eyes never left my husband. I might be having a meeting with him, but it doesn't mean I am not aware of how you looked at him as delicious prey." With venom, Skylar firmly spat, and with her dangerous warning glare, the woman sat still on her chair. "Be warned, woman, I protect what's mine, and if you dare to look or touch, you won't see another day. You have my word on that. Excuse us, Mr. Lington, and think about it."
