Change of POV: 3rd POV
Morgan just entered the next 'floor'.
Apparently, after entering through the 'gate', the space around her distorted slightly, as if it re-arranged around her, before it stabilized in completely new and unfamiliar room.
This one is slightly different.
It's still a 'half-way'. But the catch is that opponents are not Humans nor 'Automatic-Moving-Armors' from earlier.
But Monsters.
Precisely, a two meter-tall Humanoid Monsters with a body of a male Human, wearing nothing but tattered skirts and instead of a Human head.
They have a Bull's head.
"A Minotaur? This is a first one.." Morgan took a stance immediately, as soon as she did, the twenty Minotaurs or so rushed at her.
She never fought this Magic Beast before, so she was not sure on how much energy and strength should she increase for this fight.
So, she will go with Full Force.
"RROOOAAAR!" Minotaur roared, just when it was in front of Mornga's face.
But sadly, it's own Roar was cut short by a [Mithril-Spear] cutting it's throat open, Minotaur with dazed eyes fell back on it's back on cold ground. Not standing up anymore.
19 Left.
Other's enraged by their comrades death, stopped roaring too, instead focused all their might on crushing Morgan rather than show dominance over each other.
Three more encircled Morgan from left, right and front.
They all swung their fists.
Seeing this, Morgan let them make contact with her Spear's handle, just so she can gain decent guess of their strengths.
~THUD!
Three fists swung at the [Mithril-Spear], the ground Morgan was standing on simply cracked slightly due to their combined strength.
And their level?
"A Strong Low-Class ha? Almost Mid-Class." She muttered to herself before she pushed her spear against them with her force, sending two of the Minotaurs backs several feet, and her [Mithril-Spear] quickly lashed out a like a snake, ans she horizontally cut-up the remaining Minotaur.
The remaining Minotaur simply watched as it's as it's upper body de-attached from the lower-body.
18 Left.
Five Minotaurs surrounded her by now. From all sides, leaving no room for escape.
But well, she can always jump away, but she decided against it. And instead used her favorite move when she indeed get's surrounded.
The Rotating-Tornado slash!
She grabbed the end of her spear and moved together with in quick succession, cutting all five Minotaurs in pieces like a tornado as the air pressure around her settled finaly.
The five Minotaurs fell down in pieces and she quickly jumped away from them, the smell of their rotting flesh soon to be is disgusting anyway.
13 Left.
And when she landed, she immediately thrust her spear towards the nearby Minotaur's brain, leaving nothing but a hole in a place where it's brain should have been.
12 Left.
"RRROOOARR!" All remaining twelve minotaurs looked at each other for a moment, a bit uncertain on what is happening. After all, in their eyes Morgan is nothing but a mere Human child, nothing but a food for them to eat, nothing but a prey to catch.
Yet, she dealt with 8 of their brothers, now this spread confusion around them and their survival Instincts kicked in. Compared to Armor Knights earlier who were just Golems without a survival instinct, these Magic Beasts are alive.
So they roared in defiance as they split into two groups.
5 Minotaurs decided to run-away into corners of the room.
While remaining 7 Minoraurs rushed towards Morgan with all their numbers together, in hopes of crushing her in their 'stampede'.
Morgan waited for the mean-time, there is no haste in going after them. Just wait for them to approach her.
And they did.
In less than several seconds they were in front of her, raising their legs, arms to attack her.
But, sadly for them, Morgan was done playing, she deems it's time for her to quicken her 'Quest'.
And in one simple movement, a step if you want to call it like that, she disappeared from their view, before appearing behind their group.
In that instant, she used her full speed and disappeared from their vision in instant, and pierced their bodies countless times.
But, the fact is that Minotaurs did not even realize it yet.
They're confused and turned around to look at her, and they found her behind them. Just when all of them turned back, they noticed something wrong. That something wrong is that their bodies fell apart.
Fell apart into dozens of pieces, from limbs to limbs.
5 more.
Seeing that those remaining five Minotaurs were nothing but cowards, Morgan did not even want to 'try' against them.
Instead, she summoned several [Kasaka's Venom Fang] Daggers from her [Inventory] and used [Dominator's Touch] aligned with them, thus sending them towards covering Minotaurs.
0 left.
As if it was cue for her, the 'Gate' leading to next level 'opened' with a resounding crack in the room.
Seeing this, Morgan flexed her arms slightly from stiffened muscles slightly.
"These Minotaurs are barely worthy as a warm-up honestly." She thought out loud, before her gaze moved slightly around their lifeless body.
She let out a satisfied snort of 'amusement' ?
Before she marched towards the gate.
As she did so, when she entered it.
A screen flashed by.
A golden yet transparent one.
[Congratulations of completing [Delta-Level]! Good luck for [Gamma-Level] but it's not like you will need it anyway.]
