Chapter 38 - Cursed Energy

Bibi Dong was completely stunned by all these changes, with the biggest reason being the transformation of her martial soul. Throughout her life, she had always harbored deep insecurities about her martial soul's appearance, which had troubled her extensively. Her concerns stemmed from vanity—the desire to remain beautiful and attractive—and from her wish to distance herself from Yu Xiaogang's influence. Now, in a twist of fate, just as she had finally emerged from her obsession with Yu Xiaogang, her martial soul had undergone this incredible metamorphosis.

The irony wasn't lost on her. She had spent years consumed by bitterness and revenge, only to receive this gift when she had finally decided to live her life differently and correct her past mistakes. As she observed the Life Gold still pulsing with residual energy, she sensed Electrolux creating another spiritual space within the precious crystal before entering it to recover and prevent further erosion of her divine soul.

"Little girl," Electrolux's voice resonated from within the Life Gold, carrying both wisdom and weariness, "I have paid you the price for your assistance and have even exceeded the terms of our original agreement." The ancient necromancer's tone held a note of satisfaction, though Bibi Dong detected an underlying calculation in his words.

She narrowed her eyes slightly, her sharp intellect immediately recognizing that this exchange was far from simple charity. "Nothing in this world comes without a price, Lord Electrolux. What exactly have you done?"

"Perceptive as always," Electrolux chuckled, his ethereal voice carrying approval. "I have not only helped you evolve both of your martial souls to divine-grade status, but I have also intervened with your Divine Throne itself. The throne has been transformed into what you might call a blank slate—a malleable foundation that will adapt and evolve according to your martial soul's development."

Bibi Dong's breath caught in her throat. "You mean—"

"Precisely. Since your martial soul now possesses divine-grade qualities, it will naturally influence and infect the Divine Throne with your soul's unique attributes. Think of it as a symbiotic relationship that will grow stronger over time." Electrolux paused, allowing the weight of his words to settle. "Regarding the divine tests and rewards, I have left the original structure intact, but I have added portions of my accumulated knowledge concerning law of space, time, undead and death itself."

The magnitude of these gifts began to dawn on Bibi Dong, and she felt a familiar burden settling on her shoulders—the weight of obligation and expectation. "These are invaluable treasures for anyone seeking ascension to the Divine Realm," she acknowledged carefully. "But such generosity never comes freely. What additional tasks do you require of me?"

"Your suspicion serves you well," Electrolux replied with evident amusement. "I need you to seek out individuals of exceptional talent and character in between your journey. When I deemed that individual as suitable candidates, you must extract the Life Gold from your spiritual sea and place it against their foreheads, using the same method we employed in your transformation."

Bibi Dong's lips curved into a wry smile, though there was no humor in her eyes. "So I'm essentially being conscripted as your inheritance examiner—a traveling talent scout for your legacy."

"That's one way to describe it," Electrolux admitted without shame. "Do you object to this arrangement?"

"Before I agree, I need to understand your criteria. What specific qualities should I seek in potential inheritors? Surely you have preferences beyond mere talent."

"Indeed I do. Above all else, seek individuals with unwavering determination and unshakeable moral character. Those who possess the strength to face adversity without compromising their principles. If possible, someone with natural light attribute affinity would be ideal, as it would harmonize best with certain aspects of my knowledge."

Bibi Dong nodded slowly, already beginning to formulate plans for her upcoming journey. "I'll keep those requirements in mind during my travels. The continent is vast, and true talent often hides in unexpected places."

"I have complete confidence that you will encounter the right person when destiny demands it," Electrolux assured her before his presence began to fade deeper into the Life Gold.

With her new purpose crystallizing, Bibi Dong prepared to embark on what would undoubtedly be a transformative journey across the Douluo Continent. As she stood in the silence of her chamber, memories of her younger self began to surface—vivid recollections of the idealistic girl who had first been adopted by Spirit Hall.

