We were sprawled on my bed, the lantern's flame dancing across the walls. Marisol lay against the headboard, her fingers lightly stroking my hair.
Lena sat at the foot of the bed, humming a soft tune. Keiran and Vale were on either side of me, close enough that I felt the heat of their bodies.
"What do you want to do when you leave this place?" Vale asked suddenly, looking at me with those intense silver eyes.
The question made my chest tighten. "Leave?" I echoed. "I… don't know if I'll ever leave."

Marisol smiled, her warm brown eyes filled with quiet confidence. "We'll take you to see the ocean. The sunrise since you be in the sun. The markets at dawn. Everything you read in your books"
Keiran nodded, resting a hand on my shoulder. "You're strong, Lucien. Stronger than you think."