Morgan snorted at that.
Screen disappeared, and once again 'the reality re-arranged around her, shifted' and she was in another 'half-away' this time too.
"How many Half-ways are there anyway..." She though to herself, before she set her gaze towards her enemies this time.
She noted one thing, the enemies in question are another round of 'Knights'.
But these ones are different slightly, they are probably more durable and stronger, but their numbers are 20. And every single Knight is holding a spear, their armors are purple colored with purple cape fluttering behind them.
They seem to have noticed her, if their helmets shifting slightly towards her is any sign.
"If I remember correctly, purple color should display 'royalty' and with such color, their strength and weapons.." Morgan muttered to herself, still paying attention to how Knights are running towards her. " Could this be something like a King's Tomb? Tower itself is called Knights-Tower, and since previous level had Minotaurs, could it be combined with Greek-Myths. A labyrinth?" She questioned herself.
She gripped her spear tightly, before she sprung in action.
Time-Skip: Minutes later.
Morgan rubbed her fore-head lightly, she just finished dealing with last Purple Knight.
What she found, 'interesting' is that each one of them is as strong as Mid-Class, hence C-Rank.
Their physical strength and speed are C-Rank, but their thinking is still restricted to basic movements, attack, kick, punch but not retreat.
So it also a simple breeze for her to walk through them.
But now she glanced at their 'corpses' for the moment before turning her head towards the Gate.
So she walked towards it.
If this level was Mid-Class, then next one is High-Class probably.
And last one might even be Ultimate-Class.
Morgan shivered at that slightly, even with all her S-Rank equipment boosting her stats, she only reached Beyond the peak of High-Class but not Ultimate-Class yet.
She is 'decently strong' right now probably.
Just when she entered the gate, the usual golden yet transparent screen manifested in her vision once more.
[Congrats on completing [Gamma-Level]! But now you are going into [Beta-Level], the difficulty between these two levels is astronomical, if you make even a smallest mistake here, you are failing!]
The screen's words marched cheerfully, Morgan nodded in acknowledgement. She thought already so.
The 'Reality Shifted and re-arranged around her' once more.
And he surroundings changed, this time from usual white 'half-way' changed into a black one.
Black colored tiles and bricks surrounded her.
But unfortunately for Morgan, she did not have luxury to marvel at beauty of the architecture since almost immediately she sensed 'danger' coming from her right, her instincts alarming her at full force that is.
And she almost automatically brought her speed to block, and her eyes moved to 'inspect' her attacker.
The force behind that attack's Long-Sword is comparable to High-Class level, the usual High-Class level, meaning B-Rank.
The ground beneath her feet cracked slightly under such force and strength.
Her attacker was a golden Knight, entire armor is Golden, every single centimeter was golden covered. As for it's helmet, it was a winged helmet with 'feathers' on both sides of the helmet for ears. And has one 'straight-line like a visor' glowing red.
And the Golden Knight used a sword, a Long-Sword.
Morgan's eyes flickered behind it, she noticed another 4 Golden Knights in the Half-Way, meaning this level only has 5 Knights guarding it.
And the other Knights are quite a bit far-away, it will take them couple seconds to react and arrive to her position. And those couple seconds may as well be her entire life flashing through her eyes.
Morgan was confident in fighting and against 2v1 like this, but 1v5 is a stretch even for her.
But she has a better weapon and longer reach than them.
At first she pushed the Golden Knight away slightly, and proceed to attack it, with all her strength.
The knight, showing that it's strength is truly worthy for B-Rank managed to parry or block several of her swipes. But there was a staggering difference between them.
It was not about their skill difference, or strength difference.
But weapon quality.
Just after several strikes, Morgan saw it, she saw how Golden Sword of the Golden Knight in front of her 'is breaking' under her attacks.
So instead of simply continuing her attack, she target 'limbs' to make this a battle of attrition.
In a split second, both Morgan and Golden Knight exchanged dozens of blow, Knight was pushed back by Morgan's tenacity, and Morgan was aiming for one sole point.
Knight right arm, the one wielding it's sword.
~Crack!"
"Got you!" Morgan grinned, the last block of the Knight was successful, but at price of the Golden Sword breaking in half, and the reach of the half would not be enough in time to block Morgan's next attack.
So with one decisive move, she brought her spear towards it vertically, from it's right shoulder to left hip, she decapitated it, thought she did not cut it in half, she cut it's right arm and ALMOST cut it in half.
Thus she managed to defeat it in seconds, but the catch is that she had to be serious to accomplish this feat, and if Knight had A-Rank Weapon like she does, then it could have been a different story all together.
It was only her luck that Knight's equipment was so poor.
But just when she finished the first Knight, she was forced to dodge a sword swipe from right.
'So all four of them are here now. What a pain to deal with.' She could not help but think so, as she retreated back, back away from them.