In those early days, she had harbored genuine dreams of improving the lives of common people everywhere, believing that power should be used to protect the innocent and create a more just world. Those noble aspirations had sustained her through her initial training and early missions. But somewhere along her path to power, those dreams had withered and died, replaced by a growing sense of superiority and entitlement that had gradually corrupted her original intentions.

She couldn't pinpoint the exact moment when this transformation had begun—perhaps it was during her relationship with Yu Xiaogang, or maybe it had started even earlier, with the first taste of real authority. Regardless of the catalyst, she was determined to return to those foundational principles that had once guided her.

"It might seem foolish to some," she spoke aloud to the empty room, "but I need to understand why Spirit Hall, despite our efforts to help people and mediate conflicts between empires, has become so universally despised by commoners, nobility, and sects alike."

The question had haunted her during her recent period of self-reflection. Spirit Hall's mission was theoretically noble—to maintain balance, provide justice, and protect the innocent. Yet somehow, they had become synonymous with tyranny and oppression in the minds of most people. Understanding this disconnect would be crucial to her redemption and to any hope of genuine reform.

During her journey, she also hoped to find a way to earn forgiveness from her daughter, though she was realistic about the challenges ahead. She understood that merely seeking forgiveness wouldn't erase the consequences of her past actions or heal the wounds she had inflicted. The damage had been done through years of neglect, manipulation, and emotional abuse. She would need to prove through consistent actions, not empty words, that she had truly changed.

Despite her flaws—her selfishness, foolishness, and tendency toward extremes when driven by pain and anger—Bibi Dong possessed qualities that set her apart from the vast majority of people in Soul Land. Her unwavering determination to face consequences, her razor-sharp intelligence, her incredible strength, and her genuine capacity for growth had always been her defining characteristics. Now, tempered by hard-won wisdom and authentic remorse, these qualities would guide her on the difficult path toward redemption.

I am Gui Shihao, am just an orphan in the Holy Spirit Village—yes, the same village as Tang San. I tried to find Tang San many times before awakening, and every time I saw him, he acted like a mature kid with great potential. I can't deny that he is a genius, learning all the Tang Sect techniques faster than anyone could imagine, but still, is he an idiot or what, acting like that? I even doubt that this might be the reason Tang Hao didn't treat Tang San better until he awakened his twin martial soul—to confirm whether he was truly his son.

I tried to befriend him multiple times, but Tang San always looked down on me, like "how can a beggar befriend me?" I even helped him get food and other necessities, but still his attitude was like it was our duty to feed him, and why should he be grateful for it? His arrogance was suffocating, as if the world owed him everything simply for existing. The other village children seemed to gravitate toward him naturally, drawn by his mysterious aura and uncanny maturity, but I could see through the facade. There was something fundamentally wrong with a six-year-old who carried himself like an ancient sage.

The days leading up to the awakening ceremony were filled with anticipation and dread. While other children played and laughed, I spent my time observing Tang San from afar, trying to understand how he cultivated the Mysterious Heaven technique of the Tang Sect.

Until the awakening ceremony arrived, every children were on line excited to unlock there Martial Spirit. Many awakened but no soul power, until Tang San awakened twin martial soul with full soul power.

Finally, my turn arrived. I stepped forward with confidence, expecting something remarkable given my unique perspective and understanding of this world's deeper mysteries. Instead, nothing visible appeared when Su Yuntao attempted to awaken my martial soul.

"I'm sorry, child," Su Yuntao said with genuine sympathy, "it appears you have no martial soul."

But I refused to accept this verdict. Something deep within me insisted that there was more to discover. "Please, check my soul power," I insisted, ignoring the pitying looks from the gathered villagers.

Su Yuntao looked surprised but agreed to humor me. When he placed the crystal sphere in my hands, it immediately began to glow with brilliant light, indicating significant innate soul power.

"This is... unprecedented," Su Yuntao murmured, his professional interest clearly piqued. "You have soul power without a visible martial soul. Wait—there are changes in your eyes."

