Arthur shot forward like a thunderbolt.

The air cracked behind him, a sonic boom shattering the silence as he broke the sound barrier, his form becoming a streak of motion cloaked in shadows and electric fury. His right fist, armored in the jagged bones of Doomsday bone gauntlets, crackled with pressure his knuckles glowing faintly with the violet hue of restrained power.

Kamish had just begun to rise to his full height wings stretching, molten flame pulsing in his throat when Arthur slammed a gauntleted punch directly into the dragon's colossal snout.

BOOM.

The impact was seismic. The dragon's head reeled backward from the force, scales cracking under the blow, magma flaring beneath its skin in fury. The ground trembled. Fire geysers erupted in the distance.

Arthur didn't waste time.

He danced midair, his form flickering from one position to the next with Speed Step, reappearing above the dragon's massive head. His boot met Kamish's brow with another concussive strike, sending ripples of force down the beast's spine.

Kamish roared, a roar so loud the nearby mountains began to crumble at the edges. In a snap of reaction, it coiled its massive tail and whipped it like a falling tower, aiming to swat Arthur out of the air.

Arthur ducked beneath it barely. The tail sliced through a crag behind him. As he flipped, Kamish's massive clawed hand swung like a boulder.

Arthur blocked it with both arms crossed. He was sent crashing into a ruined obsidian column but he twisted in mid-air, landing with a roll, and came back up grinning.

"Alright," he muttered to himself. "Big, fast, and mean. Just how I like 'em.".... Arthur realized what he just said and then "wait... why did that sound wrong."

Kamish reared back.

Then he breathed.

Not a single stream of fire, a storm of it. Gouts of dragonfire erupted in all directions, wave after wave of molten death blanketing the battlefield, turning the earth into boiling glass and melting stone.

Arthur moved.

Shadow flickered around him as Ruler's Authority surged an invisible force grabbing him from behind and flinging him through narrow gaps between walls of flame, each movement as smooth as silk. He vaulted over one, spun under another, and redirected one of the fire blasts with a twist of his palm and a command of will.

Still mid-air, a stream of fire nearly engulfed him.

Kamish growled, "Foolish human."

Arthur landed, boots skidding against scorched stone, and glanced up surprised.

"...Huh. I totally forgot you could speak," he said, brushing soot off his shoulder as the sword sheathed on his back buzzed faintly, reacting to the dragon's heat. His cloak flicked, some edges scorched. He didn't mind.

Kamish's great head lowered, eyes like yellow and smouldering, molten saliva dripping from fanged jaws.

Arthur tilted his head slightly, his smile dry but sharp.

"Though I must say…" he flexed his gauntlet-clad fingers, the faint tremble of impact still echoing through them. "You're strong. Those weren't light attacks from me."

The dragon growled low, the ground shaking beneath them.

And Arthur calm, confident, hungry for more simply rolled his neck with a soft crack.

"This would have been way harder if I did this sooner... I'm just...too strong for you currently."

Kamish growled louder, smoke billowing from its nostrils.

"You speak of strength?" The dragon's wings flared. "That is not something you can say to a servant of the Monarch of Destruction!"

With a spine-rattling roar, Kamish unleashed a skill that echoed through the fabric of the dungeon itself.

[Dragon's Fear.]

The shout wasn't sound it was raw, soul-piercing mana, a blast of despair that rippled outward like a tidal wave. The lava bubbled harder, as if even the earth itself feared the call.

But Arthur stood unmoved, eyes locked on Kamish.

"My my… had to flex the soul a bit to prove a point?" He cracked his neck, smirking. "Too bad I know what that ability is, and it's wasted on me. You know what that means, don't you?"

His hand reached behind his back.

The Demon King Longsword roared to life in a blast of lightning, drawn in a single, fluid motion. Sparks danced down the blade's length, as if eager to be unleashed.

Arthur launched forward once again.

Steel met scales. The two titans clashed mid-air, dancing in a deadly spiral above the volcanic arena. Kamish swung claws the size of siege towers Arthur parried them with his sword, every strike followed by a crack of thunder. Their battle carved spirals in the air Arthur using Speed Step to blink behind Kamish, slashing deep into a wing, only to be whipped away by the dragon's tail.

