About half an hour later, Sophie Smith finally walked out of that room.
Asher Land's expression was, of course, not pleasant, but Sophie didn't think much of it and went straight up to him.
"Sorry for keeping you waiting so long."
Her attitude was indeed impeccable, and Asher Land smiled, generously forgiving her.
Asher handed the prepared check to Sophie, who hesitated for a moment before taking it from his hand. She held the check tightly in her hand, and after a long while, she turned around.
"This money is for you to pay off the debt."
"Wow, a real benefactor," Charlotte Harrison said, full of excitement, as she tried to grab the check, but Sophie dodged, not allowing her to take it.
"You... you're not backing out again, are you?" Charlotte's face changed, and she looked at Sophie with suspicion.
"I'm not your ATM, and I'm not as rich as you think, so I hope you stop squandering it. The casino is not a good place."
