Vikram paused for a second, and looked to his left side, to only see a woman with blue and white hair intermixed sitting beside him. Vikram had purposefully made himself obscure.
He was already famous before the descent of the Mother System. Vikram had no power, and for teens at this time, getting superpowers would spell doom to everyone. It was nice that there was an upper hierarchy that could restrain the people who had these powers.
The girl was most probably his age, and she was silently eating her food. Vikram looked at the girl and the girl smiled back at him.
He was struck with food in his mouth, so he struggled to swallow the food and coughed.
"Are you Vikram?" The girl asked, and he nodded. The girl smiled as she extended her hand. "I have watched many of your videos, and you inspired me a lot!" She extended her hand, and Vikram also shook her hand, but when he touched her hand, he was a little surprised, because these hands were not of a girl.
She had hard callouses and hard skin on her hands. Vikram knew that the hands like these meant that she had wielded a weapon with great skills. Brunus had hands like these, General Lady had a hand like these, and many of the officers that were inside buildings that Vikram had talked to had hands like these.
Vikram made small talk with the girl and knew that her name was Elen. But now, Vikram was weirded out by the girl. Because the girl didn't know about anything.
Anything.
She didn't know that there were countries before this whole shenanigans before the Mother System, she didn't know that slavery existed, and she also said that Dumbledore was real.
Vikram smiled awkwardly and got outside of the conversation. But he felt that the girl was genuine in her sentiments of Vikram inspiring her. Even though he was arrogant, it was not without any base.
He inspired many women and men throughout his career and had done numerous fund raising programs throughout the country. He also noted that the girl was frustrated by not being able to connect, but Vikram had dealt with many of the nutcases that had come to him with the same line.
Vikram successfully got out of the situation and heard an announcement.
"Every Walkers, please pay attention. Please assemble in front of the assembly office."
Vikram remembered that Brunus had said where the assembly was. Vikram moved through the crowd, as he saw his peers crowing the door.
He entered the hall, but he was yanked out of the crowd. When he saw he was literally on the other side of the hall in just mere moments, he was extremely shocked. When he looked at who had yanked him out of the crowd, he saw the General Lady.
"Go inside that office, I will come and pick you up after the speech." The General Lady didn't even listen to anything he wanted to say and vanished from the stage.
Vikram shook his head and entered the office, only to see a guy who was tinkering with metal scraps and wires. Vikram didn't know what he was doing but was sure that he was not normal, because his eyes held an unhealthy amount of obsession when he worked...
Much like himself.
Vikram noted that the man was silent, looked at him, and had difficulty processing that he had seen another human being. Then, his face lit up, and sprinted and hugged him.
Vikram was again weirded out and looked at the guy with a guarded expression. The guy smiled embarrassingly and hand-signed a couple of things, which Vikram didn't know.
Thus, it created an awkward environment. Vikram tried to understand what the guy was saying, and finally, the guy understood Vikram was not understanding what he was saying.
Vikram saw that he had taken out a mobile that looked like it came from the future, clicked some things, and then again repeated the actions, and the phone started to talk.
"Hey, you are the first one to come to this office. I am Jay!" An awkward atmosphere filled the room, and Vikram responded after some time.
"Hey... and I'm Vikram," Vikram smiled, and gave his hand forward. Alex paused, looked at his hand, and awkwardly shook his hand...
Vikram smiled and tried to start a conversation...
