Chapter 111 - A New Dawn

It feels surreal. Every breath I take seems too light, too free—like the air itself has been purged of some ancient, suffocating curse.

A Few Days After the King's Death

We've spent the last several days traveling from village to village, helping people bury the dead and burn the vampires' remains. It's a grim task, but also a cleansing one—like we're scrubbing the world of the evil that plagued it for so long. The smell of ash clings to my clothes, to my hair, but I don't mind. It smells like freedom.
