Sabrina stepped out of the queen's chambers, her mind spinning. The name the queen had whispered still echoed in her ears. Katrina. That was the healer? The very one the king had been hiding all this time? Of all people… Katrina? No one could've guessed.
"Do you believe her?" Isavel asked quietly beside her.
"Yes," Sabrina replied without thinking. "She wouldn't lie. Not when something this big could ruin her."
She knew Fortuna well—too well. That woman would hold onto her throne with both hands and claws if she had to. And today, she had even dared to betray the king.
Just as they reached the top of the stairs, Sabrina's heart jumped. The king was approaching the quarters. Her instincts kicked in. She quickly scanned the hallway and slipped into a quiet corner, dragging Isavel with her. She wasn't ready for questions. Not about Elvin. Not about what she was doing here.
