Originally, they'd agreed Bokue would only spend half-days working—meaning he'd typically return from the Underworld around six in the evening.
However, due to the unexpected incident involving Mio Naruse and Maria, by the time Bokue finally got back to the Gremory mansion, it was nearly half-past ten.
❁❁❁❁
Cut to the upper floor of the castle, inside a softly lit bedroom. Rias sat quietly by the bedside, browsing through photos on her phone.
Naturally, there was no internet in the Underworld, but basic phone functions—like browsing her photo gallery—still worked.
Rias didn't have many photos.
She wasn't the kind of girl who obsessively took selfies or shared every moment online. Most images were either group pictures with the Occult Research Club, occasional couple shots she'd semi-coerced Bokue into, or candid photos she'd secretly snapped of him.
Bokue's profile was ridiculously handsome—something universally acknowledged by Rias, Akeno, and practically every other girl around him. Ever since Akeno caught Rias secretly taking candid shots of her own boyfriend, she'd made an outrageous demand:
"All those secret pictures you take—you'd better share them with me too."
Rias had verbally agreed. But secretly, she'd always kept the very best ones tucked away privately, only sharing the less impressive pictures with Akeno.
But even so…
Glancing at the date on her most recent photos, Rias let out a gentle sigh. Beneath her thin, semi-transparent silk nightgown, her ample chest gently rose and fell.
She had genuinely looked forward to summer vacation, anticipating waking up every morning next to Bokue, spending entire days leisurely together, without having to worry about classes or awkwardly parting ways in the afternoon.
Yet now, several days into their break, she'd actually spent far less time with Bokue than she had during a typical school week.
Even her phone's photo album hadn't been updated in days.
"Ugh," she murmured quietly, a touch of irritation creeping into her tone. "I'm supposed to be his official girlfriend… yet here I am, acting like I'm secretly crushing from afar."
She sighed again, resigned, dimmed the screen, and placed the phone down on the nightstand.
Just as she was about to slip into bed, a familiar golden glow flickered gently in the air. A figure emerged instantly inside her room.
It was Bokue, returning from his errand.
This time, though, he was holding two large cardboard boxes—one contained the gaming console, and the other a TV that Kuroka had requested.
Setting the boxes down, he glanced around, his eyes quickly settling on Rias sitting by the bed.
"Oh? You're still awake, Rias?"
"Ah… I was just about to sleep." She paused mid-sentence, quickly changing her words. "Not yet, though. Did something delay you?"
"Yeah," Bokue admitted casually, moving to sit beside her. "Something unexpected came up."
Rias leaned in slightly, resting her cheek softly on his shoulder.
"It sounds like you had a rough evening," she murmured softly. "Care to tell me about it?"
Without hiding anything, Bokue explained briefly how he'd gone home to pick something up and accidentally ran into Mio Naruse and Maria.
As he finished explaining, Rias's expression shifted gradually—from initial curiosity to mild surprise, to suspicion, and finally settling into a look that unmistakably said: So you ended up sleeping with her after all, didn't you?
"Honestly, Bokue," Rias muttered, voice flat, "sometimes I really do wonder if you're deliberately trying to make me jealous. I'm waiting right here at home, yet you're off picking up other girls…"
"Come on, Rias," Bokue protested mildly, reaching an arm around her shoulders. "Under those circumstances, could I really have just ignored her?"
"Wait, stop," Rias interjected, lightly batting his hand away. "You literally just came back from another girl's bed, didn't you? Go shower before you even think about touching me."
Ignoring her protests entirely, Bokue smoothly lifted her into a princess carry. As Rias let out a startled yelp, he rose swiftly from the bed.
"I know," Bokue said teasingly. "That's exactly why I'm headed to the bath—right now."
"Th-then why are you taking me? I've already bathed!"
Rias blushed furiously, her face flushed scarlet. She knew perfectly well what he had in mind.
He wanted them to shower together—and clearly not just for washing up.
"Wait… Bokue!"
Though her protests continued, they gradually became softer, almost playful. By the time the bathroom door shut behind them, her reluctant words had faded completely into breathless murmurs.
❁❁❁❁
Unfortunately, Rias lacked the stamina skill points to keep up with Bokue's intense "battle style." Thus, despite giving her best in their steamy bath encounter, she was utterly exhausted within two hours.
Night fell deeper outside the castle window, moonlight filtering softly through the curtains.
Inside the bedroom, Rias lay quietly on her side beneath the sheets, which barely concealed her curves. Her pale arm stretched limply atop the bed.
Behind her, Bokue embraced her gently, the infamous "spiritual energy injector"—notorious for even making Yura shriek in embarrassment—still firmly nestled between her thighs, radiating an irresistible warmth.
"Feeling better now?" he whispered teasingly into her ear.
"Ugh," she responded weakly, too exhausted to sound genuinely annoyed. Instead, she gently nudged his chin with the back of her head, voice softening into a pout. "Do you seriously never run out of energy? Every single night… It's like you're some kind of…"
She hesitated, too embarrassed to say it outright.
"Some kind of what?" Bokue prodded playfully. "Do you not enjoy it?"
Feigning offense, he shifted slightly, acting as though he intended to withdraw and return to his room.
"Fine, if that's how it is, I'll go sleep elsewhere—"
"Don't!" Rias instantly protested, alarmed. She tightened her legs reflexively, trying to hold him securely in place.
"Just… stay here tonight," she muttered, blushing fiercely. "Everyone else is probably asleep… it would be rude to disturb them now."
"As you wish, Princess~" Bokue smirked triumphantly, pulling her warmly back into his embrace.
Yet perhaps in Bokue's pretend attempt to pull away earlier, their position had shifted slightly, causing the spiritual injector—originally perfectly placed—to accidentally press against…
"Wait—not there! That's—ahh!!"
Too late. Her hurried protest turned swiftly into a startled cry as Bokue, clearly having discovered a new form of "entertainment," enthusiastically explored this uncharted territory.
Tonight, beneath the moonlight, a certain Ruin Princess inadvertently discovered a new kind of happiness—a rather… embarrassing one.
