Frank held on to Anna; his mind playing the dreadful state of Michael. Each minute seemed to be passing slower than the previous one, stirring their negative thoughts more profoundly. What was happening behind the closed OR, nobody knew. The only thing they could hold onto was nothing but hope.
"Mr. Spec—"
"How is he?" Frank bolted towards the nurse, not letting her complete her words. Frank's eyes bore holes in hers. However, she wasn't bothered or offended by his approach. She had witnessed these kinds of events a lot.
"Mr. Specter survived…" The words were enough to make everyone gasp and cheer in happiness. Finally, after all this wait—all those tormenting moments they had awaited—it was good news.
"Th-Thank you! Thank you so much." Nana went ahead and kissed the nurse's hand, tears rolling down her cheeks. Frank swirled Anna in his arms. He was feeling bubbly; when there was barely any chance of survival, the fact that he survived was more than a miracle.