Kamish rose, maw glowing with fire.

Arthur spun midair, dodging three jets of flame, then another. He used Ruler's Authority to halt his momentum and flipped upside down, slicing through another blast with his blade. Then, with a grin, he surged forward and Kamish struck.

Jaws closed around Arthur.

The world went dark inside the dragon's mouth. For a split second, it seemed like the fight had ended.

Then CRACK.

Inside, Arthur's arms pushed outward.

"You really thought this would work?" he said, straining but laughing. "I've fought gods, dumbass."

With a violent burst of strength, he pried the dragon's jaws open, flames spilling out from the gaps as Kamish roared in pain. Arthur drove a fist into the roof of its mouth—then another until he shattered his teeth.

Kamish shrieked.

Arthur exploded out from its mouth in a spiral of lightning and flame, rising above the beast with his blade raised high. Lightning coiled around the Demon King Longsword, growing brighter, wilder until with one downward swing, he let it loose.

A storm of lightning bolts rained down.

The blast caught Kamish directly in the skull. Electricity ripped through its wings and spine, forcing it out of the air like a broken comet. The colossal dragon slammed into the ground below with a tremor that split stone and cracked the earth.

Arthur hovered above, blade still humming with residual energy. His expression was calm now focused.

"Still think I'm foolish?"

Kamish lifted his head, defiant even through the pain, but before he could lift from the ground fully.

A sharp whistle tore through the air.

In Arthur's free hand, materialized like judgment given form, was the Kryptonite Sword. Forged from the purest green crystal, the weapon gleamed with a deathly sheen. With a single motion, Arthur hurled it downward.

It struck one of Kamish's massive wings mid-beat, piercing straight through the leathery flesh and slamming into the cracked stone below with a crunch. The dragon shrieked, body twisting, as the impaled wing pinned him to the earth like an insect under glass.

Kamish struggled but Arthur was already moving.

With lightning exploding around him, he dropped from the sky like a meteor, the Demon King Longsword raised in a two-handed grip. Electricity coiled around the blade, building with every second.

Arthur drove it down straight into the other wing.

The sword pierced bone, then stone, nailing the dragon's second wing into the earth. And when it landed, it howled with wrath. A surge of lightning exploded from the blade like a living thing, racing across Kamish's body striking nerves, scorching muscle, cracking scales. The storm lashed through him like judgment incarnate.

Kamish roared, the sound primal, pained, and wrathful.

And in his agony, he unleashed a torrent of dragonfire. The flames burst forth with desperate might, engulfing the battlefield in a sun-hot inferno, surging toward Arthur himself.

Arthur raised his hand.

Ruler's Authority pulsed. The flames bent unnaturally parting before him like a curtain drawn by invisible hands. The inferno spilled to either side, scorching the ground, melting stone, but not touching him.

He walked through the fire untouched.

Boots crunching against ruined stone, his gaze never left Kamish, whose chest now heaved, wings crucified to the earth, lightning still snapping across his body.

Arthur came to a halt before the dragon's massive, smoldering face. The glowing blue of his eyes pierced into the beast's.

Kamish met his gaze. There was no fear in his eyes only the slow dawning of reality. That for all his power, for all his flame and might and legend, the man before him… was no mere man.

Arthur's voice was soft, but it cut sharper than any blade.

"You're strong. Fierce. A true dragon really at the very least, you are how I expected you to be."

He leaned in closer, lightning reflecting in his eyes.

"But you're chained now and broken. And I'm the one who brought you to your knees."

A slow exhale. Calm. Measured.

"Forget about your old master, you're going to die here Kamish, but... "

Arthur tilted his head slightly.

"But you'll rise again as my servant.. Stronger than ever."

Kamish let out one last defiant growl but even that trembled.

Arthur straightened, his hand gripping the hilt of his sword with ruler's authority, still buried in the dragon's wing. A silence stretched between them brief and final.

And then lightning gathered once more.
