I grabbed my phone and earbuds, slipping them in as I stepped outside. Music filled my ears, a soft beat rising to drown out the noise in my chest.


The night air was cool and refreshing as I jogged steadily along the quiet sidewalk. The sounds of birds chirping and distant chatter from other people reached my ears, but none of it could silence the thoughts swirling in my head.
