Markus was just looking through books on Biology, for today would be the day that he obtained his deed and keys to the warehouse.

A message had been sent to him of the dropoff location and he'd be going to pick it up at the end of the day.

He was currently sifting through the books on genetics on one of the more advanced books they had in their library with a scowl. He already knew most of the stuff in the library and they gave him no new information that he needed.

But luckily he already ordered books, secured college papers and research papers from some shady places so really now he was just wasting time.

Luckily by tommorow he won't have to come back here, a clone would take that job from him and he'd only see these walls again when he needed to fully take over the body of his clone.

That thought process though was disturbed when he felt Allison's presence walking towards him.

He had to Stiffler a frown when he sensed her.

Aside from the fact that they hadn't really talked that much after the dumpster fire that was Lydias party, they hadn't talked much at all and only ever got together to chat due to Lydia's meddling and the constant suspicion that he felt from her all the time since that day.

He couldn't help but wonder why she suddenly got suspicion of him since then but then again, he did leave a dead body and the ashes of a vampire in a really inconspicuous place.

What really had him frowning though was that this wasn't what he felt when she approached.

The suspicion was still there, but more so was conviction and even...duty?

His [Aura Source] could seemingly even see that now, though it was in the shape of sigils that he could intuitively understand then it being shouted it him.

But that wasn't the point.

He was really getting annoyed at how people were suddenly changing up on their behaviours, first Scott and Allison?

Was there something that happened yesterday or today that he wasn't aware of that was connected to him?

Because it was seeming more and more like there was, hopefully Allison would grant him some semblance of information in whatever she had come looking for him for.

That thought process though was immediately dashed as soon as Allison was close enough to him.

Instead of opening up a dialogue like she usually did, she simply grabbed him by the shoulder which confused him for a moment until he felt magic.

Magic quickly pooled up on her hand, a rune suddenly burning into light on her skin.

Discern. Nature. Supernatural. Invoke.

That was what he managed to see from the runes that suddenly latched onto him using Allison's blue mana aura.

Markus even when he felt no danger at all dashed back but the runes didn't break or leave, no, they latched onto his aura for a moment before latching off and floating between the guilty looking face of Allison.

Before he could shout out to her though, the runes in the air which looked like a vortex of gold to the naked eye suddenly changed and an image was shown.

The image was clear as day, a clawed hand caging what he could only suspect was a magic circle.

He didn't focus on that for long though, his focus was instead on Allison.

Her eyes turned wide as saucers, her mouth slack and pure unadulterated fear on her face as she stared at the sigil.

Then when she looked at him that fear was magnified two times over.

" Warlock...." Was all Markus heard before he saw Allison bolt out of section he was on and even the library itself.

" The fuck is a warlock?" He thought with a frown even as he kept watching Allison run between people heading straight for the exit.

[—Ding! A Warlock in this version of the world is a human who makes deals with outer sources, commonly these beings are Demons.]

Immediately he understood that he was fucked, a hunter thinks he was a warlock and the worst part was that he didn't know how that even came to be.

" How the fuck am I a warlock?!" He shouted, not managing to reign in his panic and anger.

First it was his brother, something that he could handle sure.

And now it was Allison and she wasn't some threat that he could just wave off no, she had the backing of an entire community of hunters on her call, hunters who were definitely more adept at their jobs then the hunters he was used to.

[—Ding! Does the host not remember making a deal with The Entity in return for—[Genius Comprehension[Perk]-] | [Loved By Nature[Perk]-] | [A Bend In Magic[Book]-] ]

And just like a valve opening, memories came flooding in.

He remembered, it was the first opportunity at power he was granted and like a fish out of water he jumped right in without thought.

[—Ding! The Host was warned that their choice would have consequences.]

He didn't even rebute that, yes he had been warned about taking the deal but he hadn't thought that it would come to bite him like this.

Worse of all, he still hadn't completed his part of the deal which was to find a way to regrow the Nematon, but since he wasn't given a timeframe to do complete his side of the deal he thought he still had time.

But now he just couldn't help but wonder whether this had been the Entity's plan all along.

At the time he hadn't thought of its intentions, only focusing on the power and opportunities it presented like an idiot he walked right into whatever machinations it had planned out.

" Fuck me..." He couldn't help but groan out all the while laughing at his foolishness.

But he didn't have time for that, he needed to move before the hunters did.

He needed to hide as quickly as possible and luckily for him he had just obtained just the place to do it.

So he ran, ran faster than ever did all the while activating all his physical boost skills to cover as much ground as he could.

He needed to pack up, his items obtained from the System besides his sword were still in his house and everything else he would need.

He needed to get to them and then he would need to do more, he after all had a family and he was stupid enough to believe that they wouldn't get thrown into this with him.

Atleast he hoped that his mother would be fine, his brother could fend for himself for all he cared.
