Chapter 72 - Herald vs Ravihiro

The night sky tore apart with a cacophony of roars and an ominous light as the Heralds of the Viroshis descended upon the Sky Demon Sect. Their monstrous forms—a grotesque amalgamation of shadow and sinew—towered over the sect's towering gates. Each step they took left the ground trembling as if the mountain itself was recoiling in fear.

Ravihiro stood at the forefront, his Kageha martial soul materializing at his side. The sleek, black sword radiated a dark energy, its edges shimmering like the night sky. His Ryugan glowed fiercely, scanning the Heralds' forms, analyzing every weakness, every movement.

The leader of the Heralds, a towering figure cloaked in writhing shadows, spoke in a voice that shook the heavens. "Surrender the shard, mortal, and perhaps I will grant your people a swift end."

Ravihiro's lips curled into a smirk, his stoicism unbroken despite the overwhelming aura. "You've chosen the wrong sect to invade."

The Battle Begins

The Herald leader raised a clawed hand, signaling his minions to attack. The air erupted into chaos as shadowy creatures launched themselves at the sect. Disciples and elders fought valiantly, their combined energy lighting up the battlefield like fireworks.

Ravihiro darted forward, his movements a blur. His Kageha martial soul cut through the air with precision, slicing apart any Herald that came too close. With a flick of his fingers, he activated a series of formations he'd prepared beforehand.

"Gravity Compression Formation—Collapse!"

A massive gravitational force slammed into the Heralds, pinning several of them to the ground. Their bodies cracked under the immense pressure, but the leader remained unfazed. He stepped forward, each stride shattering the formation beneath him.

A Desperate Stand

Ravihiro leapt into the air, channeling his spiritual energy into his palms. A glowing orb of energy began forming between his hands, growing larger with every second. His voice boomed across the battlefield.

"Energy blast!"

The beam of pure energy tore through the ranks of the Heralds, disintegrating dozens of them. But the leader raised a hand, absorbing the brunt of the attack with a shimmering shield of dark energy.

"You are impressive, mortal," the Herald leader said, his voice tinged with amusement. "But you are no match for the Viroshis.

The Shadow Assault

The leader lunged forward, his claws slashing through the air. Ravihiro barely managed to block with Kageha, but the impact sent him crashing into the ground. Blood trickled from the corner of his mouth as he stood, his body battered but his resolve unbroken.

Activating his Ryugan, Ravihiro scanned the Herald leader's energy flows. His pupils shifted into an ominous red hue, and a dark shadow began to rise within his sea of consciousness.

"Yamihara!"

The shadow surged forward, enveloping Ravihiro and granting him immense power. His attacks became faster, sharper, and deadlier. With each swing of Kageha, the battlefield was bathed in streaks of black energy. Yet, the Herald leader matched him blow for blow, their clash sending shockwaves across the sect.

Tandava: First Form

Realizing the need for more power, Ravihiro activated his most destructive technique. His body began to glow with a golden hue, and his movements became a dance of chaos and destruction.

"Tandava: First Form—Annihilation Waltz!"

Ravihiro moved like a storm, his strikes hitting the Herald leader from every angle. The ground beneath them cracked, and the air itself seemed to shatter. But even this wasn't enough.

Tandava: Second Form

As the Herald leader prepared a final, devastating attack, Ravihiro closed his eyes and channeled every ounce of energy he had left. His body ignited with a crimson aura as he unleashed his ultimate move.

"Tandava: Second Form—Vajra!"

A massive wave of energy erupted from Ravihiro, consuming the battlefield in a blinding light. The Herald leader screamed in rage as his body began to disintegrate. Yet, before his form could fully fade, he retreated into a swirling portal, his remaining minions following suit.

"You may have won this time, mortal," the leader's voice echoed. "But the Viroshis will not stop. Prepare yourself."

The Aftermath

The battlefield fell silent as the last of the Heralds disappeared. Ravihiro stumbled, his body trembling from the immense strain of his techniques. Blood dripped from his wounds, staining the ground beneath him. Despite his injuries, he remained standing, his gaze fixed on the fading portal.

Rumina and the elders rushed to his side. "Ravihiro! You're injured!" Rumina's voice was filled with uncharacteristic concern.

"I'm fine," Ravihiro replied, his voice cold and detached. "This isn't over. They'll be back… and we need to be ready."

As the sect members tended to the wounded and began repairing the damage, Ravihiro turned his gaze to the horizon. His thoughts were not of the victory they had achieved, but of the war still to come.