When I looked in the mirror he provided, I saw my reflection transformed. My eyes had become a brilliant sky blue, perfectly complementing my white hair in a way that seemed almost otherworldly. The image staring back at me was beautiful in an ethereal, supernatural way.

That's when it happened—a voice echoed in my mind with crystal clarity:

Initializing JJK System.

For every soul ring, a gacha will be pulled to replace the soul ring skill with the gacha outcome cursed technique. The gacha rank goes as follows: 1-star (White), 2-star (Yellow), 3-star (Purple), 4-star (Black), and 5-star (Red). The rank of the cursed technique will be directly proportional to the age of the soul ring—in other words, the greater the spirit ring age, the higher chance to pull a higher star cursed technique. So, there is 1% possibilities of getting +1 star in pull.

For every curse being exorcised, you will receive JT (JJK Tokens), which can be used to purchase cursed techniques, cursed tools, information, etc.

A mission board is available to select random missions to earn more JT.

Starter pack: Innate skill of Cursed Energy—Six Eyes. Free 1000-year-old soul ring. And guaranteed 3-star plus voucher.

Do we proceed to pull for the first soul ring cursed technique?

So I learned that my martial soul wasn't the Six Eyes, but cursed energy itself, and Six Eyes was my innate skill. The realization hit me like a thunderbolt—I wasn't just another soul master in this world. I was something entirely different, something that bridged two universes of power. The Six Eyes granted me an unprecedented level of perception and control over cursed energy, allowing me to see the flow of soul power in others with crystal clarity.

"Use the voucher and proceed to pull," I commanded mentally, my heart racing with anticipation.

Initiating Pull

The next second, an animation of Gojo Satoru performing Domain Expansion: Infinite Void appeared in my mind, and in the following scene, a black star symbolizing 4-star appeared with dramatic flair.

Cursed Technique—Blood Manipulation

It wasn't a bad technique, unless you had something to continuously replenish your own blood. The technique would allow me to manipulate blood—but only my own blood—with incredible precision and power. I could weaponize it, use it for boosted strength, projectile, or even create complex blood constructs. However, the major drawback was the constant risk of blood loss, which could prove fatal in extended battles.

This gave me an idea to steal the soul bone of Tang San's mother, as it possessed regeneration abilities. Ah Yin's soul bone, the Blue Silver Emperor's leg bone, contained incredible regenerative properties that would perfectly complement my blood manipulation technique. With that soul bone, I could use blood manipulation without fear of exsanguination, making me virtually unstoppable in combat.

As I was lost in thought, calculating the risks and benefits of such a daring theft, Su Yuntao called me back to reality. "You kid, what do you think about my proposition of joining Spirit Hall?"

As I was about to deny his offer outright, I sensed someone observing us thanks to my Six Eyes. The presence was powerful, controlled, and familiar—Tang Hao. His spiritual power was barely contained, like a volcano ready to erupt at any moment. Without hesitation, I replied diplomatically, "I am grateful for the invitation, but I need some time to think about my future and decide my actions carefully."

Su Yuntao's face showed genuine regret, but before he left, he said once more, "If you change your mind, do come to Spirit Hall. A talent like yours shouldn't be wasted in a small village."

Well, considering Tang Hao was observing this interaction, it was to be expected that he would also understand my talent and potentially want me to assist Tang San in the future. The man was calculating, always thinking several steps ahead. He had likely already begun formulating plans that involved me somehow supporting his precious son's journey. But who was to decide what I was supposed to do with my life? I had my own ambitions, my own path to forge.

This situation made me more certain about my decision to steal Ah Yin's soul bone and run away from this place. I couldn't allow myself to become a supporting character in Tang San's story. With my unique abilities and the system's support, I had the potential to become something far greater than just another talented soul master from a backwater village.

(A/n- Well, if you don't like the name Gui Shihao, just comment it, I would later change it into Gojo Satoru. The reason, I kept it as Gui Shihao, was because first it is chinese name and suits the Soul land world more better. Second Gui means Honoured, you understand what I mean.)
